After some failures, I finally flashed Stock 5.0.2 (downgraded from Android 6.0) for backing of DRM Key / TA Partition.

All you can try now is go and flash the factory firmware stock (according previous android version 5.0.2 or 6.0)
Factory firmware flashing doesnt require bootloader to be unlocked so u can try this

As I previously said (according to your previous android version means when phone is dead then whatever is the android version (5.0.2 or 6.0) you need to flash the files.)
For eg.
If (your phone is on 5.0.2) then
you need to flash stock 5.0.2 firmware.
elseif (your phone is on 6.0) then
you need to flash stock 6.0 firmware.
endif.
Note: Don't flash wrong files, else it's gonna brick the device.
Don't ever downgrade from latest android version to previous.
Thanks

So you can try again but with right things right files and carefully.

You can start without lock/unlocking BL.
Before 7.1.1 came out there was a full explanation on how to use flashtool to flash an ftf file and what files you needed to flash afterwards to gain root and custom recovery.
There was an update on how to do it for OS 7.0.
This thread seems to be gone.
Can somebody show me this thread again?
I'm trying to update to 7.1.1 and with a workaround this should be possible with flashtool but nothing works for me.
When I want to reflash the latest 7.0 flashtool very quickly says it's done, leaving my phone softbricked.
I know I can use sony's flashtool to install 7.1.1 but how to proceed then to gain root, twrp and another kernel, is there some explanation on how to do this or is there something else than flashtool (androxydes or sony's) to flash the firmware?
same problem, someone please tell us..:crying:

If you want to flash 7.1.1 firmwares using Flshtool by Androxyde, since there's still no fsc file for 7.1.1 (41.2.A.X.XXX), so you will encounter a warning message "WARN - No loader found or set manually. Skipping loader."
To solve this problem, first open your Flashtool and wait for it to sync device database.
Second, go to C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\.flashTool\devices\F81XX rename the file "39.fsc" to "41.fsc"
Then Flashtool can flash 7.1.1 firmwares successfully.
NOTICE: Once you closed Flashtool, you need to do things above again.
I just found that Androxyde has uploaded the FSC script 21 hours ago.
So you don't need extra actions now. Just use Flashtool as usual and it may work.

I'd suggest HurUpdater: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ho...h-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279/page111
OTAs do work with an unlocked bootloader, but not with root or custom kernels.
Does this works with the P10? In the post i ddin´t found the P10.
And if it works, wich zip file i have to choose? And i have root
Thanks
Try my guide (Tutorial #2, Oreo to Oreo)
After that do a factory reset with eRecovery (boot with Vol+ and connected USB).
What also should work is flashing the system.img manually via fastboot.
For this extract the system.img from the correct firmware version with Huawei Update Extractor.
Connect your phone to your PC, boot into fastboot and flash with "fastboot flash system PATH\TO\SYSTEM.IMG".
After that do a factory reset with eRecovery (boot with Vol+ and connected USB).
Note for the next time: backup your system partition via TWRP before flashing the custom rom.
Also note that a factory reset is needed, without your phone won't boot, so backup your personal data before doing it.

Yes, it works on the P10. You can download the files with the firmware finder app. I'd recommend the newest oreo version for your customisation (e.g. B382 for C432).
But Jannomag's solution should work equally well.
Wich Jannomag´s thread?
Do you have the link, please?

Possibly you renamed the wrong customisation file (i did it once for the 09 while I needed the 29).
Which one did you download? And did you flash manually or did you use my script?
Download my oeminfo, it's from VTR-L29C432 Version 8.0.0.380, while the version doesn't really matter.
Flash it via TWRP using "Install" and "Use Image". Flash it to oeminfo partition. Then do my update script again.
I followed the guide to do Oreo to Oreo - basically wanting to get from custom Rom (fRomFuture B370) back to stock, so I chose the same firmware version to extract. Flashed everything with the script and it went fine and it boots and works.. but
The resolution seems to be off, too low and the right side of the screen is unresponsive to touch (about 1cm )
EDIT- Rolled back to fRomFuture B370 for now - need to find a way to get back to stock, as want to move on to Openkirin ROM instead
HI, i have a vtr-l29 root, i want to unroot(version oreo), how do i do it? what do i need to flash?. thank you Alex
Hi,
I experienced black rear camera bug on Official LOS16 (I have to admit that i had made backup and tested carbon and LOS17) Now i installed 17 to test if is it ROM problem but i think it is unfortunatelly hardware problem. I saw other threads and searched internet and decided to install stock branded marshmallow, lock bootloader (Yes, I had backup TA before UB) and send it to official Sony service because I should still have warranty.
But...
I don't know how to install stock ROM. I downloaded branded software from XperiFirm and stopped there. How to flash it and not brick device? Newflasher is for newer models. Flashtool needs .ftf file. I searched how to convert XperiFirm package to .ftf on other model but there is step where you have to decrypt some files (I couldn't find them in downloaded software package).
I thought about second option - format and wipe in twrp all internal partitions and use Xperia Companion Software Repair. Actually I don't know does it work properly with UB devices...
I decided to go to the unofficial Sony devices service if it'd be problem with sending it to official Sony service.
What do you suggest? Is it easy and cheap enough repair for unofficial service not to damage device? I have no tools in home neither any preferences or experiences to do that by myself. Should I skip installing stock and go straight to the unofficial service?
If you suggest relocking device please help me and write step by step, noob friendly instruction how to flash XperiFirm package by flashtool or post made that way tutorial.
If you can help me, thank you!
If you use Xperifirm within Flashtools, it should download and automatically repackage it to an FTF file.

