My Tab S2 T715 stuck on a bootloop - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody,
Can you help me ?
What happens :
1°) Root my tablet with CF-autoroot (smt715_cf-autoroot.tar) => Seems to be ok, as SuperSU update binaries.
2°) Update Recovery with TWRP_3.0.0-1_sm-t715.tar => Seems to be ok.
3°) In recovery, I made a backup, just in case. The backup seems to be ok, I had a confirmation that I could reboot.
4°) Reboot => Bootloop.
I can't enter in recovery mode anymore.
I can enter in download mode.
=> I tried to flash with the official ROM : T715XXU2APB2_T715OXA2APB2_T715XXU2APB2_HOME.tar.md5 => Useless
=> I tried to restore my tablet with Samsung Smart Switch => Useless
=> I tried to flash PIT (GTS28LTE_EUR_OPEN.pit) => Useless...
I don't know what to do now...
Thanks for your help

Stating useless doesn't help.
You to be more descriptive as to what happens.
Your next step should be to reinstall twrp and boot to recovery then see which partitions you can mount.

When I say "Useless", it means that nothing change. I'm still stuck with the endless "Samsung" logo.
I tried to reinstall twrp with ODIN. It's working as at boot, I can see "recovery is not seandroid enforcing" in red.
If I flash the recovery partition with the official recovery from samsung, the red line disappears.
But in any case, I still can not restart in recovery mode :/

What I meant was you need to be more specific with details if what happens when flashing.
Try and flash the stock firmware with the PIT file, check the repartition option.

Ok, I just did it : See file "odin_1.png"
PASS ! See file "odin_2.png"
And just after the reboot, still stuck, and can't enter in recovery mode ("Home, Volume up and Power button" does nothing)
See file IMG_20160428_224728.jpg

When I boot in download mode, it's write :
ODIN MODE

It is in bootloop please help tried every thing it is not going to recovery mode what to do now?

I've had the same issue with mine for a full day. S2 T810. I've flashed stock firmware, was able to get in and factory reset, but still sits at Samsung log until I unplug it and let it drain the battery dead. I flashed T810XXU2CPD9_T810XARCPE1_HOME. Anyone try any others, maybe an older firmware?

You don't need to flash anything to get out of the download mode. You merely need to hold the correct combination of keys for about ten seconds to turn the tablet off. But it is the SAME combination of keys used to boot into the download mode so you MUST release the keys as soon as the screen blanks or the tablet will boot right back into download. The keys, or buttons, are the Vol down, Home and Power. Also, no USB cable should be attach when you do this.

Same thing will turn your tablet off but you will either need to flash something via Odin or restore a backup from TWRP.
edit: The reason for your bootloop is either you flashed the wrong ROM for your tablet or failed to perform a Wipe prior to flashing.

Is the system partition accessible via twrp file manager?

Small update, it gets to android start splash screen but then EVERYTHING crashes... pic attached. Going to root and install twrp to see what happens next...

Just rooted, and yes it's accessible.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830D - Semi-bricked - Need Help!

Hey All,
So I'm in the process of helping a friend with his Galaxy Ace from Koodo. As it turns out the phone looks like it's semi-bricked but we may be mistaken all together so here goes:
My buddy tried using SuperOneClick to root his device however half way through the process, it froze and when he restarted his device, it hangs at the Samsung logo during the startup boot sequence.
1. When using a combination of UP Arrow + Home button + Power, he receives a message stating:
"RAMDUMP Mode
(ARM9 mode)"
In this mode he cannot do very much however his PC does recognize the device. Odin does not work in this mode.
2. When using a combination of DOWN arrow + Home button + Power, he received 2 different screens. The first is a bright pink colored screen that states:
"Warning!
A custom OS can cause critical problem in phone and installed applications. If you want to download a custom OS, press Volume UP key. Otherwise, press Volume DOWN key to cancel."
Pressing the down arrow brings him back to the frozen Samsung logo on startup however when pressing the UP arrow, the phone goes into "Downloading..." mode. In this mode, Odin DOES work.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now for the troubleshooting we've done. We managed to find a few articles online that asked us to use the Odin tool. We downloaded a few different sets of the files needs (Cooper.ops, CODE, MODEM, CSC & BOOT). Odin then detects the phone in 'Downloading..." mode and proceeds to installing the rom. It completes successfully however it does not reboot. The screen simply flashes with the Samsung logo again.
The original firmware build before the device stopped working ended with TLKI4.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Can anyone suggest anything else we can try?
2. Do you know if the bootloader needs to be flashed first and if so, how?
Note: We can not take the device back to Koodo as it was purchased on Kijiji and no receipt was provided. It's the GT-S5830D.
Thanks in advance,
1- boot into recovery and try to wipe data and cache. u can enter recovery mode by pressing home+power.
2- it doesnt matter, u already flashed new bootloader by flashing the phone via odin.
btw does the "D" in "GT-S5830D" bring any different in hardware with international regular GT-S5830 that most of us here use?
if its different by somehow, u shouldnt flash generic international GT-S5830 rom into it. i know for sure that galaxy ace korean version cannot use generic rom from international galaxy ace.
yep there are some 5830D specific roms on sammobile.. try them instead of generic ace

