Definitely not.
I have the Korean Note SHV-E160L and am also having problems.
I'm not sure what custom ROM we can use.
As for rooting the device, there is now a solution that a few people on here have tried out successfully: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421885&page=2

Download a stock ROM from your country here, and flash it through PC Odin -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
Then, you'll root it using the kernel CF-Root : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784

I just did and my keyboard is ruined
every thing i type comes out as a null

N920F is N920C.
Some retailers sell N920I as N920F.
Or you have a fake phone.
Download and install this app
Then post the 'Firmware' section.

Will it trigger my Knox counter and wipe all my data and setting?

Yes ,rooting your device will trip knox.!!
No ,it will /should not wipe any data or settings .
Not sure ,but should.(re : build version N920CXXU2BPBA)
(CF root works on ,other versions of Marshmallow for N920C ,)
