Hey, so I'm really new to Android (this Note 5 is my first Android phone) and I don't know much about firmware flashing, so I thought I would inquire here... I have the SM-N920I model of the phone, but it was a Spark (New Zealand carrier) phone so it's not factory unlocked but it has been unlocked as I can use my Vodafone SIM. Since it has the Spark firmware, there is the Spark boot animation, and I was wondering if I could flash the factory unlocked firmware onto the device to get rid of this and a couple other things that bug me a little with the carrier firmware.
Thanks for any help guys!
I need some help. I have a Verizon S8. I flashed the unlocked firmware and am running the phone on T-Mobile. The problem is, I cannot seem to flash the phone back to the Verizon Firmware. It's also not acting like an unlocked phone, but rather a T-Mobile phone (complete with T-Mobile splash screens, even though I never flashed the T-Mobile firmware). No matter how many times I flash the Verizon Firmware using Odin, the phone still boots up as a T-Mobile phone. Any ideas?
I flashed my Verizon s8 with the files from this page, everything works flawlessly, no bloat.

Hi all,
I bought the Galaxy S6 from AT&T when it came out, but switched over to T-Mobile from AT&T last year. Because of this, I have been unable to get any updates and have been stuck on Android 6.0 when the current release is android 7.0, so I've been thinking of flashing my phone. I was curious as to whether I'm able to flash my G920A with Tmobile's G920T rom? Would it work? And if so, after I flash it, would I be able to receive updates normally from T-mobile's servers, as I'm currently using a T-mobile sim, or would I have to flash every subsequent update?
Thanks
Doubtful, since AT&T has a locked bootloader. If the bootloader was unlocked you might be able to try.

You cannot flash a G920T firmware on a G920A. First off, Odin won't let you because the G920T firmware is only signed to be flashed on the G920T.
And even if you somehow rooted and used FlashFire to force the firmware onto your device, the firmware would brick the device, and without a USB jig or SD card port, the brick would be permanent.

I too am seeking answers on this as I have an SM-920A I brought over to t-mobile. Unlocked the phone, installed the t-mobile SIM and the phone works fine, except, it still has all the old ATT apps I no longer need or desire to be there AND without the T-Mobile apps installed, I cannot use their LTE Signal Booster. Is there any way I can install these t-mobile apps that would have come with the SM-920T load?

Just do this and remove the AT&T apps you don't want completely.

So, what can be done -- if anything--to solve this issue?

Hey everyone
With all past Samsung phones I have been able to remove the carrier logo and the other nasty bits by flashing the unbranded ROM with ODIN for my country. With the Note 9 I can successfully flash the unbranded ROM and while it removes the other bits the carrier boot animation remains. Any ideas on how to remove this?
Thanks,
Purchased from three UK, just wondering how i go about removing the network branding splash screen on start up & shut down?.
Cheers
Also wondering the same
Flash to stock Samsung u fw.
Possibly flash an unbranded ROM
If that's the >only< thing, I would leave it be.
If it makes a cute little jiggle with the splash screen you can disable that. Sorry but I forgot were that one is hidden though
I'm from America so I can't say which firmware you need but you can download the latest patched Odin, and download the latest stock Samsung firmware for the unlocked UK model and you can use patched Odin to flash it onto your carrier variant such as me, I have a Tmobile s21 ultra and I flashed the XXA firmware and now it's just plain old stock Samsung no carrier extras
