How loud is the Samsung Fast Wireless charger? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Accessories

Just wondering how loud your chargers are?
Mine is louder than my entire PC (which is pretty noise-optimised to be fair).
And the fan is on all the time while charging (ive heard that its meant to turn off when its not hot) .
I'm getting really annoyed by this charger.

A charger that makes noise??? I don't even hear mine. It's not a fast but regular wireless.

The fast charger has a fan in it, so its just a regular fan whirring noise.

It's really quiet, I get more "coil noise" from some of my other fast chargers. My Surface Pro 4's fan is 10x louder than the Samsung Fast wireless charger, so unless there's a jet turbine in his I doubt it's that loud.

Ah thats a bummer. I guess mine might be defective :/

I am using new series S7 but it charger is not best

Hear it occasionally but the fan only seems to kick in when it's warm.

Does it say 'Wireless Fast charging' on the screen when you place it on?
Are you using the fast charging cable/wall adapter that came with your phone?
I'm using a spigen neo hybrid case and fast wireless charging works fine (and very quick too)

Just as an update. I have 3 now. Two from the same seller. One from a different seller. All appear to be legit.
All 3 are quite loud. One in particular i think is broken because of how loud it is
All have the same sn on the actual charger. rf7g80ag77acis
The box for #1 and #2 have differnet numbers, but #3 has the same one.

I am using a Samsung USB Power Plug.Do you have tried another?Tell us the bad thing so that we could avoid being defrauded:good:

I dont have another plug to try unfortunately, and the wall chargers are quite expensive.
I'm starting to think all these ebay chargers are legit, but maybe not A+ stock. Maybe the fans are loud (all 3), or the paint is peeling a bit (two of mine)
Totally guessing here.
I go into wayy more discussion plus photos over here: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2525674&p=-1&

I am using it. The fans is extremely silent. No fans spinning sound.

Someone on whirlpool took one apart, along with a legit one. Components inside were identical. Also the weights matched. Packaging was identical, fast charging works perfectly (confirmed on all three of mine).
There are a lot of fakes on eBay I agree. But they all cost $15 or so. The ones I purchased were $40 and $50 from sellers many others on whirlpool had purchased from
And in reply to the guy who said the fan doesn't turn on when not using a Samsung fast charger adapter.... Yeah that's by design. Same result by switching off fast charging in the phone settings. Fan doesn't turn on

Do you have a link to the teardown? I'm interested to see what's inside componentwise.

Don't mean to derail this thread but instead of creating a new one. I've been meaning to ask: does your Samsung fast wireless pad not turn off (blue lights are still lit up) after charging your phone to 100%? I've got the proprietary standard wireless charging pad but it automatically shuts off once done charging my phone. I'm suspecting a problem with the former but would like to be sure so I went ahead posting it here..
Thanks in adVance!

4.2 amp dual usb car charger for simultaneously charging two Note 2's

"For those who are interested in car dual usb efficient charging"
I am using 4.2 amp dual usb car charger bought on eBay. Importantly, I can charge two Note 2's simultaneously where one is mostly on 100% brightness running Google navigation and slacker radio over bluetooth on at&t LTE network and other one charging while being used for light browsing, emails, calls etc. Dual charging is quick and comparable to stock AC charger.
Ebay item number is 320779507652

Hope you sell lots of them.
I am not a seller, I am a technology enthusiast who regularly follows forum and few months ago when we both upgraded from S2 skyrocket and iphone 4S to Note 2, car charger issue started bothering me. I searched extensively for dual usb car charger with 2.1A + 2.1A output and narrowed down to two choices, one is sold by Kensington for ~$28 and other is the one I posted on eBay for ~$14. I ended up buying 2 from eBay so that I can have my both cars covered for cheap, whenever we are driving together. I wanted to contribute to forum by sharing this information long ago as I see everyday folks wondering about a good usb car charger, but I was just reluctant to register.
Please feel free to delete my post if moderators feels that it is more of advertisement towards purpose of commercial gain which isn't true.

