Thanks, I've red a couple of guides but the are for G2/3 only. One of them steps doesn't work on G4, so no solution so far.
Theres been a few threads on this and i know it can be done the issue is the board flasher. Has to support whichever board is in the g4.
So an year passed and still no solution? How come others phones got a solution, but not the G4? If it can't be done via USB who can direct flash the EMMC than?

Yea this is garbage im gettin rid of this phone just orederd me a nice refurbed g3 ill take that over this new any day. I qualcom bricked my g2 and g3 and was able.to recover but the fact that its not possible or hasnt been found yet urks me.
Yea from what ive found there aint know way all the old board flashers dont work.
Jtag is so far the only option. witch is bull crap cause if u read the g2 and g3 threads most of them say just about any new quallcom should be completly unbrickable. Go figure another down on the g4. No hardbrick fix. no unlock half of you now cant root. Hardware issues plus many many more. You rock lg. Not. Way to destroy your reputation. And rate ots going g5 is going to be as big of a blunder.

Hey I was just looking on eBay and found this.
http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-G1-ANDROID-...ell_Phones?hash=item439b98bb44#ht_2866wt_1168
He says he can fix radio bricked G1's
I don't believe it but who knows
THIS IS A REPAIR SERVICE FOR ALL HTC G1 PHONES. IF YOUR PHONE IS BRICKED OR THE SCREEN GOES TO G1 LOGO AND FREEZES. ALSO IF THE PHONE POWERS ON AND IT GOES INTO THE BOOT MENU THEN A TRIANGLE WITH EXCLAMTION POINT THEN IT CAN BE FIXED. I BRICKED MY PHONE AFTER I INSTALLED THE RADIO TWICE AND I WAS WITH OUT A PHONE FOR 2 DAYS. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH AND READING ALOT OF FORUMS. I FOUND A WAY TO UNBRICK MY PHONE.

EDIT: What mode does the G1 go into when you press the scroll ball in and power. I did it just now and a blue LED popped up, could this be a way to unbrick? I'm sure someone else found that out though.

he offers no proof, no explanation, and he's just annoying by typing with all caps. even if he did have a way to unbrick a bricked g1, i wouldn't let him near mine because i'd be afraid his poor internet etiquette would attach itself to my phone and infect me.
My thoughts exactly, I wonder how the people in HTC flashes the boards. I was looking up and found out about jtag a long time ago but thats probably it. I'm no pro though lol.
There is still something inside saying "what if..." haha. Well I'm glad my G1 isn't bricked *knocks on wood*
Ebay is a place where a bunch of low life people go in hopes they can rip off people who dont know any better.
Unfortunatly it just shows us that a lot of humans are scum.
No need to post this here, if it happens you will probably hear about it here first.
yeah ebay can get pretty sketchy. and besides, for 75 dollars? he's probably just gonna buy another g1 and replace the motherboard which can easily be done for under 50.
Today I bricked my captivate and tried various methods to try to unbrick it.
But looks like it is really bricked and was wondering if RIFF JTAG would help
http://www.jtagbox.com/?s=captivate
They seem to have added support for captivate today itself. So not sure how many folks would have used it to unbrick captivate, but in general has anyone used the RIFF jtag to unbrick any phone?
Or has any one used the JTAG to unbrick captivate?
Interesting find. I have very little experience with JTAG so can't really help but I am curious to know what you find out. Keep us posted.
I too have truely bricked my captivate. Quite upsetting but I have been wondering about these options as well
Me too, Me too, Mines bricked from bad bootloader, I can't get anything to show up, not even the (phone --- ! --- PC) thing.
Found a forum that people have successfully unbricked with the JTAG, but I have yet to get in touch with any of them to see if I can get them to unbrick mine for me.
If anyone is willing to do this, I'd be willing to pay some $ for it, I don't trust my soldering skills, or I'd buy the JTAG and attempt it myself.
Thanks!
- Greg C.
I was skeptical at first, but when I saw the device itself and its specifications I can believe it does what it says for sure. Would be interested to know how much it costs though. Has anybody inquired as to its cost yet, by chance?
It costs $150 US including delivery. Tempting...
No JIG no JTAG

You guys don't need JTAG.. If you don't wanna mess around with soldering and Jig, try the method in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=889128
Takes a little time but cheap and no soldering or breaking a usb cord required..
Tried that resistor trick, didn't work on my bricked phone, but it did work on my replacement.
I'd love to get my brick working again so my fiancee can have it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
And it does work, there is a JTAG forum that one particular person has unbricked over 20 phones, a few of which were Captivates

Ricky, you think I'd spend $150 if it only fixed Captivates when I can easily fix it with a jig on a soft brick? It advertises that it can unbrick most modern phones including Androids and Iphone. That is tempting, imo.

