Bought a G870A off of Ebay (I know I know). Came with OF3 and still has alot of previous user crap on it. Tried factory reset but got the "MDM server does not allow factoryReset" message. Being root is out the window, what are my options? Can I ODIN a new rom... perhaps OJ3 stock full and get the factory reset?
Any help is appreciated.
Okay, finally got logged into account and into phone. Reset phone. But still has the activation lock on. Do I need to update to 5.1 ?

A little back information to clear up how this started; a friend of mine has some very serious mental health issues and over factory reset his SM-G900A because he is paranoid someone will get his phone and steal his information. Its not stolen or found. The reactivation lock was triggered and hes so overly medicated he cant figure out what his Samsung account information is to recover it. He claims to have sent it back to Samsung and they couldn't recover it. I'm new to modding androids but have had a lot of success tweaking my SGH-I537.
I tried to reinstall the stock firmware to get around the reactivation lock. When i checked the properties of the phone on my pc it said it was running G900AUCU4BOF3 firmware. But a google search told me that the OF3 was a OTA to downgrade it to NCE. Several attempts with Odin "failed" every time and brought me rite back to the reactivation lock. Until the last attempt with my third different set of NCE files ended with a "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again" warning on boot up. But Kies or Smart Switch wont connect to the device now.
Can someone help me please?
I decided to factory reset my tab s2, but now the tablet is requiring me to enter my gmail account to authenticate myself. The problem with this is that when I do so it says, "please sign in one of the owner's accounts for the device". I am the only owner so I don't know why it would be giving me this error.
I'm trying to use odin to flash it back to stock but I can't find a firmware file for the at&t variant. I would very much prefer to NOT flash another version's sofftware on it but i think I'm running out of options. Would anyone be able to help me track down a stock firmware file I could flash?
Thanks
I root and unrooted my note 4 following the proceedures in this galaxynote4root.com site and when I unroot it using 5.1.1 stock firmware in this sammobile.com site and do a factory reset, my phone is locked because of ab abnormal factory reset, and when I sign in my samsung account it says processing failed, I tried wrong password and it says invalid id or password, tried bypassing into settings and adding samsung account but it does nothing, just goes back in add account, and the reactivation lock is unchecked, when I tick it and click accept, it is still uncheck, what should I do ? anyone please help me, I'm pretty screwed here
Is there a way to do a FULL Reset of the Note 8? Not just a Factory Reset which doesn't seem to be enough - I want to try to reset my Note 8 to how it was when it first came in the box. Removing the Region lock - CSC and whatever else is retained in the phone that is not erased when I do a factory reset.
Right now, when I do a factory reset, when the phone is booting up - it goes into a Android Update/ or system update and it essentially resets the CSC to the same settings it was before I did the Factory Reset. I am trying to circumvent that or prevent it in some way without bricking the device of course...
I am guessing that if I can do this, I can go thru a limited setup of my device and ultimately be able to do an OEM unlock in Developer Settings. This is just a guess for me right now, but that is my thoughts any way -
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Samsung support is no help at all - I contacted them and they will not help me because it is an International Variant. They gave me a number in Europe to call - tried calling, can't get thru .
Flash factory ROM with oden. Have you removed sim card?
Sent from my SM-N950U using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Samsung smart switch for PC or MAC will download and install whatever the ROM supposed came from factory.
There's probably the option in Recovery. Older Samsung phones was to hold the Power and Volume UP til it booted.
Device: Samsung N960UZBAXAA
Firmware CSC code: XAA
Active CSC code: TMB
Device is unlocked & currently on Google Fi, running stock ROM
Got the android 10 update a few days ago, ever since then about once an hour I get a notification from OMADM saying 'firmware update not completed'. If I allow it to run I get error 407: the profile update could not be completed, at which point the update attempt cycles again and I get either 407 or 700 and it stops trying for an hour. Did a factory reset, no change, found a few other people on the Samsung forums with the same issue after the patch but no response or further info. Everything works, I can send and received texts + calls, but the firmware update message inevitably pops up again. Been reading up on using Odin, which leads me to my question- is it worth flashing the firmware myself/taking other steps I'm unaware of, or should I hold out in case of an OTA fix? And in the event that I do flash, would I look for firmware with the current CSC code, rather than the active CSC code?
Any and all advice appreciated!
Try wiping the Cache Partition in Recovery Mode and see if that helps. If it doesn't then take your device to a Samsung Service Center and let them take a look at it.

Wiped the cache partition after the first failure, did a factory reset during testing, no change. Starting to think that a t-mobile sim might change things but I don't know enough to say for sure. Problem about the service centers is that I live in the boonies and to my knowledge there isn't one within a couple hours of me, so I'll have to send it out.
In that case try downloading the stock US Samsung Version of the OS and installing that onto your device.
