Z3C vs G3? - Xperia Z3 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, how y'all doing?
I am going to buy a new phone, almost decided to buy Z3C but my mate recommended me LG G3 - which one is better in your opinion? I am not sure if G3 will fit nicely in my hand, that's 5,5" though, Z3C is really Compact )) in this case. How about CM? Which one is better to go with CM12/13? I am looking for great battery, nice performance (atleast rare lags) and screen (quality, contrast etc - not size).
I hope you will be able to help me sorting this out
Regards

If you are looking for an AOSP Experience, you should look for the Z3C with the Concept Rom, best of AOSP, ans best of stock Xperia (in my taste) (go to here for more information)
I don't know if something equivalent exist on LG phone

Thanks for reply
Yeah I heard about Concept, looks like clean Android. I love it, not like Xperia's overlay. I am looking forward for next replies!

Let me make this simple for you..
Battery: Z3C
Speed: Z3C
Camera: Both are Good but in low light it's Z3C
Display: G3
Design: G3

Design g3 really!?

My mate has G3, it's really big because of 5,5".. However my gf has Z3C, I have to admit that design is awesome imo, looks pretty expensive. How about benchmarks on both phones?
Thanks for replies guys, now I am sure that xda is right place to stay longer

On my Z3C I got a score of 48000 on AnTuTu with stock ROM.

Take a look on youtube or google, but so far i know, i make the general chat for nothing i think, to ask your questions and stuff over there.

It's a vast topic and I've only had my Xperia T for a couple of days, so I can't properly quantify battery life just yet, but here goes.
Overall, I'm going to say, "no, the Xperia T isn't better than the S III." The S III is, for me, a more complete package. That's not to say that the Xperia T is bad, not by a long shot, but it doesn't feel so all-encompassing as the S III. The S III wins on points rather than a knock-out, but from the top...
The Xperia T's screen is beautiful. It's sharp and responsive and has BRAVIA. The Samsung's screen feels overly saturated, but it's also a beautiful one. I've found the S III's screen to be a little bit more responsive than the T but I prefer the Sony colours.
As far as performance and feel go, both feel fluid and responsive and both will very occasionally jerk or stutter, but the S III does it that little bit less than the Xperia T. I feel like I'm splitting hairs here. It isn't a deal breaker for me.
The S III's camera is very impressive indeed. I was a little disappointed with the Xperia T's camera; more pixels, but not set up from the factory to be so fast. With some tweaking (enable touch take) it's much better, but when working with images, the Xperia T is noticeably slower. Sure. Fewer pixels to shunt around memory and a more capable processor (depending how we measure it...), but this is where the Xperia disappoints me.
What they look like is personal preference, but at the moment there are way more cases and accessories for the S III compared with the Xperia T. The S III is much thinner, the Xperia T is more comfortable to hold than the Xperia S and as great as the S III - but this is as much down to personal preference as anything. I don't much mind for soft buttons or real buttons, both work just fine (and I adapt between them).
It feels like a moot point, but I don't like Samsung's default keyboard one bit. I use SwiftKey 3 and I use it on both devices, so nae bother the big yin as you can change it. Likewise with ICS you can disable junk you don't need, but the Xperia T comes with more stuff on there that I don't need.
For me, it comes down to speed. The Xperia T is a fast and fluid handset, but the S III feels that little bit quicker and more fluid. If you've used neither then you probably won't feel that big of a difference.
Hopefully that helps. The Xperia T plays the value card and it's a decent handset, but the key strength of the camera feels just a little bit hamstrung by the device being slower than the Samsung flagship.
Hi guys
Loved my Xperia S but returned it due to problems(screen) within 30 days from amazon. I have the galaxy s3 (New upgrade) but its going back for the Xperia T, the hardware on the s3 is great, still not sold on Amoled screen though, love the software on the Sony, Xperia T arrives on Monday hope I've made the right decision glad Sony now allow micro sd or wouldn't of bothered.
The Xperia T feels really solid compared to the S3 which feels cheap.
It's having an very unique and great look.
Sony's software is so much better than overbloated Touchwiz.
It's not having 1000 features added like Touchwiz, but i'm not using that stuff anyway.
I prefer clean software. Everything is where you would expect it.
Sony's software is mature and not childish like Touchwiz.
No annoying sounds and colors.
I'm really impressed.

But anyway, it has to go away for CyanogenMod.

Bought Xperia T
I bought today Xperia T. I've tried S3 for a week. It is really difficult to say wich one is better. My choice was Sony because... I like Sony.
Size, Apps - personal preferences
Speed - very close
Quality - both very good
Buttons - I like S3 main button, but I've missed camera button even more
Battery - Hard to say. I was using both phones a lot, and i don't say any bad words about any of them. But You can't use a spare battery with Sony. But I never used any spare one with any other phones.
Only one big thing for Samsung. DEVELOPERS.

