If I'm not mistaken, that option only works with wired charging, not wireless.

Yes, you are correct about this. With usb Cable (with wired) this "stay awake" options is work. After few second screen brignes get darker little bir but seen everythigns. But for wifi fast charger is doesn't work. I thought that phone has some kind settings.
Thank you for your interest...

Hello everybody,
I realised during charging the battery with the Dockingstation that the screen remains always turned on.
Even when the phone is turned off.
I would like to charge the battery using the docking but without having the screen activated. Someone knows how to do it?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, thanks for you answer!
Yes I can, but it turns on automatically after 3 seconds and remains turned on as long as is connected to the Dock.

You can turn it off. Check the docking configuration on Smart Connect and then turn it off.

thank you for the tip! although after 10'' the brightness reduces . Dont know why, as i have set the brightness to 100% through smart connect.
I have a tylt wireless charger that I keep my Turbo on at work, and every time I take the phone off and set it back down, I get the full screen notification that wireless charging is detected and to make sure my phone is centered on the charger. It gets really annoying, and I wasnt able to find any setting of where this message/screen can be turned off. At first I thought it was one of those training things that only bugs you the first few times, but nope, 2 months..
Any suggestions?
Sorry, I have no solution but I just wanted to agree and say that this animation is really not necessary. Maybe the first few times, yeah, but not every time. I miss being able to customize things with root and custom roms. I did notice that after the latest firmware update, it no longer unlocks to the home screen after you set it on the charger. It will now stay on the lock screen if it is locked when you set it down to charge. It is an improvement, although a minor one.
On the bright side it doesn't make a god awful sound like the Droid Maxx did. Hopefully it gets root soon and this can be disabled.
Quick question for you guys: I'm using the Tylt at work too, is it just me or does it take FOREVER to get a full charge?

So on my wireless charger, I actually have to use the TURBO charger or it will not work. My charging times are not terribly slower, at least during the TURBO phase, at the top off phase it is a bit slower, but not bad. Maybe try the TURBO brick and see if that helps.
I'm currently using a wireless charger that doesn't display that dialog. All of the others that I use trigger the placement dialog. Strange!
This is similar to the stupid volume notification every time you turn up the headphones volume close to max. A Don't show this again check box would work wonders in both these situations

I figured out an easy way to disable this notification on my Droid Turbo 2. All you have to do is go into your Apps list, show the system apps, find the "Inductive Charger" app, and DISABLE it. Inductive charging still works just fine, but no more annoying pop-up.

Fricken genius. Works for the moto z2 as well. Also disables the annoying sound with it. AWESOME FIND!
My phone screen turns on when I plug in the charge cable or put it on the wireless charger. Is there a way to disable this?

Per chance do you have stay awake enabled in developer options?
There is no native way to avoid this behaviour, but you can somewhat manage it via an app called Snoozy charger in playstore
I'm just curious... Why are you bothered by the 5 seconds of screen on when you plug in the charger ? It just gives you an indication that charging has started, 5 seconds, and then it turns off.

What's the trick to allow the Note 9 apps to function while it's wirelessly charging? Currently, the phone won't even charge when wirelessly docked unless I lock the screen or enable Daydream.
Is there a hack that can fix this arbitrary limitation?
There's no hack. The Note 9 functions just fine while wirelessly charging. You have a bug.
Thanks for the quick reply. So, you can have an app like YouTube running on the foreground full screen while your phone is fast wireless charging?
Mine DOES show that it's charging in the notification bar, but the red led on the phone doesn't turn on unless the phone screen is locked. So, it looks like it's charging, but it doesn't actually charge the battery. When doing searches on this issue, I just see others asking the same question without a solution.. even for other Android phones.

Mine charges just fine while using it. I often put it on the wireless charger and watch Netflix. Of course using it will slow the charge rate, but it should at least keep up with the use.
Does your red led for charging stay on for wireless charging while watching Netflix, etc? Mine turns off unless the screen is off.

No that light only stays on while the screen is off.
Your get the same thing when using wall charger, indicator only turns on when screen is off since it's a notification LED. It isn't meant for it to stay on while screen is on since you can see battery icon showing its charging.
From what I've experienced, the phone will charge wirelessly, with screen on (about 800mAh) and wirelessly fast charge (I cannot get a mAh measurement, because the screen has to be off to get the "fast charging" toast message seen on the lock screen) with the screen off.
This seems like an odd limitation to purposely install, but there it is.
I have a QI wireless charger in the car - if I dock my Mi 9 it charges fine, but then when it gets to 100% it turns the screen on.
I think it then stops charging, and then a small amount of battery must be lost, then it charges up again - gets to 100% and then the screen turns on...
And repeat!
So once the phone is at 100% its turning the screen on and off every minute or so, very frustrating when driving.
Is there a way to suppress this anyone can suggest?
Thanks,
Bill.

Unfortunately I've no solution for you, but indeed this sounds a frustrating issue! Furthermore, when i have my phone on the following wireless charging stand at night time....
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07KG5HDFX?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_pd_title
...i don't face this issue. As in, I have it charging throughout the night and I haven't noticed it turn on and off when reaching 100% and the repitition you have mentioned.
My only suggestion is to perhaps try another wireless charger, though this may be slightly over kill as perhaps the same thing might happen with that one. Presumably the charger (or phone?!) is stopping charging at 100% then dropping to 99% and resuming charging etc. Which charger do you have out of curiosity?
I don't believe there are any settings currently that can help you. There is a setting in the Developer Options, but the opposite "keep screen on whilst charging". Therefore whilst this setting is not what you need, reporting this feedback to Xiaomi could result in a new setting to "disable screen on when 100% charging complete" could be implemented.
Do you intend on unlocking your bootloader/rooting etc? As you could ask for such a setting to potentially be implemented into the Xiaomi EU rom or other custom modified rom. Alternatively, when (hopefully) we start to get roms like AOSP etc with lots of features. Lastly, perhaps the best option for you would be to use something like Tasker (rule based automated task app, Google it if unfamiliar), if you do intend to root, as I believe you could use a rule such as "when charging = screen off", which may work.
I got that idea from here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/9wg8k5/is_there_a_way_to_have_the_screen_off_while/
Same issue here, but on wire. Screen turns on, showing the charging animation, then goes off for a while, then turns on again. Frustrating.
Update: I figured out that the phone 'doesn't like' some chargers as I use many. I have an older 5V 1A Huawei charger and the behaves like above, however, with other chargers it works fine. Previous phones work fine with this chargers too.
