Hi guys, i just wanted to ask whether Android Pay will work on rooted Note 5's with a custom ROM? Its just arrived here in the UK, i downloaded the app from the Playstore but when i try to add a card it comes up with an error message: Google is unable to verify that your device or the software running on it is Android compatible
My Note 5 is rooted and im currently running a custom ROM on it. I know Samsung Pay won't work on rooted phones as its tripped KNOX but i thought Android Pay would work even on rooted phones.

In general it won't work on rooted phones. Though at one time you could get it to work using a rooted stock ROM (had to be stock or very close to it) with root using the "systemless" version of SuperSU. You also couldn't have xposed running. Not sure if all that is still the case or if google has detected systemless yet. I haven't tried in quite a while.
Hi all
I have been trying to root my phone but I think I bought the most annoying phone to root. I hit a wall on every direction so far, from what I can understand, rooting for the new version of android is hard enough but the active is somehow more difficult than the regular galaxy s5. I have been told to downgrade using odin but I will need to get the matching older version of baseband and kernel. I'm not sure if this is what I need or even where to find them. Have anyone rooted a galaxy s5 active recently? any suggestion would help.
Thank you so much.
nvm sorry for the post..... this phone has no hope..
current software 4.4.2 what's the best way to update to update the software to latest new to root
What phone model? G800F, G800H, etc?
Most versions have official Lollipop from Samsung, you can update it using OTA, no root needed and it won't trip Knox warranty. If your model doesn't have a version for your particular country then you can use Odin to flash a compatible version (same model, another country) and it should keep your warranty.
If you want Marshmallow then there is no official version yet. You can get a custom ROM, then you will need TWRP either using Odin or rooting first.
Thanks for the reply ! I'm a idiot ... I have an s4 mini lol
I have rooted it I used king root (GT -19195 ) I'm new to all this so bare with me ! So now I have the problem of having issues with the binary and su it's saying it needs to install the right one but nothings happening any suggestions or should I just sod the root off and start again using odin ? I'm on v 4.4.2

If you meant GT-i9195 or anything other than G800-something then probably you're in the wrong forum, you will get better help in the appropriate forum for your device.
Secondly, if you've used KingRoot then either stick to KingUser app (SuperSU won't work) or you need to replace it completely either using an app or some script, both don't work always...

Last time i ever rooted a galaxy phone it was a galaxy s3. I upgraded to a galaxy note 3 awhile after and there was no good root out there, so i decided to wait and its been about 2 years now. I see plenty of info and roots just searching but id rather be safe than sorry. So i have an Unlocked At&t Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (I use cricket as service provider), SAMSUNG-SM-N900A, 5.0 Lolipop, Kernel v 3.4.0-4335446, KNOX 2.3. Can anyone point me into the right direction to all the stuff i need to do this as not to mess up so i dont just go doing it myself and f-ing everything up because whatever i read is from along time ago and not current as id like or anything? Id rather not have to do any downgrading or anything else id rather just be able to download needed files, plug-in, run software, root device and abrakadabra if possible. Thanks everyone!

Ive tried everything on the forum and noting will work , Ive tried downgrading to the root able firmware and following the guild perfectly but Flash fire will never fully flash . Ive downgraded at least 10 times trying different threads but now luck .Since this is a old phone does anyone know how to root AT7T Samsung Galaxy S4 Active on the latest firmware ? The only thing i can do is downgrade , root EN3 and get stuck there or use download zips to get to the latest firmware but without root .
