Top volume I find it's very loud, but a little distorted. Drop down one level and it's still loud enough but clarity improves
The speakers are very loud, specially in theater mode, it's perhaps 3x louder and more detailed than an A9
while you don´t matter the ring sound you will be fine
When you hear music is good but not so loud that M8/M9 even M7, IN HEADPHONES ARE VERY VERY GOOD
but if you expect a good ringtone sound...forget it, in this configuration the ringtone only sound the lower speaker ( When the phone rings)
the ring call sounds muffled and very low, same for notifications, alarms and messages
don´t think place a song like ringtone.... this will be sound TERRIBLE
I don't understand how people calling the speaker loud. I find it a bit opposite. While I cannot say the music coming out of the speakers is low (definitely can't call it loudest), the vocals or speech in the youtube videos are definitely not loud at all. I find quite hard time listening to youtube reviews videos in a room with a ceiling fan running. I am using Insertcoin Rom.

Much Louder
it is much louder than other cells but it is my most fav cell phone

Loudness to me seems quite average, but pretty clear and non-distorted. Then again, I don't think I thought the HTC 10 seemed that loud.

I literally just got my HTC 10 today and I found this to be the case too... at first. I'm not sure what it was, but after updating YouTube, the volume went through the roof.

It seemed to. I don't know if it was that or something else, but basically I was shocked at how soft the speakers were, then YouTube closed and updated, then I reopened and played music at a decent volume.
Weird huh.
Everybody noticed how top speaker is way to quiet comparing to bottom bass speaker? In Black Player EX to balance the both speakers even I need to lower the bottom speaker to about 15-20% to have them both at about same level.
Volume is average. Not much louder or quieter than most phones I've had in the last few years. It certainly seems clearer though than other phones where their volume is definitely louder. (They tend to distort at high volumes, limitation of physics with space constraint within the phone.)

+1
yes, the top speaker is designed for low frequencies and the bottom for bass, for this the upper speaker never will sound with the same power and for to balance you have to apply more balance setting

Overall I've just found the volume to be a little soft to be marketed as "BoomSound". My girlfriend's iPhone 6 has a louder speaker! And the quality is great, but sometimes sounds... I dunno, hollow? It's a bit like I'm listening through a pipe, or in a concert hall or something.

So many HTC10 users and no one bothers to check in 5 seconds if the top speaker is on purpose much more silent than bottom speaker in playing even a simple stock ringtone
-_-
With standard htc ringtones it seems to be otherwise you claim. Upper speaker gets higher volume. Probably reason is that htc intend to use trebble & whistle like ringtones which use more upper speaker involved in producing sound.

Just the opposite here with music ringtones, Game of Thrones mp3 and 2 others are louder and clearer than any music player including Pandora. And both speakers are being used when phone rings, alarms and messages. So that's not true.

Hello everyone got my silver pre order yesterday...does anyone noticed the boomsound is not as loud?
I mean I have the volume all the way up and I was under impression to be a bit more louder am I missing something are there a setting somewhere I can't seem to find it again I tried putting volume all the way up maybe defect anyone?
It should be deafening, if you put it to your ear
So that's what I'm supposed to do?
;p nah to be honest, if it's no blowing you away then it's faulty! It's hard to explain how loud it should be...
pick a song I'll record it for you so you can hear the sound of mine
I agree with the others, it startled me upon the first startup.
This is probably the first phone that I don't have the volume up to 100% all the time. In contrast, I'm using around 30% volume and still feel its loud..
If you don't feel its loud, go replace it
Yep that's EXACTLY what I was saying I mean it's loud but not like in the youtube review videos that I've seen on the Internet where everybody's keeping it below hundred percent I'm at like a hundred percent and not happyit's definitely not blowing me away its loud though but not blowing me away loud
I find it loud for ringtones and notifications but music and video is not louder than SGS3

Don't compress your mp3 files or video files! Make sure the bitrate is high enough.
I am reading threads that's complaining about how loud the volume is even on the lowest setting yet I find this thread stating that the volume isn't that loud on the highest setting. :/
Kinda contradicting to be honest.
It's honestly too loud.
I was trying to watch a movie last night in bed and it was so loud on 3%!
It all depends on the audio and video files you are playing also. Low quality music is going to sound bad regardless of what device it's playing out of

Best to turn beats off when in a big room or a loud enviroment when using the speakers.
Beats on is great when I'm at home and it's not too noisy as you can really hear the low end.
But to be honest I usually leave beats off unless I'm using headphones.

So now it's the files all I'm saying is on videos I saw on YouTube they all have to lower their volume down I'm like at 100% not as blow me away loud just wondering if anyone experiencing the same
I agree with you. Louder wouldn't hurt.
Louder? When im in my room and i have the sound on the lowest setting im still thinking i'll wake everyone up. That thing is really really loud. Im wishing for a setting with even less sound.
Dude I'm definitely not getting that lol it's just loud like any other gs 3 phone lol

So only in youtube it doesn't sound loud?
Did you try the ringtones? Even thou I did not get my phone yet since it will ship Monday, I was testing the AT&T one they had on demo. Just simply playing Ringtone at the lowest setting was quite audible and didn't want to put it up louder since I was the only customer in the store and there was a bunch of employes standing nearby in proximity to where I was.
Probably be safe to say if the ringtones are not loud either, then it could be problem.