Okay, I am completely sold. Getting the T. Next week. CAN'T WAIT !
Just swapped Galaxy s 3 for Xperia T a few days ago.
Pros:
1. The Software is way better on the Xperia T. Love the task manager with small apps. Xperia link with my Xperia tablet s is a god send.
2. Dedicated Camera button is a must for decent photos.
3. I prefer the colours of the Xperia Ts Screen.
4. The speaker quality is brilliant in calls and movies.
5. Headphone sound quality is richer.
6. Phone is sturdier and feels like a premium product.
7. Keyboard has better sensitivity.
8. PlayStation gaming coming soon, rumoured full wireless dual shock 3 support
9. GPS lock on is fantastic. Really quick and gets it even inside my house.
10. The Xperia T gui is just as smooth as the galaxy s3 and the speed is just as fast in loading and running apps bar some intensive games.
Cons:
1: Games run better, more smoother on the s3 (on really demanding games)
2. Development/community is better on s3
3. Looks like the s3 has jellybean first
4. No burst mode on the Xperia T camera?
5. So far battery life seems better on the s3 but that may be as im hammering the Xperia T as its new.
6. More official accessories available on the S3, where are the Xperia T official cases?!

For the cons I've highlighted above I'd say that they are obvious due to the fact the S3 has had a good few months to build this developer base and also for retailers to release accessories. Only way to do a like for like is give the phone x more months and then compare how the S3 is now to how that is in the allotted time. If you look at the S3 after a week from release date all the available ROM's/mods/accessories weren't there straight away it took time to build up. For these reasons none of these are cons for me
Oh and I'm also looking at the Xperia T as my next phone in November unless Google makes an exciting announcement on the next Nexus phone/series by then.

Unless AT&T locks the bootloader, I'm likely to get a TL - which is almost exactly identical to the T.
Only thing is I kind of want to wait for the next Nexuses... But I'm kind of thinking of using my XDA ERD perk to get the TL and then personal cash for a Nex.

I appreciate this unbiased comparison.
I want to upgrade from my Galaxy S2 soon and i am tempted by the Xperia T,
I played with an instore demo and it felt slightly slower then the S3 in store demo. It could of been because of every single timescape widget running lol.
i wanted to remove the widgets and reset the phone but i think the store would frown on that.
So it's only a little slower and may lag/stutter slightly more?
The screen - the timescape interface is so dull it doesn't do it justice. I watched a demo video showing sea life etc and it was incredible. Yet Gsmarena tested the phone and it's viewing angles and contrast ratio is below that of the iphone 4 (a 2 year old screen). that was disappointing. Now i don't know what to think
But it's so much more comfortable in the hand...i know i will drop the S3!
I personally find it quicker than my S3 in day to day use, chrome also runs a lot better.

[Q] Xperia S to Xperia Z, is it worth the switch?

Hi there, first timer here. I'm hoping that XDA will be able to help with this question since I've noticed that there're are a few members who have the Xperia S (XS)and plan on switching to Xperia Z (XZ). Anyway, here goes:
Basically, I'm thinking of switching from XS to XZ.
However I've seen many complaints about how the loudspeakers and camera are subpar, or not as good as expected.
To be honest I don't care if the phone isn't that great. I'd be more than happy if it's better than my XS.
That being said, to the XS and XZ users on XDA, what do you say? I'd really appreciate some feedback on the following two points before I decide to buy.
1) Is the XZ camera better than the XS camera?
Edit: Well, actually, is it alright to say that it is a significant improvement?
2) Are the XZ loudspeakers better than those on the XS?
Or do they sound better (yes, I know this is really subjective...)?
I switched from S to Z.
So far so good
I switched from T to Z...

I'm coming from XS too.
S was (is) a great phone.
Z is superior to S.
1) Camera in certains conditions can easy outperform S.
2) Speaker sounds good when mobile left on the table etc in landscape mode watching videos etc. Its a bit better when it comes to sound quality, but can't see really difference in volume levels. With headphones it outperforms S aswell.
Screen, battery life. Everything is better. Plus, forget about lag. Nova launcher does the job more than perfect.
Thanks for the feedback, everyone.
I've made the switch from S to Z. Feels good so far

[Q] From Xperia S to Xperia T: is it worth it?

Hi guys, I'll go straight to the point: I was thinking of exchanging my Xperia S for an Xperia T, paying about 30€. I have some questions for you owners, hoping you'll take a couple of minutes to answer me
T is more powerful, no doubt about that (actually I do have a doubt: does it have dual channel RAM like Xperia V or is it the same RAM as Xperia S? ). What I'm particularly interested in is:
- Camera -> Better? Worse? Same? Apart from those 13 MegaPixels, Sony sensors are always quite good, the problem is how Sony optimizes the software part (sometimes awfully, unfortunately). So... would I regret switching from S to T?
- Battery -> Neither T nor S have great battery life, this is actually well known. But how's battery life of Xperia T comparing to the one of Xperia S? I'm actually satisfied (enough) with my S... would I regret buying this T?
- Bugs & Problems -> Is there any terrible bug that I should be aware of? And in that case would I be able to solve it with a little modding?
- Last question: would you recommend me to change my S with a T for just 30€, or do you find it useless?
Thank you for your attention, hope to read you soon
I've got the T, my brother has the S, so I#ve had the chance to use both (at least a bit)

About even. 1MP more doesn't matter (you won't notice such a small increase in pixels. A camera needs to have at least 25% more pxels to show a visible increse) - and since most of us don't print and most screens still show only 2MP the pixel increase is irrelevant.

