Hello Everyone,
My mom just got back from china and got a present for my birthday.
A p10 plus dual sim 128 gb.
The only problem is there is no google playstore and the HiApp stays in Chinese despite the fact the whole phone is in another language.
Can anyone help me step by step with these issues, please ?
I have a VKY-AL00C00B157, emui 5.1 ANDROID 7.0
Thank you very much.
Ldes.
You should wait for someone to post its google apps or you can reflash it by changing the region.
Until then use a third party marketplace
Hi, from the chinese forum the latest update to P10 seems to include google play store, which is hidden in Add Account section in settings. Maybe you can have a try in that direction?
Hi. I got the standard P10 (not the plus) 128GB dual sim Chinese model (also a birthday present!). I was able to get Google play store running by installing "GMS Installer" from the HiMarket app store included on the phone. After that you can also install Google Play Store from the HiMarket app. I think there must be at least some core google services shipped, laying dormant, in the Chinese ROMs because no rooting or flashing was necessary.
This was good enough to getting most the google related stuff (gmail, youtube, etc.) working. However there is a lot of bloat on the ROM from apps that Huawei includes in the Chinese ROM, and many of the apps (even the HiMarket app) that do not work in English. I couldn't get voice search integration working as Huawei hardcoded that to use their own HiVoice service in (and it only supports Chinese) and notifications didn't seem to be working properly either. Also the HiMarket and Google play store apps step on each others toes a bit in trying to manage updates for your installed apps. It was adequate, but it just felt all a bit tacked on rather than something that was seamlessly integrated.
So in the end I decided to rebrand and reflash the phone with a European ROM using the funky Huawei site. It's a paid service so I can't really say much more but I am sure you can find it easy. It worked well and I am glad I did as the there is far less bloat and crapware, the google integration is better and google assist is the native voice search.
Any ideas for rooting?
Yes, you can simply install Google Play Store in HiMarket. You can find all Google Apps there. If you want to sync your Google contacts, you need to install 联系人同步服务 , just copy and paste these Chinese Characters and search it in HiMarket. After installing it, you need to go to the App settings to grant all the permissions in 联系人同步服务 (Google contact sync). Everything then works fine.

A friend of mine have similar problem, have a china P10 and wants to flash a Hong Kong ROM, is it possible to do this using sites like funkyhuawei.com.
I'm sure the op's also wants to know the same answer.
Reading the forum, members are flashing the L29 rom on a L09 phones to get the dual sim function, isn't this the same.

Quite difficult, you have to install the Google Play Service in recovery mode.

Huawei phones in China already included Google Framework in it. I am using Honor V8 from China. I just install Google Play Store from HiMarket and it works without any problem.

what is the default search engine, is it baidu or google, to make it simple, can you just flash a non china rom on a phone from china.

Baidu.
You can flash a non-china ROM but not directly.... There are a few procedures required. The device needs to be rebranded and to do that you need to unlock the boot loader and install a custom recovery (TWRP), then overwrite the oeminfo partition. Then you can flash an international ROM. I used the funky Huawei method to do this.

I installed Nova Launcher. I can simply use Google search.
It seems that Mate 9 can do it. I think P10 is the same.

Hi, any chance that any VTR-AL00 owner could backup and post its oeminfo partition? (TWRP could do it easy). That is the only partition missing that stock roms do not include but are required to rebrand. AL00 models update faster than European variants (they have newer Nougat and Oreo builds at this point). There is a oeminfo collection thread in the ROM development section, but VTR-AL00 is missing.
Thank you in advance
Hi, I also recently both the Cc9, overlooking that is a Chinese wersion only, but after a bit of struggle managed to install the Google apps and all was working fine for a while. Now when I try to use some Google apps I get a message that there is an error with Google Play Services and it needs attention but when I tap on the message nothing happens. If anyone has experienced the problem and has a solution that will would be great.
Download this first app with chinese name from xiaomi store ( now called " get apps " ) and it will install everything you need for google play services

Thank you very much for your help. Changing the permissions did help and most apps work, although the error message still appears, but there's still problems with some apps. One of the main issues was the Google Pay app, that's why I both this phone instead Redmi Note 7 the NFC function, and changing the permissions allowed me to open the app, set up a payment card and at the end a message came up that the phone can not be used for store payments because it is rooted or altered in some way. I think I will just wait for another rom to come out. It is a nice phone so hopefully Xiaomi will release a global version.

Google pay will not work on CC9 with the official China rom, they don't get it certified by google since google isn't used in China. You'll need to flash a custom rom like xiaomi.eu and even then it can be difficult to get it working. CC9 will never get a an official global rom, if the phone is released globally it will probably be A3 pro (android one) so no miui global rom.

The 3.12.0 EU
You must install it via twrp
Cc 9 will surely get a global version when this device released with name mi 9 lite. Then we'll have a fully google certified rom
Now my case is different ... I have the Mi 9 Lite version, I want to install the China Stable version, then install google and play store services, is it possible? Thanks in advance

Hello there, so this is a simple guide to get PS4 Remote Play working on Rooted phones.
Requirements:
1. A Phone with unlocked BL

Steps:

Head to magisk hide and hide all sony apps, like PS store, messages, and remote pay.
Head to settings of the manager and chose Hide Magisk Manager, this is the only way I got the remote play to work.