Yes. Could you please report back on your findings?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Had a chance to test out the Aleratec. First off, it doesn't strike me as overly well made. It's not bad, just seems thrown together. There are some gaps where the plastic fits together, and it's pretty bulky. The rectangular part looks to be about 1 inch square by 2 inches long. There's a red LED that shows when the unit is getting power, but it's just stuck inside the housing so that it's hard to see in bright daylight and the whole thing glows lopsidedly at night. On the other hand, it does seem to perform roughly as advertised. I haven't tested it with a multimeter, but here's what we did.
On a 10 minute drive across town, I had my N2 plugged in with Navigation and music on. My son had his Droid DNA plugged in playing a graphics intensive game. Both phones charged a few percent in that time.
On a 30 minute drive to the next town, I had the N2 running Navigation and music playing through the internal speaker. My Nexus 10 was charging from the other port. The Note started at 86% and finished at 91. On the return trip I left my note plugged in but left music and navigation off. It started at 80% and ended at 95%. There was another N2 plugged into the second socket, but I didn't check it's stats.
So all in all it does a decent job charging two devices while they are being used heavily. I think you'd have a hard time losing charge while it was plugged in. But it looks cheap and I'm not expecting it to last a real long time (though it might, who knows.) Still, I'll probably buy another one or two for those long drives when my son's Nexus 7 is chewing through games and battery, I have latitude and music running on the phone, and there are at least a couple other devices in the car needing to stay topped off. For the price, I won't be overly disappointed if I have to replace them in a few months. Hopefully we'll have better quality options by then.
Thanks for the update. My main concern is JUST my GN2 while using GPS, streaming music from Pandora while connected via BT to my head unit. That's probably the Most electrical draw I can come up with. If it charges during all that, I'm sold.

Well, supposedly, the two outputs are largely independent. So I'd compare the performance of just my GN2 on it. On the half hour drive I was using Spotify playing through the internal speaker. But I was playing a downloaded list, not streaming data. I did have wifi enabled (I just leave it on) but not bluetooth. Navigation was on with voice directions.
We're headed on a 800 mile trip tomorrow and I can have my son play games on it while it has nav and bluetooth on, see if he can figure a way to use more power than this can output, but I won't be able to get back to you on that til at least Monday. He can also stress it with his N7 and my N10 running simultaneous games. We'll see.

I'm not fond of the reviews on that one. Also, only one of the ports is 2A+. It sounds like the other two are a bit over 1A at best. For my purposes the extra slot isn't worth the added bulk if I only get one 2A slot. But everyone's needs differ.

After using the Aleratec for over a week, I'd say it's a keeper. It's kept up with my son's N7, and with my using the GN2 as gps and mobile hotspot at the same time with sporadic phone calls at the same time. It also charged my N10 nicely. I did have one time when my Blackberry curve (work phone, ick) reported that it couldn't charge, but disconnecting it and reconnecting fixed that.
Again, this doesn't strike me as a particularly high quality or well-engineered piece of equipment, but it does seem to do what it claims. For the price, I'll be ordering a couple more.

Beet wireless charger?

