Hello I am having some issues with my k3 note, basically there's no sound\voice coming through the earpiece all I get is a very faint static which suggests it still has some sort of power going to it. The screen was recently replace and from what I can see everything is plugged in.
Just in case it was a software issues I tried multiple different roms but no joy.
Any suggestions?

Does anyone know if the "no sound from the internal speaker" issue is caused by some other component rather than the just speaker itself?
Sent from my Nook Color using XDA App
Do you have sound from the headphones? Are you using Dalingren's Nook Tweaks to increase DAC- could be blown speaker? Volume + key to the max?
Try a reboot. If that doesn't work, unroot before returning it to store for another unit if under warranty.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm out of warranty. I have flashed back to stock and flashed CM7 from a wipe multiple times. I do have sound from the headphone jack though.
I know this is an older post, but I am having the same issue. The internal speaker seems to be dead. The headphone jack works, and I have tried several different roms trying to resolve it. Has anyone else had this issue, killing the internal speaker? Is there any fix for it?
Something that often happens is that the headphone jack gets mangled, and the speaker cutoff gets stuck. I can't offer specific guidance, but poking gently inside the jack might free things up.
A bright light and knowing what it's supposed to look like inside will help a lot here.
I checked the internal speaker, and it works. The headphone connection also seems fine, and is seldom used. I am wondering if the driver got messed up at some point with a ROM...is there any way to check (and fix) this?
Hello,
I bought my One on Tuesday and it's been great so far, but today I've noticed that playing it on the top 3 volume levels causes the sound to kind of fluctuate, as in, some parts of the song play louder than other parts.
This is less prevalent with beats audio turned off, however I believe I can still slightly hear it.
It's most noticeable when I plug it into my car's aux port and turn the volume on the phone up to its max.
Has anyone else had this problem? is it a software issue? or will I have to take this phone back?
Thanks
the phone have 2 speaker one in top on in bottom.
2.1 speaker working in phone perhaps the song getting change between to speakers and you think that happened.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, the problem only happens with headphones plugged in
Hi people
So here's the issue. Yesterday I was playing music through my speakers, all was fine, then I stopped the music. Later I put my headphones in the phone but there's no sound. Then I tried through the phone speakers. Still no sound. I've tried re flashing kernel and ROM, but it's still the same. I'm guessing something has possibly fried on the main board that deals with all sound through headphones and speakers? Mic is fine though.
If anyone has had this issue before or any info I'd love to know about it.
Peace out
UPDATE: the top speaker works on calls I can hear the other person (unless this is another speaker in the grill), and I can also hear a very faint sound through headphones. I saw someone else with the same issue and someone advised to delete Google play services data, which I did, but to no avail
Very similar problem here - no speaker audio, no headset audio (I don't think I'm getting even faint sound through the headset jack), but bluetooth audio works fine. I've tried restoring from two different Nandroid backups with no luck and am now restoring back to today's nandroid.
If anyone has any info or even guesses about this, let us know...
I've already found out that this happens due to a flex cable over heating internally. Not sure which internal flex cable as there are multiple and the audio Jack and speaker flex cables don't seem to be linked. I'm taking mine to a shop
I replaced the battery in my wife's phone and immediately afterwards I hear no audio from the earpiece. When I plugin headphones I can hear audio fine from the headphones, youtube pauses when I remove the headphones which indicates it does know that the headphones aren't plugged in and should be sending audio to the earpiece. Does anybody have any idea what connections might be the issue? I have taken the thing apart 4 times trying to find what connector might be misaligned with no luck thus far and really don't want to have to get another phone.
Same exact problem here...
Hi there archangelus2,
Have you ever found a fix to the problem? I also noticed that my loud speaker is now not as loud as it used to be... and by trial and error, I found out that squeezing the top right corner (looking at the screen) it gets a bit louder so I guess that some of the contacts aren't touching well or some other odd crap is going on. The phone is easy enough to open and take apart (if you know what you're doing and are very careful and gentle), but I did notice that given the complains that have been posted post-repair, it does not seem to be too reliable when putting it all back together. The earpiece going completely mute is complete nonsense for instance as there isn't all that much that could go "wrong" in those contacts and I wonder if something gets messed up at the software level after a replacement of hardware like the battery, is performed.
Any help and info will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers! and stay

Is there anyway that you accidentally messed with the earpiece? There is a small rubber protector inside the phone on top of the earpiece, I suggest you check to make sure this is positioned properly on the speaker.
Best of luck,
Matt
Yes, I just got my earpiece fixed. I had a 16 GB AT&T model who's sound was terrific. Then i got greedy and went for a 32 GB latin american model (some telecom I forgot the name of) its earpiece sound was extremely low. I ordered 2 earpieces from ali express just in case they were to be changed. Yesterday I took it to a shop and the guy fixed the original earpiece by applying some tape around the earpiece to focus the sound out of one way and now its as good as new. $10 and am happy.
So yeah probably in your case I'd say he kinda misplaced the earpiece. You may get it checked.
I broke the screen completely 2 months ago. It was working fine before that. The phone was disconnected from the battery for nearly the entire 2 months. I put the screen on today and it worked like a charm. Well , sort of.
During calls , whether that is phone calls or skype calls or w/e , it acts weird. My problem is they can hear me fine but I can't hear them without speaker enabled or headphones/headset. It's almost as if it thinks it has headphones (with no mic) plugged in. It plays music fine on all loudness levels, the dial pad tones and the ringtone all work fine. It only has issues during calls.
So far I've tried disassembling and reassembling the phone , in case it wasn't sitting on the contacts right. Then I tried inserting headphones and a headset mid call and removing it to make it snap out of it , still no change. I tried clearing the phone app data (that was before I knew it happens on skype as well). Lastly I did the system update that was available for it. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
The earpiece speaker that you hold to your face is separate from the speakerphone/audio/ringer/notifications speaker.
It sounds like your earpiece speaker or associated wiring has become disconnected or damaged.

I didn't know the earpiece was separate. Turns out , because I thought it was all 1 thing , I didn't notice it was glued on the old screen and didn't remove it. Thank you.