If remote play already saw you're rooted, it'll remember you're rooted even if you unroot. Clear the storage of remote play or uninstall then reinstall it so it has to check again.
Hi my friend! I have tried many times!
1 Uninstalled app,
2rebooted device,,
3 reinstalled app
4 hidden app from magisk
5 hidden magisk
6 open app
Same error!!
I have lineage unofficial custom rom! Nougat 7.1
Galaxy tab 3 8.0
This simulates build fingerprint of Huawei device. My theory is this works then because Huawei messed up with implementing the new SafetyNet checks correctly on this device. This is why Google made a exception to check the old way for devices with this fingerprint. But I am just guessing... Let's see how long this works

The official app don't seem to work for rooted at all.
So go to play store or browser and download a awesome app called "PSPlay". It works for rooted devices and also allows mobile data use if set up right.

I'm looking to get an Android phone but I don't want any google apps or services on it including the play store. Is there a Magisk module that can remove all the google apps and services and play store from a phone? I did a search for "remove google apps" and other such searches but could not find what I'm looking for. I see that the Aurora app store is an alternative play store. Is it safe to use?
Thank you for your advice!
Easiest would be to just flash a custom ROM and don't bother with installing Gapps. Voilà, free of Google apps and services.

Thank you for the reply. I agree but from my research I could not find custom ROMs available for the Pixel 3 that are officially supported and stable. Please recommend one if there is one that is officially supported and stable. If there is not I would like to know the steps after I root a phone to remove all the google apps and services.
https://f-droid.org/app/org.droidtr.deletegapps
But its very likely to experience bugs and problems (like force closes). The best option is to use a custom Rom
Or you can try the Nanodroid Module (to install microG), probably better than just remove GApps.
AuroraDroid/-store works as it should. I don't know what you mean by 'safe'.

Thank you for the reply. Ok I really would rather use a custom ROM. LineageOS to be precise but there is no official support for the Pixel 3. That's why I'm asking if there is a way, after rooting the phone, to remove all the google apps and services. You mentioned MicroG but does that actually remove all the google apps and services? I looked up MicroG and it looks to be for people who still want to use google apps and services but securely. I don't use anything google apps or services. There are some Microsoft apps I need for work so that's why I asked about Aurora. When I asked if Aurora is safe I meant does Aurora track or do anything unsecure.
Is there a LineageOS custom ROM that does work with the Pixel 3? If not then do I use MicroG to remove all the google stuff?
Sorry to ask so many questions. I've spent hours researching this stuff and there is so much info I read up on that I just need some clarity. Thanks for your patience.

"Official" and "unofficial" are quite often just terms to clarify, if the builder is part of the dev-team and/or if the Rom/Code is reviewed by one of the dev-team. It is possible, that an unofficial Rom isn't working as good as an official would, but I experienced this quite rarely.
BUT: unofficials usually don't have the possibility to OTA update.
But in the end, "official" and "unofficial" doesn't have to mean much
So my tip: Install and try some Roms, unofficial ones too ^_^

MicroG is an open source and privacy focused Google Services Framework. Its goal is to let apps work, which rely on GApps. I suggested it to grant a bit more stability to your un-googled stock Rom. Because the GApps are most likely deep buried into your (Stock)System, which can lead to severe instability and crashes if you just forcibly rip them out.
At least that's my experience. I never had a usable system with a blank removal of GApps
On a custom Rom its not necessary, if all apps you use work without GApps

No, Aurora is safe as far as I know (I'm using it myself)

I can try to check later. An "official" Lineage is quite unlikely, but maybe I find smth else
But yes, if you can't find a fitting Rom, you'll have to try with manually debloating/microG.
You can try to debloat your phone slowly with "Terminal Debloater" like someone already suggested.
One App/Service after another. If smth breaks, you can simply revert it, because this works systemless
No problem, just ask XDA is a forum and I'm here to help
Lineage is available for Pixel 3. It is unofficial, but built by someone on the Lineage team. Check the Pixel 3xl forum. Most custom roms are posted there, but are actually for both devices. The thing is, most custom roms for the device come with GAPPs included (Including Lineage), so not useful for you. This is getting OT though.

Thank you for the very detailed reply. Very helpful. I decided to get a Oneplus 7T and not a Pixel 3. I did research and found that most custom ROMs for the Oneplus 7T do not officially support Android 10 as well as MicroG and TWRP. The unofficial custom ROMs note that there are bugs and some instability currently. Being a newbie and needing my Oneplus 7T to be reliable as it's my only phone I rather have an officially supported LineageOS with MicroG custom ROM when it's released. Until then I need help figuring out the best method to remove all gapps and services. I don't use any google apps. I do use Microsoft apps so I need those to not only work but be able to send notifications. I also need to have location services work for a non-google maps app and weather app. I would like to keep Oxygen OS as it has some customizations features I like. Am I asking too much? Lol. However, since microG is not supported I don't think I can do what I'm looking for since MicroG removes all gapps and services and replaces them including location services ability and notifications. Does Magisk have a module that can do what I'm looking for?
You'll likely find better help in the OP7T forums:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7t
There is a debloater module you could use for this purpose, you'll find it on the Manager downloads section. Keep in mind that anything you do with a Magisk module is a systemless modification and the files will still be on your device (just masked by Magisk) and will return if you every disable/uninstall the module or remove Magisk. If you want a more permanent solution you'll need to use other means.

It's possible you downloaded the wrong version of the app. If you look at various apps on APKMirror, such as Google Photos, there are many different variants available. You want to use an arm64-v8a version, preferably "nodpi" as that should work with all devices.

There's a new restriction with Android 13 for sideloaded apps not from Play Store, F-Droid and maybe other stores. I ran into it with an apk from Github. Your error doesn't relate but installing from a file manager is a symptom. In any case, if you think this restriction could be part of your problem search ACCESS_RESTRICTED_SETTINGS for a possible workaround.
@Nnik345 here you can find an answer and imo you should ask related questions better here instead of opening a new thread.
