LG G Flex D959 branded phone with D950 software? - LG G Flex

So I bought a G Flex on swappa after having owned 2 previously (its a pretty sweet phone :good: ). This phone is branded as a D959 on the body but the software running on the device is D95020F on KK. It wouldn't be such a big deal but I'm unable to carrier unlock it as I get the message " This phone is permanently locked and can not be unlocked" when I enter the number "2945#*950#".
My question is will I be able to use the LG Flash tool to flash a D959 stock rom and have a working phone or am I SOL and should I return it?
Extra info:
-I tried to flash a recovery using Freedom Flex but I dont believe it is compatible with the D950 KK variant. I believe it doesn't have a custom recovery.
-The phone arrived rooted.

Im having the same problem
is there a solution i can follow?

Is it safe to upgarade my LG G2 VS98026A

Hi,
I'm totally newbie at this field. I've bought LG G2 Verizon edition which is unlocked. I'm using it now with LycaMobile network operator, it works perfectly.
I want to upgrade my phone to Android 5 version, so I launched LG software Updater which is embedded with the phone. It has detected a new upgrade version, but with the same name (VS98026A).
I want to know if I apply this update whether I'll loose my unlock, and the phone will not word with any other network operator ?
Is it possible to upgrade the system to Android 5 ?
Kind regards.

Does anyone know how to unlock the bootloader for LG G FLEX?

Does anyone know how to unlock the bootloader for LG G FLEX?
there is no boot unlock...
There is no unlock as stated by alex. However there is root for both 4.2.2 and 4.4.2 Kingroot(roots) and freedom flex (installs recovery) w/ bump. So only bumped roms can be installed. If freedom flex doesn't work search the forums for the recovery and use flashify to install the recovery. Bump is currently our only way for roms atm. Atleast till our devs unlock the BL.
Sent from my Sony Xperia Z Ultra , rooted and Xposed!
Secondary Device : LG G Flex 4.4.2 rooted, stock, TWRP 2.8.0.0, and Xposed. Keep on Flexin!

rooting lg g flex

just rooted my lg g flex using kingo root and verified it with root checker. the problem is that every time i reboot my g flex i lose root because i have a locked boot loader. how do i unlock the boot loader on my g flex LG-D950 att version.
same here. i have the sprint version.
use kingroot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2618232&page=75
Bootloader can not be unlock on the at&t version. Look for freedom flex link it's a mod to allow you to use twrp. It's just a bootloader workaround. I think the app part is still on the playstore called freedom flex...