Can you point me to a certain rom/boot loader to download from sammobile? I was there earlier this morning however I didn't see any mention of Canada anywhere and I left before I messed things up further.
Even if you could just tell me which one it is I have to download, I'll do the rest myself.
Thanks a bunch!

There is no option to wipe the device. In fact, I have had other Galaxy S models and I'm pretty familiar with the screen however the Ace does not load into that recovery. Either it goes to "Downloading.." or "RAMDUMP (Arm9 mode)".
Thanks
well seems like sammobile haven't got for 5830L
but not to worry alternative site has one specifically rare rom of "D"

Thanks buddy! I tried that exact ROM however it didn't seem to work either. I used the 'Coopers_V1.0.ops" file under the "OPS" option in Odin and the "S5830DTLKI4_S5830DTLSKI4_S5830DTLKI4_HOME.tar.md5" file under the "One Package" option. Like I said before, the flash went through in "Downloading..." mode, and Odin said "PASS" however, when it came time for the phone to reboot itself, the screen started flashing and did nothing new. Same Samsung logo appears and it seems to hang right there.
Also I dont think the device has a same recovery menu anymore because even though I hold down the Home + Power buttons, it does nothing. It simply flases the screen at the Samsung logo screen.
Any other tips for me to try? Thanks again!
wierd that u cannot enter recovery mode while u can enter download mode and successfully flash it using odin.
even if u messed up recovery when u first use superoneclick earlier, flashing via odin should also flash it with new fresh recovery. so how long did u hold the home+power? i'm asking just to be sure. maybe u not hold it long enough for recovery mode to kick in.

I held it down for more than a minute just to make sure. As soon as I put the battery back in and try and restart the phone, it goes into an infinite loop at the Samsung screen.
Even I find it odd that the phone will go into Downloading mode but not recovery.
Any other suggestions?
try to install qtadb (google for it). connect the phone with pc via usb, launch qtadb and boot the phone. qtadb should display some logcat. paste the logcat output here. maybe we might have a clue whats wrong by looking into the logcat
but even if phone still stuck, just wait a few moment. if qtadb had access to the phone system via its native filemanger, it means u can use adb. use adb to reboot phone into recovery

As far as I can tell QtADB isn't even detecting the phone. I have tried to complete the procedure over and over however no show. I may not have installed ADB correctly though so I'll give it a shot again a little later.

it would have been easier if you had rooted your phone. in that way you can hard reset the phone by pressing the VOLUME DOWN + POWER for 15sec, after which you press the HOME KEY and then follow the pop up to continue.

Help, don't know how to reinstall OS

Hello to all,
I have some issues with my samsung galaxy s advance i9070 working with stock JB JZO54K.I9070XXLQE. With the rooted phone, I wanted to install CWM and followed the procedure, as I entered in recovery mode and accessed the first .zip file. It started to install. Next step was to press the home screen button and touch the display till the screen will show the new recovery interface. But nothing happened. I forgot to mention that I did wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache before starting anything.
My phone started normaly but it seems something wrong happened as it was showing some errors about google apps and almost all google apps disappeared. I shut down system and try again the same procedure, but still nothing happened. Same errors...so I wanted to flash the JB 4.1.2 stock ROM with Odin to get rid of those errors. So after I downloaded from sammobile the firmware, flash it, everything went ok till the phone had to reboot...it remained at the black screen showing the samsung i9070 white logo. I waited for Odin to show pass and disconected. Tried to restart but nothing happens. Still that black screen showing the samsung i9070 white logo. I reflash it second time with Odin using other JB 4.1.2 stock ROM. The problem is the same.
What can I do ? How can I fix the problem? I can enter only in download mode.
I'm new with the android OS. Pls help !

Try to wipe cache and do factory reset now again.
Flash again stock firmware with Odin, if you are able to enter ONLY in download mode. Download again stock firmware and compare the dimensions of files to see if there any difference.
Maybe you flashed a corrupt file.

The other part of it is that the phone still refuses to go into recovery mode. What is to be done now ?