Don't get me wrong, it's loud. It's loud enough. However while streaming music for instance, if it could go up a notch or 2 more, it would be even better imo.
Ok so here is another question boomsound or no boomsound?.is it me or boom sound off it's louder like a bit?
Anyone agree?

Definitely. It's louder with it off, but fuller/richer when it's on.

Speakerphone calls have an echo problem for the other party. They will hear their own voice. I have witnessed this on regular calls, Skype, and Hangouts. Somehow WeChat calls don't have this problem. So far, this is the only downside I have found to this phone.
Weak speaker, but usable
Some app to increase a bit the sound of notifications and calls. I listen rather low ...

To increase the maximum volume, install an EngineerMode app from the play store - they all seem to be about the same. Then follow these instructions to increase the maximum volumes: http://www.zopomobileshop.com/zopo-rom/how-to-increase-zopo-mobile-phone-mic-loudspeaker-and-ringtone-volume/

ill try that later, we have this as a backup phone that we lend the kids and stuff but wife has been complaining how crappy the quality and level is. the back speaker thing is kinda bad design imo. we are also spoiled by htc phones over the years and this is our first non htc in a long while which have fantastic sound.
now after doing your "mod" is it distorted or does it still sound good? sometimes louder isnt always better.
It makes it louder, but doesn't change the sound quality at all. In my opinion, the speaker is the weakest aspect of this phone. Try adjusting it and see what you think. You can always change it back if you don't like it - you're just adjusting a setting. But for $60, I really can't complain much, and bluetooth works fine.

Worked great, quality isn't the best but for 60 bucks I can't complain. I have used mostly front speaker devices before.

The clarity is good, but i think it should be higher.
Also, the location of speaker donw, sometimes are covered by the hand, wich is not good.
All this as comparation to my Oppo Find 7.
Hello there
Since the very first moment I bought this phone, I am totally satisfied with it. It has high quality sound even in loud volumes. Since its stereo, output sound is so bright and noisless.
And even you may never set volume to the highest level indoor because ofn its loudness...
Gotta lower the volume, it's too loud to be used in public. Privately, however, it BOOMS!
top speaker sound low than bottom speaker
but total is ok

I thought there is double speaker and worried that why not left speaker has no sound! But after realize that it should be microphone but like designed speaker! The location of speaker down, sometimes are covered by the hand, which is not good. And average I' am satisfied its loudness.

It's loud but not clear
Loud but music seems to be flat. I am comparing with my mom's pixel 3 xl but again if you will see the segment in which it was launched, the product seems to deliver and you will have good time watching videos in this device.
Lot of distortion but sound is too damn loud,I am satisfied for the price
Very loud with very noticeable distortion, which is understandable considering it is so loud.
The speaker is loud and does its job. Looses the quality on high volume. But you can hear the audio just fine.
Max Pro M2 Audio Quality
Guys,
I have bought the phone recently, and disappointed with the audio through loudspeaker and headset. It doesn't have pleasing audio coming out with proper bass or treble via speaker. It sounds hollow and keeps shuffling with highs and lows. Anyone experiencing this weird issue or should I place an replacement?
Regards
Dinesh
it was freaking loud, which makes the output distorted.
The Clarity is a bit weak just an OK level speaker
Audio from the sound from speakers is loud. It is not very clear at high volumes. After about 70% volume, it does not get any louder, only the noise in audio increases.
Asus Dolby equalizer provided by XDA member Dhairy does improve the quality, with more depth in audio and a bit better bass imo.
Edit
Also supports Qualcomm AptX HD now on Bluetooth

The speaker sounds the same as every small phones, lack of bass(low), to much of mid n treble(high) but loudness is good. 50% volume is enuf for me to watch movie alone in bedroom. 80% volume if want to sound up the room.
The bass is worse than other flagship like S20, Apple, or Huawei. No matter how you tune, the bass just not there. Tune up the bass will only mute the mid n high. The Jazz equalizer can bring the mid n high down to a balance while other equalizers completely mess up the balance.
The only thing I enjoy of is the dual speaker, earpiece+bottom speaker.
Voice calling sounds great n clear as of 2020 standard.
The speaker is the only con/disadvantage I have to complain about this phone.
I came from the mate 20x and It was a bit of disappointment, but these speakers sound good. A huge improvement from Samsung.
Configured as Dolby Atmos, Movie. And the equalizer to Jazz, they are really good, even better in some instances than the Mate 2O X. And there is barely any difference vs the 20 Ultra. Also sounds better than the 20 Ultra in some instances.