Hey, I'm in Belgium and can unbrick model you want...
Most of cases you do not need a JTAG. You may want to try a jig first.

Even if this works, and it has been known to work, it will result in greatly diminished performance on the part of the phone. You'll probably want to get a different phone after recovering the data.

Depending where you bought it LG will repair it with proof of purchase.
I bought mine from ebay and purposely made it bootloop so LG cud replace motherboard.
Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
Hello, a few years ago I successfully rooted Mt LG G4 H811 (T-Mobile) and everything was fine, except for a strange issue of not being able to boot into TWRP except by performing a button assisted hard reset. Then one day, as the old thing was grumbling through its routine, the signing remained. I then pulled the battery and permanently ceased it to function at all. Until this very night, more than two years later. I decided for gits & shiggles to plug in the charger and lo! Out started to take a change. Sorta. I knew it wouldn't fully boot, do I did the ol pill the battery truck and boot to recovery manually. I made it to the factory reset screen and moved the cutie the the "yes" position, but the power button would not engage the reboot. I tried several times with no luck. In fact, its lying here beside me, mocking me with that "Select yes to delete" line.
Any ideas whatsoever??
Hi all...I'm sorry if something like this has been posted before...if so please link me to it and delete this.
I have the g4s little brother, the LG g stylo (metropcs), and I was thinking about a slight upgrade. I found a bnib tmobile g4 on eBay (located in usa not china)
My current phone is stock rooted 6.0 with xposed and I have everything set just how I like it...I also use my phone everyday for work so it's very important that it works flawlessly.
I've been reading about boot loop issues with the g4 and that worries me...I'm also worried about this whole thing I've recently come to find out about xposed not working on nougat? But I suppose I could just stay on a mm based Rom? I'm also trying to learn about magisk as I didn't even know what that was because I really haven't tinkered with this phone in quite a while.
Anyway I'm wondering if anyone here has any good advice/knowledge to share with me...any links that could provide good reading material would be appreciated to catch me up to speed...or if maybe you can suggest another phone to upgrade to? The g4 I found was $140...but I'd probably spend up to 250ish? The g4 is just sounding like a good little upgrade for less than what I paid for my stylo new...plus I'd still get to use g4 tweaksbox...If you've read all of this I appreciate your time thanks.

depends on 2 things... 1 if its really a h811 ive seen many and inside motherboard is another variant..
2. its not guarantee but as long as you get a phone made from 2016 onward the better. doesnt mean it could not bootloop but chances are slim. i have 1 from jan 2016 anyhting above that manufacturing date . less chance to bootloop also LG has extended warranty to 2 years from manufacture warranty so they say.

well the only way i guess is to ask the seller for manufacturing date. tell them some units are defective and you want to look for the phone with newest manufacturing date. cause if you get one and its from 2015 are very likely to bootloop.
This isn't coming from New York
Read it fully
Coming from hong Kong or china
Likely a refurb
Just curious if anyone has tried Jtag service fix or with own Jtag device on a hard bricked Note 8? Would be good to know in case someone hard bricks. And if no one has maybe someone who hard bricked could try it out? Ebay offers Jtag fixes for hard bricks.
Well I guess not. I message few guys on ebay who offer service. Dealt with them in past and have high stars in the thousands. He said they haven't got a hard bricked Note 8 yet.
Not bad deal $8-10 bucks to cover shipping and if they are able to restore it $30. If unable then no cost just shipping. I don't plan on risking it yet far as things that could result in hard bricks. But I know there's some people out there who already hard brick.
If anyone has success who is hard bricked please let us know.
