wi-fi tether question

Has anyone used the wifi tether app to connect to a Wii console for network
access? I can connect to laptops fine and use the internet, but am unsucessful using my Hero to connect the Wii. Any suggestions? TIA
I don't know if the wii supports ad-hoc networks....

Wii doesn't support Ad-Hoc
The closest people have gotten as far as I know is
IS to a Router that rebroadcasts.
But I am not sure anyone has gotten it working 100 percent.
I gave up on getting mine to hook up.

Control Wireless Hotspot through bluetooth?

Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if this is possible, but I am using a rooted phone. I recently picked up an Acer A100 for really cheap and have been using wireless hotspot on my XT860 for internet access when I'm out of wifi range. This really drains the battery of the XT860, and sometimes I forget to turn it off. I was wondering if it is possible to control wireless hotspot on my phone with some kind of software. I don't want to do bluetooth tethering because BT is much slower than WiFi.

Here is a copy of the Wifi Tether app included with Hashcode's CM9 build. Install and see if it works for you. In the settings there is an option for automatic shutdown anywhere from 1 to 60 minutes of inactivity. If this works for you, than you won't ever have to worry about remembering to turn it off.

File transfer using bluetooth

I paired my Vivid with the BT in my laptop no problem.
However when I try and access my Vivid, AT&T think I am trying to tether for WiFi modem purposes and prompts me to contact them.
Is there a way around this? All I want is file transfer.
Wifi transfer pro on the market there is a free version too if you have wifi or use the cable that comes with the phone

[Q] Using the Note as a modem for a router

My internet connection is down and right now I'm using my Note as a modem for my computer. But when I'm doing this I cannot access my LAN (of course). Is there a way to use the Note as a modem for my router so I can connect my computer through the router and have both internet access and LAN access?
My router is a Cisco E4200.
Just checking, what were you using to connect your computer to the router before using the note, what other devices are there and what are they connected by?

My computer connected through WLAN to the router. I have several other devices connecting with a mix of cable and WLAN to the router.
hmmm...
ur phone has usb tethering capability.. y dont u utilize it as it will use the usb port
and u can still connect to ur LAN using wifi
True. That is acceptable, but that would leave all the other devices without a connection. How do I connect through USB? I have activated USB tethering in the phone and connected it with a cable but nothing happens. I'm using OS X.

Presuming DHCP is obtained through the router or manual and the router can handle switching an ethernet cable from the mac to the router would work.

EDIT
Just read up, you wanted to give all of the devices on your network an Internet connection through your note?
EDIT
It is possible to do it from the computer if that's the case but for the sake of simplicity let's first connect the note directly to the router.

That would be nice, but mainly I want to be able to access internet and my LAN from my computer.
Connect via wifi tethering. You should be able to access ur LAN via cat5 cable.
If not, RECONFIGURE your router to the same IP rangr used hy ur note.

Wifi plus bluetooth tethering at the same time?

I wonder how that would work bluetooth tethering with my phone on 4g and connected to a wifi network.
Would our touchpad know how to draw data from both source?
