Hello my dear friends, this is nothing but a shortcut to an amazing course that I had gone through, I consider that git and github usage are very important tools to android developers, thus those need to be handled in the right manner to make development easier, quicker and better
This course is great if you know nothing about git and github usage, or little knowledge on how it works, I even recommend this to experienced users, for a good reference and clean practices.
the best of all is that is free, with videos explaining the matter down to the core, tasks and quizes that will make you understand how every command explained works
I already saw some tutorials on how to use git and github in the forums, but this is not intended to replace them, but enrich it's content
Here the link to the course: How to use Git and GitHub
And, sorry for my bad english
hi
thanks for tutorial
english is ok):good:

ok folks due to the fools in here constantly tormenting for source i dont have i have had my honeystreak post locked, and since i am absolutley sick of xdas stupid rules now im moving everything over to a far better forum.
I doubt this post will be allowed to stay here simply because its advertising, but i personally dont care, im sick of xda and their stupid rules
GPL is nothing to do with "xda's stupid rules". We simply enforce the requirements set out by the GPL. As a kernel developer, you more than most, should know that the source is required when you post a modified kernel, as you have done.
We don't "go picking" on anyone in particular. We deal with all devs who are in the same position, as we come across them.
Big phones house such Samsung, Dell, HTC well for make it shortly, everyone that use Linux code in their Kernel devices, are forced to pubblic their source in compliant with GPL, rules so we are, i don't see the point why developers that use a big site like this think that they can skip this GLOBAL rule.
We didn't ask you who/where/when and how you did grab that source, we don't care about it, we only requested you to post the source even in a GITHUB form or a zip file uploaded in some anonymous server such Multiupload.
What dvelopers like you don't understand is that we aren't try to go angainst you, check the name of this site, XDA-Developers, this community was founded on developers, so we love and respect all your works but you MUST follow the line, GPL is not a thing that should be skipped and as The_scotsman said, as a kernel developer you must know this.
That's said, we are sorry that you have decided to leave us, seeing comments you are a good developer like all the majority here on XDA us but sometimes these such a things happens when you a trying to let people follow the rules.
Don't blame us for what is happened, Richard Stallman is the man to blame here and don't worry for this thread, as far as you will not try to advertise your new "home" this will be not closed and if in future you will change your idea you will be always welcome here.
Hello guys! So basically I'm opening this thread to(hopefully) gather some advice, feedback(criticism is welcome) and ideas on my Project Work for Cambridge A Levels(equivalent of SATs) this year.
Just a brief description, Project Work is a learning experience which aims to provide candidates with the opportunity to synthesise knowledge from various areas of learning, and critically and creatively apply it to real life situations. This process, which enhances candidates' knowledge and enables them to acquire skills like collaboration, communication and independent learning, prepares them for lifelong learning and the challenges ahead.

I'm a Singaporean student studying in Singapore, so this is set in a Singaporean context. Hey, any fellow Singaporeans out there? Give me a heads up! :highfive:
This year's themes are Access and Choice. I plan to do a project pertaining to Access. My project is to solve a lack of easy access to a recognised, public platform to showcase talent.
I believe that there are plenty of talented people in Singapore, but there are barriers inhibiting them from fully developing their talents. One of this barriers is the lack of easy access to a platform for them to showcase their talent in a way such that they will gain recognition from the public, should they deserve it. My vision for this platform is to allow users to showcase their talents, and as such gain more recognition from the public and have greater chance to gain the attention of recruitment agents etc, thus presenting to them the opportunity to further develop their talents(which are usually also their passions) into careers.
The goal of this project to to create a public web platform to allow people to showcase their talents(singing, art, design, photography, writing etc).
The website will be powered by a Wordpress CMS (see where I'm going?), with some built-in internal social networking features, and will feature deep integration with existing Social Media like Facebook etc. Users will be allowed to register, post and comment on other user's works etc. And of course, there will be a moderation platform.
So.... opinions?
If you want to make a platform accessible to the general public so they can judge the talents of members, a website is only a small stepping-stone. You need to come up with something much larger. Or you can simply make the public aware of your website through advertisement. And how do you intend to showcase members' talent on the website? Short clips would be the most efficient means of doing so.
I didn't quite understand the moderation platform bit. What are they going to do?
CIE A Levels you say? I have my O Levels coming up in 2015. If it isn't too much of a hassle, can you give me a brief, yet as accurate as possible, idea of the O Levels via PM? Also if you have the Math and English papers and mark schemes, could you send them to me? Hope it's not too much to ask.
Good luck with your project and your A Level Examinations.

