Can anybody please enlighten me on how to unlock the bootloader of my d410 (indian variant) or at least point me to the right aboot.bin for v20b_00_0210 firmware?
Last week I found a custom v20b aboot.bin here on l90's xda thread & tried to unlock it three times unsuccessfully. The third attempt hardbricked my phone completely & here I am with my PCB replaced L90 (after spending Rs 4,500 or 68 USD)
I am very curious to know what could have gone wrong & if it's possible at all (in lollipop) to install a custom or should I be moving back to kitkat to enjoy custom recovery goodness.
Here is the link for the right aboot.bin for your device. v20b

Those are the sources for the L90, D415 variants. They must be built first then possibly flashed via recovery. If you don't have access to your recovery or fastboot then KDZ flash or warranty claim are your only choices.
Greetings.
I have a lg l90 d405n with V10d-EUR-XX (KK 4.4.2) firmware on top of it. I'm fully stock, haven't rooted or anything. I plan to install a custom ROM on this device so I'd like to ask for some guidance. I'm used to nexus devices where you just type "fastboot oem unlock" and start flashing. How do I unlock bootloader on my specific device? I saw this thread, but there is but there is no v10d aboot for lg d405n. So what should I do? Do I need to flash v10 or v10b with Flashtool first and then unlock the bootloader on something else? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
P.S. Can you also recommend me the best rom for d405n in terms of performance, stability and battery life?

Alright, thank you very much. So the procedure is as described in the link to the Subliemesiem's thread, I just need to flash this aboot?

In order to be able to flash partitions, you have to get root fist.
In order to be able to boot a custom recovery, you MUST have an unlocked bootloader. If you root and flash custom recovery without unlocking the bootloader, you'll have to enter in download mode and reflash everything from scratch (kdz flash).
So, in a nutshell:
Root > Unlock Bootloader (hacked aboot) > Flash custom recovery (TWRP) = You now are free to do whatever you want.
I'll give you an advise that's wise to follow: after root, even before unlocking your bootloader, backup your modemst1 and 2 partitions, they have your IMEI and are unique to your device, this will save you from the infamous unknown IMEI problem after restoring from some kinds of bricks.
Hi, I've been trying to Root, Unlock Bootloader and Flash a Custom Recovery in my LG L90 D410 Running Lollipop 5.0.2 Software v20a but there are too many methods and I'm confused. Some of them is just about rooting but also want to unlock bootloader and install recovery.
Please Help ASAP.
Hi. First step is rooting. As you are on 20a you should be able to use one-step rooting (search forum), which needs a computer. If it doesn't work or you want a simpler solution, you can use Kingroot, but be aware that there are some concerns about using it due to its constant communication to Chinese servers that aren't well explained so far AFAIK. You may want to replace it with SuperSU later using a script (not easy). It will be removed later if you flash a ROM anyway...
Once rooted: backup original bootstack and modemst partitions, flash unlocked bootstack (make sure you flash one for your exact phone model), flash recovery and then you should be able to flash any ROM.
PS: most custom ROMs only work with Kitkat bootstack, then either downgrade or flash KK bootstsck before flashing custom ROM.
PS2: it seems that at least latest versions of CM 12.1 work with either Kitkat or Lollipop bootstacks, so you may want to check the most recent info about the custom ROM you want to install first.

I encountered many problems as a beginner to install a custom ROM on my LG L90 D410 v20c Europe, because struggled to receive support, I posted on dozen of posts and never received any answer, since most of the developers have probably abandoned this phone.
So I post below what I did and worked for me. This doesn't mean it will work for you and I assume no responsibility.
PLEASE, USE THIS TUTORIAL AT YOUR OWN RISK, IF SOMETHING WENT WRONG ME OR XDA WILL NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR LOSS. Always do backups before of every operation if you are unsure of the outcome

I had my phone in a rooted state, with this guide
Then I couldn't find any unlocked aboot for v20c. Some were saying it was safe to use aboot file for 20b or 20s, but some were saying it was risky and if it did work, I would have lost my imei. I eventually also found an aboot for v20c from a russian website.
But in the end I decided to be safe and restore a previous stock version where there was a verified couple of KDZ and aboot. I choose version 10d.
I downloaded the file KDZ of the stock OS from this link, that looks to be from the LG website itself
http://tool.xcdn.gdms.lge.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FW682806432109876543213/D41010d_00.kdz
and followed this guide to restore stock 10d
To download aboot file and successfully unlocking bootloader I followed this guide
Earlier I've tried also this guide and it DIDN'T work for me. It entered in a boot loop that I solved but then it couldn't install any recovery. It might work for you, but it didn't for me.
With the previous working guide I installed the old version of twrp, then restarted, installed the official APP of tpwr and from there I upgraded to the latest version.
I restarted in recovery and backup up my partitions, imei, etc.
At this point the most difficult part is done, and now you just have to follow the standard procedure to install a custom rom and gapps, downloading the versions of your choice in the SD, restarting in recovery mode and installing.
Here more details
I hope it will help other beginners in the same situation as me.
Unfortunately I can't provide support on anything since I'm a beginner myself.
I have a stock frimware of v10a how to unlock frimware
Hi everyone,
you've probably already read my question in the headline, but here is some additional information:
I've been trying to flash a custom ROM on my Lg L90 but I always fail at the pretty much first step: oem unlock. My device is btw rooted via KingRoot. I am unable to do the unlock via adb tools and as far as I know I have to install some kind of modified aboot.bin data. The problem is that apparently there is no such data matching my L90 model and android version... so are there any other ways?
In addition I want to install TWRP and a custom ROM afterwards (maybe lineage).
Right now I am using a Mac Book Pro for the adb tools but I guess that works just fine (I can interact with the device but I just cannot oem unlock it)
I hope somebody can help me out because I have absolutely no clue right no and it seems like there is no thread regarding my problem yet.
Thanks

UPDATE I fixed it:
I used this aboot version:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/dzp38dk9jivw31j/aboot+d410hn+v20abc+unlocked.zip
and followed this Tutorial on xda which did not provide me the aboot I needed:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-unlock-bootloader-flash-custom-t2839690
Note: The used aboot seems to be for the D410 model... it worked for my D405N but now my phone says it is a D410, which doesn't bother me but maybe there will be some complications anytime
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B3tcQL-ZiaWvampCSHRKRko1T2s here you can find aboot and some other stuff.
first root our phone with kingo root or king root and then download this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jmz.soft.twrpmanager and them this one app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm.
them extract aboot.bin to external_SD card and go to terminal emulator and type this code: su
dd if=/storage/external_SD/aboot.bin of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/aboot
them go to twrp app and search for w7 and choose recovery version and you ready to flash some custom roms

Hi,
the thread opener has a 405n with v20c. The file you linked to (aboot+l90+d410+v20abc+patched.zip) seems to be for 410 and v20abc. Will the file provided also work for my phone, which is a D405 with software version v20b-eur-xx?