Thank you so much! I think it'll help me solve the problem :good:
After long brake I decided to flash stock, after I got problems with lineage.
Flashtool downloaded and prepared necessary files and flashed successfully firmware. (as you said it should :good: )
Next when I reboot, got bootloop.
Tried Xperia companion, it said that my phone is unlocked and it won't proceed
So tired flash twrp from NeoArians lineageos17 thread using fastboot flash recovery
Nothing and reboot to stock with bootloop
Tried to boot in twrp using command fastboot boot
Black screen and force shutdown
Tried to flash another firmware branded for my country
Again bootloop
Maybe there is another ftf which I should flash, not that one from xperifirm?
Hmh I'm run out of ideas, please help me.
Summary What I have:
-Xperia Z3 Compact with not working camera and flashed stock firmware.
-Bootloop
-ta partition backup
-working flashtool, xperifirm and Xperia companion
-Adb and fastboot
If you know what I did wrong, please tell me. I'd be very grateful if someone help me

For every bootloop of sony device use Emma (flashtool from sony). It's cure for everything.
EDIT: it will of course delete everything from a device.

I rooted my phone 2 weeks ago. While backing up and restoring Dem keys, I broke something I don't kno. Now every custom rom I install boots and gets stuck at Phone is starting and then reboots. Tried LOS 16, 17.1 and Pixel experience rom. But result is the same. Sony firmware boots perfectly, Twrp works, but custom roms don't.
Is it possible to wipe everything , all partitions and repair them using TWRP? I kno that option exists in Twrp and I have drm keys backed up. But woud that solve the problem I face with custom roms?

To start over use the Flashtool, Newflasher, or even PC Companion. There is even Sony EMMA when something really messes up.

Boot.img is part of rom zip file. With all 3 roms I tried, there was no instruction to flash boot separately. It's always flash recovery and then flash rom using recovery.
I have already use flashtool and newflasher. That's how I rooted my phone. Both of them are successful in flashing stock sony firmware. But the custom roms are in zip file. Don't kno of its possible to flash those using flashtool.

I tried this but the result was same. Rom boots upto the lock screen. Then when I swipe it shows: phone is starting and goes into bootloop. I even tried an older version of PE Rom whic contain s only img files but again same result.
You kno initially, after I unlocked the bootloader I just installed stock rom and installed LOS on top of it as per guide. It worked well. I coud go into menu and see apps.
But I panicked that I had forgotten to restore drm keys. Instead of first checking camera, I went back and restored the Ta partition and repeated the steps after it upto installation of rom and since then I have faced problems . Restoring ta partition and flashing stock rom after it is where I have made a mistake and broken something. Can this be fixed with twrp. I kno there are options in twrp to format & repair partitions. Coud that help to repair what ever that was broken?

No more than the Flashtool, Newflasher or PC Companion, so I wouldn't even consider using TWRP. Check your service menu for the status of your DRM keys, flashing them is a one time process so if they have been successfully restored there is no need to flash them again.
Use Sonys Flashtool to repair, and start over. If you're still having issues, then user error is at play here. What command in fastboot did you use to flash the kernel?

Which kernel are you speaking about? I had backed up Ta image using renoroot exploit and restored it using:
adb pull /data/local//tmp/TA-unlocked.img
adb push TA-locked.img /data/local/tmp
Then in window with temp root prompt:
cd /data/local/tmp
de if=TA-locked.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/TA
sync
sync
Reboot phone
But actually, when I checked my phone just now and that tmp directory seems empty. So, does that mean TA didn't get restored properly? Is that why I am facing problems? Stock roms seem to be working fine.
As for sony's own flashtool, I have it installed. But thought it doesn't offer any different functionality than newflasher or old flashtool? Woud sony flashtool help me go back to square 1 and make my phone as it was before rooting so that I can do everything again properly?

So, now forget your drm keys for a minute, and do the following.
1. Use Sonys flashtool to reset your phone. Make sure you've backed up what you need to.
2. Using fastboot, flash both the kernel of whatever rom you wish to use, and TWRP.
3. Following the instructions of the rom you want to flash, install the rom using twrp. You may want to read them first to ensure you're using the required stock firmware that you will be flashing over.
Have you tried NOT restoring TA partition? It isn't needed with custom ROMs (as far as I know).

On another note, now that Android 11 is out, do you think we will get a rom based on it for Xz1 compact? I even had a thought of skipping 10 and going for 11 based rom.
