iCade cabinet on Tab S2 9.7" - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Does anyone know how to get the icade cabinet controller working on said tablet, or if it's even possible?
I have successfully paired the device with my tab s2 and shows as a recognised device. When paired, the touch screen keyboard doesn't appear on text input as expected, but apps such as mame don't appear to respond to it.
I have successfully paired and used other Bluetooth input devices on this tab, and the icade works on my old iPad.
Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance.

Using stock roms
Forgot to add, I'm using stock roms and unrooted, but if the answer is another ROM, I'm up for that

[Q] Pairing With Think OUtside Bluetooth keyboard?

Recently picked up the G Tab, flashed Vegan and am thoroughly enjoying the device and its capabiliities. I have an old Think outside Bluetooth foldable keyboad. Up until this point i have used it with my HTC Touch Pro 2. I am able to search for the device and the G Tab finds it. It even lists " Think outside Bluetooth Keyboard" in the bluetooth device list. The problem is when I go to pair it asks for a pass code. I have tried both the 1234 and 0000 recommendations but each time it tries to pair it fails. Any assistance in the matter would be appreciated.
PS I have a wireless HP RK906 portable keyboard that works instantly when the receiver is plugged into USB. It is a great keyboard and others may be interested in using it- in terms of portability though i hope i can get the Think Outside keyboard to work.
Cheers forum- flashing and finding answers to my questions has never been so easy.
I've heard many of the Roms are picky of what BT keyboards work. I myself would like to get one that runs on TnT Lite

Here is how I got my Menotek flexible bluetooth keyboard to work on Vegan 5.1.1.
1. Download and install blueinput from the market or find it on Google.
Other bluetooth keyboard software will probably work as well.
2. Turn on your keyboard and press the connect button on the keyboard if there is one.
3. Turn on Bluetooth under settings, wireless & networks and scan for devices under bluetooth settings.
4. Goto settings, language and keyboard. You will see two entires for BlueInput.
Place a check mark in the first entry and click on the second BlueInput entry to get to settings.
5. Click on the spy glass to search for your keyboard. Select your keyboard from the list. This will pair for you.
6. Exit out of settings
7. Long press on any text input field and select Input method and select BlueInput as your keyboard.
I had a few problems with non response at first and had to reboot, but it eventually worked.
Not tested on other ROMS, but should work if you can enable Bluetooth under wireless & networks.

Thank you for the help. Seems like i am getting closer but here is what is going on. Installed BlueInput fine. It finds my Think Outside Bluetooth Keyboard fine. I am able to pair with it as well...even press the CAPS and NUM LOCK keys to turn them on and off in the menu. Here is where it gets strange. It won't type in any field, including office suite. Within office suite when I try to select input method bluetooth keyboard is not an option. When i go to Language and Keyboard settings BlueInput is listed included the settings...but here is the catch - when i select BlueInput im giving a message that says, "This input method myb be able to collect all the text you type, including personal data..etc" but when i press ok it wont select the method! I can hear keystroke sounds when i press buttons but still no typing on web broswer or office suite. Any ideas? Hmmmm!
I am having the SAME exact problem.

I have a Think Outside Keyboard that I use with my HTC Inspire.
- Turn bluetooth on
- set ThinkOutside Keyboard to discovery
- when your device finds your keyboard touch it to pair
- enter 0000 on the device and then 0000 on the keyboard
it should pair up without any problems.
Good Luck!

I have a stoway ultra-slim keyboard made by Think Outside and finally got it to work. At first I used the Blueinput software and I got it to work but not very well. It had quite a bit of lag and I couldn't use any of the 'FN' keys properly. I then found a program in the android market called "Bluetooth Keyboard Easyconnect" and that worked perfectly for me. You may want to check it out to see if it helps.

I followed this method and had success, but I don't know how to configure Android not to use the "shortcuts" on the keyboard.... IE: every time I hit the "e" key it launches my email app.
Any suggestions?

Connect iPAQ BT foldable keyboard with Nook Color?

My Nook Color is running CM-7.0.0-encore from SD. I found my old HP iPAQ Bluetooth foldable keyboard and tried it out. It immediately found the keyboard and paired with it, but says "paired but not connected". Any ideas about what to do next?
I'd love to get this to work, because the keyboard form factor is excellent. I've attached some pictures.
Thanks,
OKMD
Download bluekeyboard -jp. It works with the apple ipad bluetooth keyboard I paired it with.

