You should read the threads about installing custom recoveries and rooting in the general section.
TWRP 2.7.1.1 is wayyy to old, you should use TWRP 3.0.0.0 when you're flashing things in marshmallow.
And you should give more info, which version of superSU did you flash?
There is only one beta version which is able to root marshmallow without a modified Boot.img, it's BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651.
http://download.chainfire.eu/751/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651.zip
Read the thread about "[Simplified] [Root Method] [Titan] [Marshmallow 6.0] Without Modifying boot.img" : http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/simplified-modifying-boot-img-t3317605
and "[GUIDE] [Titan] [MM, LP, KK] [Unlock + Root + Backup + Restore + Downgrade" : http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/xt1063-t3018818 .
Flash twrp 3.0.0.0 ( https://dl.twrp.me/titan/ )and then the BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651, you can try to flash the beta superSU above with your old recovery but it's not recommended. Your choice but then change recovery afterwards.

Ok thanks, I did actually find out twrp was an old version so I flashed a lollipop 5.0.2 Titan rom to escape the bootloop, then rooted with Kingroot(I was lazy to install SuperSU) then installed the latest version of twrp.
It's actually my first time attempting rooting and unlocking the bootloader, so yea at least I learned something from this. :good:

Good to hear that you fixed your problem. One thing: Don't use Kingroot.
It's a very unstable way to root your device and a suspicious app.
Just flash superSU, it's stable and easy to do and it doesn't send data to unknown sources. Just an advice.

TWRP 2.8.7.1
for imobile IQ II and chery mobile G1
- 15 partitions backup/restore
(system,boot,aboot,recovery,oem,modem,IMEI-1,IMEI-2,splash..etc..)
- root device directly by supersu 2.52

Has anyone tried this? How can I flash this on my Cherry Mobile One G1 with Marshmallow (MRA58Y)?
I haven't done rooting manually except on my old Nexus 7 with the Nexus Root Toolkit. From what I understand, to root I need to (1) flash a custom recovery like TWRP and (2) flash a SuperSU zip on phone. Am I right?

This twrp have the inbuilt ability to root the 2nd gen devices(snapdragon 410),
flash this TWRP only,
and boot your device to twrp and reboot to system,
twrp will ask you for root ,
then press and swipe on screen to confirm root.
no need any SuperSU zip files.
This TWRP can root android 5.1.1 only (LUZ59i,LUZ59J,LUZ59K,LUZ59M,LUZ59Q),
Do not used this TWRP to root Marshmallow.

Thank you.
First, you have to unlock the bootloader, otherwise it won't work!
For testing purposes only, you don't have to flash it, just try it with:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot twrp2871_IQII.img
is there any update for marshmallow?
anyone here who have Cherry Mobile G1 users who already managed to root using TWRP in marshmallow?
Hello,
Searched the interweb and xda to find an answer, but still can't find one. I can't seem to update my Marshmallow Concept v3536 to v3550. I tried:
Flashing the 3027 build and relocking the bootloader
Flashing the boot, and the reovery partition of 3037 built serparately and relock
Full wipe my device and installing built 3037 and relock
Also tried this steps and after that updated to 3536 by restoring system and boot partitions. All at no avail. I have to clarify that I did not install SU, so that's not the problem. Also: my TWRP recovery is still available if I unlock my bootloader afterwards.
My device keeps telling me "incremental system update cannot be installed when dm-verity is disabled" if I try to update. I haven't got a TA-backup becuse when I rooted that wasn't possible yet.
Is there a way to get dm-verity back as there's no clear answer to this question on xda.
TIA
(Lol. Misspelled Marshmallow in the title)
OK. Here's how I managed to fix it:
I installed this and flashed the last official firmware with it.
Flashed the 3027 concept rom over it.
I manually flashed TWRP (Flashtool corrupted my boot) with the command
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
When I start TWRP choose READ-ONLY mount system.
Wipe dalvik and cache and flash this from within TWRP.
Boot ROM and backup after that from within TWRP if you want to be able to update via OTA (I think this is necessary, but not sure).
After that flash latest (systemless) SuperSU Beta.
Enjoy
Is it OK to switch between Android 6 and Android 7 in TWRP 3.0.2.0 backups?
I would like to use both Androids on my phone until Xposed will be ready for Nougat, but I'm afraid of file structure, partitions and so on.
Both Androids are rooted and no encryption.
Restore backup of Android M won't mess with Nougat will it?

No problem provided u have N bootloader to use N ROMs. N bootloader is backward compatible. Nutty Nexus thread has link to latest N bootloader and radio combined in one zip to be flashed in TWRP 3.0.2.0 before flashing N roms

Thank you for your answer.
I'm going to update from ADB (factory image):
1 fastboot flash bootloader
2 fastboot flash radio
3 fastboot restart-bootloader
4 fastboot flash boot
5 fastboot flash system
6 entering twrp recovery from bootloader
7 flash SuperSU (root and no encryption)
TWRP doesn't backup BL or radio?
Why not use MultiROM so you can actually switch between them and not wipe/restore all your partitions each time you want to switch back and forth? I think it should work between MM and N so long as the kernels in each ROM are kexec patched.

TWRP only backs up \system, \data, \boot, \recovery, \EFS (\cache also but who cares)
You could flash like that but you could also just flash debloated N rom from tupac4u or DanvH straight from TWRP (after flashing N bootloader and radio zip).
Multi-rom can be tricky for Noobs
EDIT: Here are the useful links: N radio and bootloader in 1 flashable zip in TWRP by RatchetPanda: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=312978532265362066
Here is tupac4u latest debloated N rom:

I flashed TWRP with succes according to cmd. But when booting to recovery it gives me the stock recovery. I had the same problem with my OPX. Someone on here said that MM had a new bootloader so i had a TWRP that was compatible with that bootloader. Is this the same for OP3T? If so can anyone link this

flash twrp 3.0.4.0 (in OP3 forums, now unified), from fastboot boot immediately to recovery it should boot TWRP, flash SuperSU or similar (or kernel that will rename stock recovery) to keep TWRP, reboot recovery from TWRP to check it works, reboot to system and profit.
if you don't root, stock recovery will keep coming back.