Hello i just making this thread for people to share what you think is the best qi charger.
Things to leep in mind are time from 0 to 100 % charge. Desing, and also if the phone has to be placed a certain spot or anywhere..
Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
I have this one. Don't know if it's the best, but it was a steal and it works great for me. No special placement needed. I can't test with a case, as I don't have one.
http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Yoot...9665&sr=8-1&keywords=yootech+wireless+charger
I've had a tylt charger and have loved it on my G2. There's no "sweet spot" because it just sits there. Nice because it's upright and you can see your phone. BUT...the note 5 doesn't work in portrait/upright. It cycles charge disconnect over and over. It does work perfectly in landscape though. I use it when im sleeping so no biggie. There are similar wireless charging cradles on amazon that say they work specifically for the Note 5. As for speed...they're all slow. Unless you get the Samsung fast wireless charger.
Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
I am currently using this one I got from Amazaon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010B6PSMC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00 They had a sale on it earlier and I got it for 25. I should have gotten a 2nd one, I love it.I have a case on it and do not have to worry about putting it in special spot for it to charge (works the same vertical or horizontal). As far as the time it takes to charge, it usually says anywhere from 1 to 2 hours when I place my phone on the charger. It may take longer but I usually not paying attention to the time it takes. If I am in a hurry to charge, I typically use my fast charger but otherwise I would place this on the wireless charger and let it do its thing. I did have another one that was a horizontal QI receiver and it was ok but too many times I put the phone on the charger before bed and wake up to phone that is not fully charge. With the CHOETECH Iron Stand QI Wireless, I do not have to worry about it. With so many other QI chargers out there for less, my only wish is that the price was little cheaper. Overall, I love this unit and highly recommend it.
There seems many users are talking about charging issues with their wireless charger. Luckily I had not such issue with my Iron Charger Stand so far. It works stable and its brushed aluminum matches my gold Note 5 device.

So with the tylt charger, with the note and s6 if you lay a pen on the ledge and then place the phone on top of it, charges perfect in portrait. The phone just needs to be pushed up about an inch to match up the coils I guess.

Yes, a lot faster then the standard wireless charging pad. Not blazing fast but fast.
So what would the numbers be? 90 mins with the wire, 120 mins with the fast wireless charger, how fast with the old regular rectangular samsung wireless charger? And are these numbers with the phone turned on or off?

2 hours with fast wireless charger with phone on, but if the environment temperature is higher than normal, it could be a little bit slower.

Where did you get it from?
I heard there are slightly different model numbers from Samsung that look a like and you must buy the EP-PN920TBEGUS model to ensure it is the right one for the Note 5 (black; not sure what the SKU is for the white one for the Note 5). They look interchangeable but some of the boxes they come in say S6 and some say Note 5, and I have read that people that have a Note 5 that end up with the one that says S6 on the outside it works poorly... Where did you get yours?

The fast puck is air cooled and the standard puck isn't. That's got to be better for both the puck and phone in terms of managing heat. The standard puck has a 5V/2A wall charger while the fast puck comes with a 9V/1.67A wall charger which will fast charge the phone on USB. I'm not defending Samsung's pricing but you are getting better features for the increased price.
I am on Verizon and since I got the phone, there hasn't been any OTA updates. Now I don't know if I should buy the new fast charging unit to try since it might have the same behavior of shutting off and blinking blue.

By cooled you mean fan cooled?
Great, something else to make noise!
I have an Echo string trimmer (58V) and that charger has a fan that's quite loud. Of course at capacity (>100 Wh) it's going to need active cooling.
And yes, it's high, there will be aftermarket ones on AMZN for under $40.
I have the stadium three coil that works perfectly now. The phone gets fairly warm with that one as it is. TBH I prefer the slower charge since that's how the battery is charged most of the time. If I need a quick pick up on a dead phone it's getting plugged in and charging by wire at 3A. This should maximize battery life in the long run which may matter for those that keep their phones for a while.
Im on verizon and no problems on the non fast charger. Been using it for a good week.

If you are talking about Note 5, actually it never caused over heating problem when i tested Samsung or aftermarket fast wireless charger, it's been the best wireless charging phone ever, with fast charging, the phone only gets little bit warm. The s6 edge+ is the phone you need to be worried about, it caused much heat when charging with fast wireless charger, it slows down the charging speed, i guess the fan inside Samsung wireless charger is specially prepared for s6 edge+. So for s6 edge+ user, Samsung's fast wireless charger acts better than aftermarket fast wireless charger without fan.
Here is what the manual says about the fan

Wireless charging easier?