Hi all developers, I wish I could port OmniRom 4.4.4 to the "bq Curie" tablet (from bq, spanish brand), but between all bq tablets, the "Curie" is the most difficult to work with. We (EngelProjektDroid) have ported this wonderful rom to almost all bq tablets, and we want "Curie" users to enjoy it too.
We ask you developers or computer engineers to help us with this hard "fight". "Curie" users are almost the most abandoned users in development,
and because of that I request your knowledge, because as I have understood, we all are one.
We will give access to the main sources of our git concerning the Curie and give directions that are needed or that I can best offer to you.
Here you have the dmesg and the logcat: https: //docs.google . com/file/d/0BwyzeSh2fR-oc3BSWlNPeDY4S00/edit (Join the parts of the link, sorry :S)
My sincere gratitude to all who help out and I think in this case I can speak for the whole community of this humble tablet.
Here are some links of our web and our work, thanks! (I'll post them better when the forum allow me, sorry :S, only join the parts of the link )

Since it sounds like you MIGHT be a developer asking general bringup questions, I'll refrain from reporting this one. (However, per the FAQ, Omni support requests are supposed to go to the device-specific community for your device.)
Since you haven't even been able to provide critical information about your device (such as exactly which CPU it has), we can't help you. Just as a warning: If it has a MediaTek CPU, there is basically no hope of support. If it's Rockchip, it's highly unlikely. If it's Allwinner, it's slightly more likely but Allwinner's media codecs have made supporting even that chip difficult.

Yes, we're a developing team (EngelProjektDroid), but we aren't asking for support for this device.
We are looking for developers to help us to port the Omnirom (unnoficcially) to this RockChip tablet.
If it isn't the place where I have to put this thread, tell me where it has to be and I'll move it.
The tablet is RockChip rk3066,with Mali-400
Is it easy to install a rom? I have that tablet (BQ Curie). Mine has 2 memories to install apps (a primary one with 2GB) and a second with 12GB...
Hello!
I have just noticed on their blog:
"Restructuring of repositories
Those who are following our GitHub might have noticed that we did set some of our repositories to private. As described here in this README.md this is not about hiding our code. Everyone can request to get access to the source code by sending us an email with his GitHub account or if you do not want to share that can even get a zip file with the sources. According to the license terms you are then also free to re-share or make them public on your own if you want. Furthermore all changes to those repositories will still also be public on our Gerrit. Our main motivation for this is to gather knowledge who is using our code and to improve the communication and teamwork with other fellow developers and interested people. And it would be awesome if this leads to more developers contributing their changes and building together better things in the future.

"The repositories in omni-private are only accessible to registered users So if you want to use those please contact us by email to [email protected] with a short description what you want to use them for. Send us your github account then we can add you to the group that has read access to those repositories.
Changes to those repositories are still accessible on gerrit"
How do you comment on this? I am quite new to the ROM world, so I do not know if this is a common and normal practice... Is it? I find it quite strange...
Do you guys think this could be somehow problematic transparency and trust -wise?
btw..
I am ex-Lineage user... How would you compare official Omni and official Lineage OSes and their team from the point of privacy, security and trustworthiness? I have read some comment about bad attitude of admins on Omni Telegram group. Cold this be a bad sign?
Thank you for help and great work
Hi guys,
I'm a tech enthusiast who sometimes likes to tinker with particular things like custom ROMs etc...
I don't know how to code but I would like to learn, in the future I will definitely dedicate some time to try to learn Java to make my own Android apps.
In the meantime I thought I'd sign here for help for LineageOS for microG for Banana Pi M5 (not available right now).
Thank you in advance
Hello and welcome to XDA. If you haven't already, please take a moment to review the XDA Rules and Forum Etiquette linked in my signature. You will also find out GPL Policy to be important when you release your first ROM and/or kernel.
