Flashing unlocked phone

Just a quick question. Hopefully someone knows the answer.
I bought an unlocked phone. If I flash the ROM to one of the ones from here, is the phone going to stay unlocked or do I have to unlock it again.
Thanks for your help.

The phone will remain unlocked as in use any network but read flashing requirements as to spl/hspl or you will brick your phone
Great. Thanks for your response.

How to unlock xperia x8

Hello everybody. This is my first post in this forum and first of all I want to thank everybody for the great work they do everyday.
I have a sony ericson xperia x8 locked with a network code. I want to unlock my phone and use it with any other sim. I've done several researches in internet, but i could't find any solution to my problem. I'm sure that this network lock has something to do with the software of the phone. I've unlocked the bootloader, flashed a costum room, but nothing happened.
I'm sure that someone in this forum is able to help me and other people that have the same problem to unlock our phones. I'm sure that this has something to do with the software of the phone. Is there any way to delete all the software of the phone and install everything again??
I want to thank everybody for the answers.

The network lock is at the bootloader. To unlock the phone you need to modify the bootloader. Do you know any tool that can modify the bootloader, or some other way to do it? Thanks.

I've already payed to unlock my xperia x8. Theydid the job for 10 euro. What they did was reload a new modified bootloader and that was it. It was done with usb cable and a software downloaded by the site that offered the unlocking. So the network lock has something to do with the bootloader. I just wanted to know if there is any way to modify the code of the bootloader and reload the new modified bootloader.
Anyway thanks to everybody for the answers , and I hope this post might help other people that have the same problem. Mabay it can be found a way to modify the bootloader and offer a free unlocking for the other users. Thanks again everyone.

Bootloader, dear bootloader.

Hello XDA guys! I'm a new user, or a noob :silly:
Sadly, i have 11w44 so I "can't" unlock my bootloader, but a long time ago, i didn't know it and did it. The nAa recovery worked, and I had rebooted the device and It's still alive today. But, when I wanted to put a rom it didn't start the rom, just enter to the nAa recovery again, so I entered in panic and relocked the bootloader AGAIN. I want to unlock again but I don't know...
I unlocked the bootloader in that time or just change the recovery? If I did once time, its safe to do it again? Thanks you a lot!
Sorry for my bad English I'm studying but...
P.D: In two months I'm going to change my phone...

The time I tried long time ago, I unlocked the bootloader or just changed the recovery?
Hey, however, thanks for responding!
If you ask me, I wouldn't try it.

Have you flashed any custom kernels? If yes then you unlocked bootloader. If no then no your bootloader still locked. Check with s1tool and let us know

I think yes I have installed a custom kernel, but I can't install a rom because the roms I tried in that moment aren't compatible with nAa... After that I relocked the bootloader again... So I think my bootloader is locked know... I will see when I arrive to home.. Thanks a lot guys! I really aprecciate it!
Sad, sad, sad...
Sadly, my bootloader is locked, I unlocked the bootloader once and I was lucky. I'm not going to try again because I think it's more safer to play a Russian Roulette and I love my phone instead is a little old
Thank a lot guys! I really aprecciate it! You can close the thread

[Q] Two questions regarding bootloader and rooting

This has been discussed many times before, but I have seen conflicting answers to these questions. I hope that by asking them again I can get a consensus from everyone.
Questions
1) Do you need to unlock your bootloader to be able to root your SP phone? Most people say yes, others think no.
2) If you need to unlock your bootloader, is it possible to do it when you have "bootloader unlock allowed: no" setting? Most people say no. For what it's worth, my phone is not SIM locked.
Thanks.

1) You don't need to unlock bootloader to root your SP.
2) You cannot unlock the bootloader, if you have "Bootloader Unlock Allowed: No"
Thanks, msainani.
On the one hand, it is good news that I can root without unlocking the bootloader.
But does this mean I cannot change ROMs or update the OS? What would be I be able to do with a phone that is both rooted and unlocked versus a phone that is rooted but locked?

Question Unlock bootloader instantly?

Hi friend,
Is there a method to not wait the 7 days to unlock the bootloader?
Thanks
NO
How sad ... I'll still have to wait four days! They never seem to pass ..