Paired, but not connected.
I, too, am trying to use an iPAQ keyboard with my rooted color nook. I've tried a number of different connection apps. The scan for BT devices finds and identifies it. When I try to pair it, it asks for a PIN. I use the suggested "0000". But, all I ever get is "Paired, but not connected." Any suggestions? This should be easy, right? I confess, I know little about bluetooth.
HELP!
I too have an HP Ipaq bt keyboard, in the bluekeyboard jp list of
kbs that work with the app, there is one that looks IDENTICAL but
under some other name. anyhow keyboard shows up and pairs, won't
connect, and doesn't show up in bluekeyboard jp when you go to select
a keyboard.
Hi everybody:
I had a iPAQ BT foldable keyboard (SPP, no HID), and I wish it works on my Galaxy Nexus for daily use (when playing games, or typing with Chinese input methods).
I've tried some apps, and keyPro Demo works, but it gave me a new IME which only support English input. I wondered if anybody here give me some help. Thanks all!!

[Q] HP touchpad KB bluetooth won't pair

it pairs fine with my Archos, and the nook (flashed to CM7-177) detects it and attempts to pair but never finishes.
any ideas? do I need to "unpair" from the archos (which is in another room with BT off and I power cycled the KB...)
I am having the same problem. HP touchpad keyboard will not pair. Also tried it with my LG Optimus V phone -- won't pair with that either.
My NC is running CM7.
The phone is rooted stock android.
Any ideas?
Download bluekeyboard jp in the market, its free. My nook would detect the ipad keyboard, but would never pair with it until I downloaded bluekeyboard jp.
hope this helps.
To pair, type in a code on the NC, then press power on the keyboard, then the code, then enter.

Are you referring here to the Apple Wireless Keyboard? If yes, would you mind giving me the exact steps you're using to make it work? I've tried everything, including using bluekeyboard jp, it says connected and paired, I choose it as my input method, android keyboard disappears, message tells me not to touch my keyboard as it's connecting, and still nothing happens when I try using the keyboard. Am I missing something obvious?
Edit: got it working, don't know what I did that made it finally happen (except ask for help). Had tried so many times. Happiness!
I got one the other day from OD, it paired up after a few tries, I didn't enter anything on the keyboard, I just entered 0000 as the code. If it doesn't work, keep powering it off and rescanning. I'm running CM7 as well.
Would definately like to figure out how to remap the WebOS buttons to android functions.

[Q] Bluetooth Keyboard and Galaxy mini - can this work?

Dear all,
First of all, great forum! Reading other people's posts helped me a lot to fix multiple problems.
Although I am not a big fan of starting threads myself, I am really stuck with this one. Long story short, I bought a generic no-name bluetooth keyboard for light gaming purposes while traveling.
The keyboard worked perfectly well straight from the box with my work MacBook Pro, with colleague's iPhone and with my Ubuntu netbook. Unfortunately, my Samsung Galaxy Mini didn't even "see" the device. My phone was running Gingerbread at that time (frankly, I was fine with it). Since I really wanted the keyboard to work, I decided to try out some roms. I have tried:
Cyanogenmod 7
CM 9
CM 10.1
CM 10.2
On each one of them, the phone would "see" the keyboard and pair with it, showing "connected to hid device" message, but it wouldn't actually allow me to type anything (suggesting that either the connection was immediately lost or these two devices are incompatible). I tried googling this problem and didn't find anything involving Samsung Galaxy Mini working with a bluetooth hid device. I've only found posts like this:
I recently bought a mini bluetooth keyboard that I have paired with my phone (Samsung Galaxy Mini) with no problems but I have no idea how to get the two to connect so I can use the keyboard. The keyboard works fine with my iPad, PS3, and macbook pro, just not my phone.

Such posts would typically not get any good replies. So, essentially, my question is whether there is any hope of making these two devices work. Or should I just stop trying?
Hope that somebody could help me.

[Q] Galaxy Gear - Loyalty Cards

I used to have a Sony Smartwatch and have recently got a Samsung Galaxy Gear (1st one) and wondered if there are any loyalty card apps that I can sideload? I have tried StoCard which worked up until I had to manually type the barcode in, no keyboard pops up. All of the others I have tried need an internet connection.
Just hoping that someone may have a bright idea?
Thanks in advance.

I thought that, but need a way of popping the keyboard up! Hitting my head against a brick wall!
The keyboard should pop up when needed and when you tap a text field, like with an android phone or tablet. I use google keyboard on my gear all the time.
Flashing Null_23 works pretty well keyboard wise. It will take some getting used to but it works .