Is having a wireless charger truly easier than just plugging it in? I've also heard of people using a charger in places like under a table or couch and being able to charge their device without seeing the charger. Is this true? Cool if so!
I Just Got the Speigen one last night. Its nIce To sit down when going to bed. It IS slow though. I have the ampere app which measures charging. When on the Samsung wired charger input hovers around 1000 to 1200mah. On the wireless it is all over the place from 100 to 350mah. I've seen it as low as 10mah. So it's really something to just set it on before bed unless the Samsung on has a much better charging Rate. I got that one half price in exchange for a review so the Samsung one may be in my future if it charges a lot faster. It does however work through my ottorbox. Those higher numbers are bare phone though with no case. This one is supposed to be strong due to the 3 coil design. I call BS.
Now there are websites that sell the 3 coil parts so that you can make your own or integrate it into furniture. I'm thinking about ordering it so I can build it into my center console

It would be something like this to make your own.

You really can build into furniture? Cool!!
I have both the Samsung Fast Charging and Choetech Fast Charging wireless chargers and love them both. For me, they both charge fast... comparable to the charger that comes with Note5 I have and S6 E+ my wife has. I have no complaints from either about their performance.

Get the ampere app and see what kind of charging rates you get please. I'd be curious to see

It's easier once you get the hang of the "charge zone" on your phone. If you don't set it down properly on the charger then it may not charge.
I have one at work and at home. I just set it down and don't have to have and loose usb charging cord hanging around when I am not charging.
Does anyone know a good wireless charger that its light can be turned off while charging? I can't stand lights on when i'm trying to sleep at night.
I made an accessory for mine. It fits the case perfectly and provides perfect alignment every time, even in complete darkness. Engineers, pay attention:

The three coil design only means a larger charging area, I have the same charger, unless yours is broken I don't know what your are calling bs on. Compared to my old ghost 100 that I had to meticulously place my nexus 6 on this one is pretty much just drop the phone on it, landscape or portrait and it charges fine.
I have a glass table in front of my TV that something like this would work great on. Now that they are so much cheaper than before, any recommendations?

Looking for a good fast wireless charger at a GREAT price!

Hello guys,
Can you please suggest a good reliable wireless fast charger pad for my Note 5?
Thanks!
Check out @polish_pat 's thread. It's a $20 wireless charging pad from Amazon. Got one myself and it works like a charm.
One caveat, however, is that I noticed the "sweet spot" for this charger is much smaller that with others I've had. I'm not sure if this is a side-effect of the fast charging, or poor design. Regardless, it's now a staple on my desk.
Agreed^^^

Just order one of these for $10(with code) from Amazon. Looks like it has very good reviews. We will see...
The best one I have found is the Choetech fast wireless charger. Good for by the bed since the charging light dims in the dark. Also connects every time. I also have the Yootech and it gets frustrating trying to find the sweet spot.

I received both chargers and seem to be working great! I paid $38 for both of them but there was ni charger included. I'm using the one that came with the phones. Any suggestions for the optimal use of this charger?

Well they are Genuine Samsung Fast Wireless charger. They perform as well or as bad as the one that is sold for $50 with no charger. It does not overheat or at least not yet. Jajaja! I will keep you posted.
This is the one I have. http://amzn.to/1pkVbTp
It works really well, full speed too if you use it with the charger that came with your note.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B015XF17VM/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1 this is the one i just purchased. It was a shot in the dark because it was so cheap but honest i was very impressed. It worked perfectly! I am using the stock wire and wall charger but it definitely provides wireless fast charging for only 13 bucks. It does like to be in a particular spot but who cares!?!? For the price you cant go wrong.

I have it sitting on my desk right now, and through a case it is charging via fast charge.
As long as you have it plugged into a fast charge capable adapter it will fast charge.
@shhuhs Mine works great so far. Cheap, steady and fast! I think you can contact Choetech to ask for a replacement.
I recently bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018QW09Z4/
It has a huge sweet spot, supports wireless fast charge, comes with a QC 2.0 wall adapter & cable, and only costs $19.95.