Not really a bug but an annoyance: the home/back buttons are softbuttons that take up screen real estate unlike the S, which has those buttons as sperate touch areas

Camera MP count

I agree a 1 MP increase is irrelevant. Unless the increase goes in hand with a bigger pixel size, which usually means a bigger sensor. Even the opposite is true. Higher pixel count means higher pixel density which mean higher digital noise which means more software noise suppression which means more loss of detail!
The really relevant data would be the sensor size, and secondly pixel density. The same sensor size with 5 MP count would potentially deliver a far better quality, especially in low light conditions.
The useless counting of MP is the prove of marketing powers. Even when using the build in digital zoom, anything more than 10 MP in a hand phone or compact camera is looking good on the package description, but delivers no value to the consumer. Professionals seldom need more than 20 MP. They have much better sensors in their cameras, which are multiple the size of the toy sensor which is in a phone. The right feature in the Xperia would be a switch to connect two or three pixels to one unit, that would be a real improvement.
To the phone, wait for the next good offer. The differences are not earth shaking.

Yeah the biggest reason I could see to upgrade is the increased screen size it's a lot nicer to use then a 4.3 and maybe the build of the LT30A is one is one of the things that made me fall in love with this phone when I was buying it but other then that and maybe the small apps I can't see a reason to upgrade just wait till something better comes out.
Thanks for your replies. I actually specified that I know those "13 MegaPixel" means nothing: that's why I was asing users about the camera quality, because I can't just rely on that number
Apart from that, I'm just willing to change because the Xperia T design is one of my favourite ones, plus it will still receive support from Sony. I'll probably go through a serious change in march/april 2014, but for now I'm just a bit tired of the S (though I'm quite satisfied with it).
Thank you anyway for your opinions, hope to read more from you

Actually 2 words : "Under investigations"
From a development point of view it would make much more sense to take the T over the S. The T is getting an official 4.3 update (maybe even 4.4) and the S isn't. Developers are currently doing fantastic things with the T from solid stock ROMs like Hybrid and Miui to super fast and smooth 4.4 ROMs such as OmniRom. They are doing so much on old kernels and software. Imagine what they'll be able to do once the T gets 4.3 or 4.4.

Xperia SP or Moto G

Hi guys, im buying a new mid-range phone and i'm deciding between the better two: Moto G and Xperia SP.
I really like the Moto G, but what i like the best is the screen, gorgeous, nice constrast and saturation. Black is pretty deep. Also i like its bloat-free, and running Kitkat is a breeze.
On the other hand there is the Xperia SP, while a little heavier than MotoG, is more or less the same phone. Features the newer 1.7 s4 pro (same as S4 Mini, another phone i considered but discarded for being too expensive for what it is), but what i think is the biggest advantage from the MotoG is the camera, 8MP and it is Sony. The screen, i think the MotoG's better.
Don't know why i feel the MotoG better than the Xperia SP, but the 5MP Camera is a deal-breaker. In your opinion which of this phones is the better one? For daily users of the Xperia SP, how good is the Screen? Contrast, Brightness, etc. Do you think the Sony's Camera to be so much better than MotoG? Recommendations? Thanks!

Should i buy this device as a dev?

So im currently a dev for the Zuk Z1 with a msm8974 and im looking out for a new device. So what would be the profit for you guys if i choose this device? Im building many roms like du, aicp, rr etc. What ever i like too and im also interested into building kernels. So now the job for guys here is to convince me to buy this device instead of a Zuk Z2. Tell me how the camera, display etc. is and maybe i choose this device.
Let mebstart wih the camera:
Selfie cam is amazing (sometimes I feel that it's superior than primary camera, but both are fabulous) I have tried clicking photos in Indoor low light gatherings, nice results and HDR is even good
Sound = Speakers are super loud, super clear.
Battery= lasts long, charges even faster ( 1 hour at most)
Development= Stable for MM, will start for nougat now.
Display=bright, vibrang and nice.
LED notification colors=Aditya Bhandari:
Cyan
pink
white
red
Dark Blue
yellow
green
Yesterday my phone landed flat on screen with tempered gkass from 11-12 ft, screen intact and OK, tempered shattered.
Listen bro. There is no need to convince you as it is up to you. We are not recruiting you and obviously the attitude with the line "So now the job for guys here is to convince me to buy this device" doesn't sound good.
Codeworkx, Risabh, yejicson, timesnavigator, etc never asked to convince them. We have better Dev than you with kind attitude. Thanks and at last my opinion for you to don't ever get this device.
Oh sorry i think you understand me wrong. I don't see anything what i do on XDA as a "job". I do this all in my free time and i love to do this and to help out other people. I was just wondering if this device is a good platform to do this stuff. Im sorry, maybe i should choose other words next time instead of "convince".
Best regards

For the LeEco le s3, it's a great phone, feels good in hand, build quality is great also. The snapdragon 652 is very quick. An all around good device, no complaints, it just needs some more stock roms. All the specs are online, they are impressive for the price.