Turn off the phone, pull out the battery for few seconds and after that press in the same time buttons : Power + Volume Up + Home.
Remember IN THE SAME TIME must press all three buttons and wait until you feel a short vibration.

I have read all the pages, but it dosen't says anything about partitions..It means the memory card should be a normal fat32 partition ?
Sorry, but you must ask in that thread. I don't use that setting and don't know to much about.
I have solved it like this : made a single FAT32 partition. Installed the .zip for change memory, reboot and now my device is showing my 32Gb memory card as internal memory and also installing apps on it. I noticed that some apps or part of them still go in the system partition (not USB storage) cause it fills some of that space too.

It is pretty hard to brick these phones. Just in case you have a bad file or something. Grab the zip and follow these instructions. I know that all these files in this zip are good so it is worth a shot.
Even if you know what you are doing, follow the instructions exactly, you may be overlooking something. It happens to everyone sometimes.

After you odin whichever firmware you flashed, wait about 10 min or so on that boot screen that is stucked. Then pull the battery out. Go into stock recovery but power+home+vol up. Then select wipe data/reset. Reboot and it should boot just fine.
At least that's how i fixed my phone that stuck few times like what you going through.

The problem is my phone can not access to stock recovery or TWRP recovery. It just stuck at first bootscreen which is shown "Samsung Galaxy Note 4 powered by Android", then restart and stuck again. So that I can not wipe data or reset to fix.

Since you can still get into download mode, what happens if you flash TWRP through ODIN? Step 10 in the instructions I posted assuming it is still rooted or start at step 8 if not. Just to see if you can get recovery working again.
You are wasting time...start over, it's your best and quickest fix....

GT-I9295 Brick? Stock ROM fail on system.img.ext4 in Odin

Hi all.
A newbie, I ended up lost after trying to flash the latest CM 12.1 on my Samsung Galaxy S4 Active GT-I9295.
At first, there was an issue with the recovery, which upon entering showed black screen instead of the tool itself.
Trying to fix this, I managed to remove the recovery through flashing the Stock ROM, which has failed in Odin on the "system.img.ext4" instead - could not paste screenshot link here, feel free to ask for it, please!
I must say that I have tried hard to figure out what to do with the mess I have caused, but now I am helpless.
Would anyone give me some nice piece of advice to get my phone going again?
Thank you so much!

Did you try odin 3.10 by any chance? That could be the problem. Use odin 3.07 or 3.09, boot manually into download mode with complete shutdown & using vol down + power key and odin the stock ROM, reboot and do the same with TWRP (hold down the vol up key after flashing recovery when it is rebooting)

Hi there, Jason.
Yes, I did exactly as you say - got to the download mode, plugged in, ran Odin (tried 3.10, 3.09 and 3 v1.85) started flashing the latest Stock ROM and the I only got as far as the "system.img.ext4", when the download failed. Sometimes that happened even earlier, saying that there was no PIT etc.
When trying to flash the CWM recovery, it goes through OK, but then when trying to get into it, the screen just goes black, as described in my previous thread - "CWM or TWRP Recovery Black Screen".
I am stuck.
But I still hope that I am not a proud brick owner

Are you using the original USB cable if not then try with another cable. Also what is the device name shown when you boot into download mode

Hi. Try this:
Remove the battery and USB cable from your phone, and wait at least 3 seconds.
Place the battery only back in your phone.
Fingers on volume down and home, then another on power. (cold boot directly into download mode - this is important!)
Press up to enter download mode.
Insert USB cable into phone and lie it down somewhere it won't move or be touched during the flash.
Download a good current copy of Odin from:
https://idlekernel.com/flash-tools/Odin_3.10.7.zip
Extract the archive and run Odin.exe
Download this emergency recover tar for your device (newest firmware revision available as of right now):
https://idlekernel.com/flash-tools/recover/BL_I9295XXUDPA4_RECOVER.tar.md5 (also has official TWRP 3.0.0-2)
Insert "BL_I9295XXUDPA4_RECOVER.tar.md5" in the [BL] slot.
In the Options tab put an [✔] in the "Phone Bootloader Update" checkbox.
If you don't have anything you need on your internal storage, put an [✔] in the "Nand Erase All" checkbox.
Click [Start].
Once the progress bar is near finished, place your fingers on volume up and home to enter directly into official TWRP 3.0.0-2.
If you used the "Nand Erase All" feature earlier, you will need to go into Wipe -> [Format Data] -> type "yes" for your data partition to be usable again.
Hopefully this will get you past your black screen issues.
PS. Remember to flash stock boot.img with your system.img.ext4, as you cannot boot a ROM without a matching boot image.
