1. Download "TWRP manager" from play store.
2. Open up app, grant root access & set device name to "Sony Xperia Z1" ( just search for 'honami' )
3. Tap "recovery version to install" & choose the latest version of recovery ( v2 didn't work for me )
4. Tap "Install Recovery"
5. It'll install the recovery. ( I got an error though , But it worked )
Then reboot to recovery.... Done... ( u can press volume up to access recovery when booting up )

Try switch to SuperSU
And install Nut Recovery

what do you mean by "latest"? What is your build number?
if you are on .108, simply do this, search for the Easy Root Tool on the cross device section.
1. after downloading, open it up on your pc.
2. make sure your phone has android debugging on, and turn off any android emulator on your pc, and remove any other android devices from your pc (e.g. Bluestacks)
3. connect your z1 to the pc and follow the steps that the root tool tells ya. (choose option to root with superSU) very easy. takes a maximum of 15 minutes.
4. if superSU is not installed yet, go to the playstore and download it. then reboot.
5. then go to nut's thread and download his dual recovery. (optional)
OR
1. Go to NUT's thread and download the dual recovery file,
2. run the installer and choose to install the recovery AND root with superSU.

Root Xperia E1 / E1 Dual from CWM (KitKat 4.4.2)

This is how I rooted my Xperia E1 Dual (C2104).
Steps sounds obvious but it was the simpler I got after searching for solutions on the net so maybe usefull for someone (also only possible by K4sh work in offering CWM versions for E1: CWM for E1. Thanks!)
These steps are intended only for the specified models/firmware:
-Xperia E1 D2005 20.1.A.0.47
-Xperia E1 D2105 20.1.B.2.15
-Xperia E1 Dual TV D2114 20.1.B.0.65
My phone is D2104 20.1.B.2.15 but it worked. (D2104 x D2105 difference is the baseband: D2104 / D2105 difference
You will need:
1- A unlocked bootloader: http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/
2- Download and install the matching CWM custom recovery against your model/firmware version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-e1/general/philz-touch-recovery-xperia-e1-t2941831 using flashtool
3- Boot into CWM recovery, tap 'Power Options' then 'Power Off'. CWM will say you don't have root. Tap 'install root'.
4- Boot again into recovery and choose to power off. If it doesn't warn about missing root so it's done.
5- Download and install SuperSu from Google Play. After you run it for the first time it will say that it needs to install SuperSu binaries. Choose 'OK' and choose SuperSu to reboot device in CWM mode.
6- SuperSu will reboot, install binaries and reboot again into normal system. Enjoy root!
After doing this the CWM keeps working as usual.
This method just uses necessary root files already living in the CWM install (probably).
:cyclops:
Nice tutorial, thanks!
mine is D2005 and current version is 20.1.A.2.14 does this work on it? and if anyone else tried please post here your confirmation

Most probably is that it will not work uploading a boot image compiled from a different firmware version.
Anyway you can try if you like. For _what_ I_ understand_ worst that can happen is phone not booting into Android but you can revert it uploading the original boot/kernel image considering its some D2005 image after all. Either case is you assuming any risk

2. Now install it give permission for root access.
3. Now select twrp and download it and flash it as fotakernel.
4. Now you have twrp as fotakernel.

thx for reply ess arr btw im using stock firnware
Recovery Manager for Xperia™
Replace the boring CWM with TWRP or PhilzTouch Recovery on your Xperia.
Almost all custom kernels and ROMs have the "extract_elf_ramdisk" method embedded in them which allows flashing a recovery.img to the FOTAKernel partition and using this recovery instead of the recovery that comes inside the kernel.
Since most CM/AOKP/PA ROMs come with CWM in the default kernel, it is really helpful in having TWRP or Philz-Touch Recovery on the FOTAKernel.
Another big advantage is, even if the recovery inside the kernel is broken, The FOTAKernel recovery will continue to work.
***NOTE***
***Only for Xperia users using custom ROMs/kernels.*** <---- this one still confusing if it still will work in my stock finware ?
***Works only on rooted and bootloader unlocked phones***
***SUPPORTED DEVICES***
Xperia Z2
Xperia Z1 compact
Xperia Z Ultra
Xperia Z1
Xperia ZR
Xperia Z
Xperia ZL
Xperia Tablet Z (both LTE & WiFi models)
Xperia T
Xperia V
Xperia SP

Problem:
the problem showned is "system.sin error " when flashing.
pls help me friends.........
Use Flashtool v0.9.18.6.
The newer versions don't support Xperia SP.
1-Download this file (cant post it but in youtube type "Update your Xperia SP to Android 4.3 - Using Flashtool" and the frimware is not 12.1.a.1.207) and paste it in the C:\flashtool\frimware
2-Make sure your device is powered off
3-Open flashtool and press the lighting button and select flashmode
4-Select the frimware that you have downloaded
5-A window will pop-up until sometime
6-When the window pops-up,while holding the volume down button connect your device to your PC
7-And wait until the process to finish
8-There you go
Note: You can flash other stock frimwares too.
Note 2: This won't lock your bootloader! It will only flash the stock rom and unroot the device.
Did it helped? Hit the thanks button!

If you have followed this procedure you may experience a bootloop. It is caused by the "enabler". My phone would boot fine before flashing the enabler but after, I was stuck on the Infinix logo. Tried factory format, wiping data, wiping cache, wiping dalvik cache and even flashing the whole ROM whole again, nothing helped. It would boot only before flashing the enabler. I finally got this post on Hovatek and realized one step was missing from this thread on xda. You are supposed to flash back the unmodified preloader, this enabler (modified preloader) can't boot into system, it can only boot into recovery. This is the only step missing here and it's very important. Thank you all. I now have my device rooted.:good:
My device
Infinix hot 2 x510
1GB RAM
Android One marshmallow.
