hi ,
yes ,i had same issue with Smart Stay since Lollipop !
Now on Marshmallow still have issue .
( actually had this issue/ "out of box" since getting my device in October 2015.
Gave up on issue and use 3 rd party app Gravity Screen ( Play store , paid version )
If you check Play store i am sure you will find similar alternatives ?
good luck

I have also same issue with MM and wonder why samsung haven't address that. Its been a very handy feature and its really a shame that flagship devices have this kind of minor persisted problems although we are getting monthly OS patches.

Hi. Bought a Galaxy Gear 1. It's still on Android at the moment. Is it worth upgrading to Tizen? Are there any major advantages or disadvantages? Thanks
Battery is better on Tizen and there are more apps from the store. But it looks like Android is the only way to get it working with Lollipop at least with non Samsung phones.
Thanks for the reply. I'll do a bit more research. I read you can revert back to android but is that 100% or just if your lucky.
Thanks
android
I would say android all the way. I have tried tizen and didn't last long before downgrading. Android has a lot more apps available from play store and is much more versatile. Better battery on tizen perhaps but you can always clock the speed down on android which helps.

I have done it honestly 30 times or more, it works 100% but you have to follow the directions to a T otherwise you end up with touch not working. If that happens just start over, it's happened to me a few times by not booting to recovery.

The Gear I has been on Tizen since July of 2014; almost a year. Do any of the original third party Android apps even still work? I'd imagine Samsung's work to some extent but even they'll sunset as Android isn't a supported OS for the Gear I any longer. If someone's using a Gear with a non-Samsung phone I guess that's different because it's kind of "franken-phone" set up any way. But with all the cheap Android Wear options available that really do work with any Android phone it seems kind of illogical to cling to a Samsung-biased device anyway.
jelly bean
Null ROM is jellybean, jellybean is still very much supported. Just install play store and you have just about any app availiable , screen size permitting.
I think that Android, null rom, have no support for NOTIFICATIONS if Lollipop is on the phone (Note 3). No way to make them work, for me. Tried a lot of Gear Manager versions... :/

I got some real over heating problems with using null 23 Rom for the Samsung gear 1. It continued to get really hot on my wrist and also displayed and over heating icon while charging. It have me hell to revert back to stock android, but I did. Dont know if I did something wrong but I did not try it again.
Very happy with Tizen.
I had such hi hopes for my gear but the app store was hopeless with the exception of watchstyler, upgraded to Tizen 3 days ago and can not believe the difference, Tizen really gives the gear wings. The watch faces in the Tizen app store are REALLY nice and I now have the apps I need, calender, calculater, flashlight and an app that lets me see on my watch through my phones camera. Not sure about the battery life but am so pleased to have upgraded.
I have galaxy s5 mini G800F and i got the 5.1.1
The question is....should i update or not?
And why?
S5 mini, lollipop update
I also have an S5 mini that has downloaded the Lollipop update (without asking). So far I have not installed it, having read many bad reports about it
I'm very happy with lollipop, if you are not happy with it you can go back to kitkat in a almost easy way. Only "problem" I've got is a little less battery lifetime but that could also be a problem of the age of my battery. All other features work so far.

Can some more people please advise as to whether or not the lollipop update should be installed, as I don't want to wreck an otherwise perfectly good phone just because an update has automatically downloaded, keeps prompting me to install it and I cannot delete it !! Thanks

I'm using the stock, not KNOX tripped G880F with abdroid 5.1.1. and I'm happy with it. No risk in Updating from Android 4. I updated right after buying the phone earlier this year. So it was a clean install.
Nevertheless an official update to Marsmallow would also be nice. But since I recently bought the phone, there's no reason for me to trigger KNOX on a working phone, with the risk of loosing my guarantee.
I am using Lollipop for 3 months now. It's a very good OS, I like it but there are 2 things that sometimes occur - 1: when awaking the phone and trying to unlock it I sometimes get "The Fingerprint sensor is not responding. Try again later" and you need a password to unlock your device so it can occur to you. 2: it sometimes lags very hard. It doesn't matter what I do and it occurs different times. In one time, I got it 1 time in a week but after it i got 2 in a day(but after then it's only 1-2 a week again). It can be my phone or I need to do factory reset, IDK. Anyways, I haven't seen any more bugs/glitches/etc.

That is very strange, I am not sure why it will do that....I know Google released an updated version yesterday, I believe, so it may have been a bug.

Install hicare app from play store change your country as Singapore and check firmware update from app register for emui9. 1 and check systems update in settings. I got from this trick a month ago... But no major differences from 9.0 just caaler screen got changed like than small changes
Right lets get a few thing straight ..
1 - changing the country in hicare does nothing . The app cant be fooled !
2 - judging by the lack of response from questions i ask posters and the complete lack of screenshots of their alleged firmware updates
makes me think theres an awful lot of huawei employees on here trying to make the company look good with all the BS about i got the update , i got the update !!
This site used to be great years ago , now all we see is paid trolls !

I used to believe there are software that can find the complete number based on real time lookup. Perhaps, I am wrong.
