Removing micro scratches from note 5 screen? - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I noticed really small scratches that you can only see when the screen is turned off and you're looking at it from a black screen, I know its just a little scratch but it annoys me. Does anybody know any polish etc to try to take out the micro scratches

Try toothpaste.

Screen Scratches

When I bought my phone,I ordered a full InvisibleShield from mobileden.co.uk for 20 pounds. It has been about 3 months and nothing arrived, they are not responding to emails and my screen has been scratched more that a lottery ticked in a retirement home...
Does anyone know a way to fix these,or maybe I can order another Invisibleshield that can cover these up,I cant find it in Montenegro,so how about a site with shipping?
If Im right, there should already be a factory fitted screen protector on the play. Try removing it, and try ordering off Amazon.co.uk for a new one.

Ya there's a film over your screen stock and it picks up every scratch under the sun. The screen itself is very hard to scratch, you can take your car keys and try to scratch it nothing well happen. But ya take of that film it's a scratch magnet.

Is it true that you have to remove the film?

If you are thinking about that thick vinyl that comes with your phone and gets filled with air pockets after 2 hours of use,i removed that one the first day,but if there is another one,pls tell me

I think there already is a screen protector preinstalled, i didn't noticited it. I think that's the reason why it's so hard to put another screen protector on it.

There's actually one under that, it's got a great fit to it and you can't even tell it's there. If you look where the buttons meet the glass you can see there's a film on the screen. It's not really a screen protector it's a film they put on to prevent the screen from shattering if you dropped your phone kind of like safety glass in your car windshield it will still break but it doesn't let the glass fly. The problem with it is it's super soft so it picks up a ton of scratches. I recommend removing it and if you want apply a real screen protector that won't pick up scratches. Like I said it isn't really a screen protector just a soft piece of thin vinyl that scratches like crazy. To get it off get a pin or tack and pick away at it by the search button and once you get it lifted a little you can just peal it off with no problem. The mineral glass underneath is pretty dang scratch resistant but once that crappy film is off you can apply a proper protector with ease. Hope that helps some

Thx,as soon as I get an InvisibleShield I will peel it off. Maybe I should sue mobileden for fraud?
Here is what it looks like when removing the factory vinyl. I had to use a thumb tack to get it started. I pushed down hard on it to get it started, and it did not harm the glass, but the vinyl scratches easily.
Edit: ack, the camera really captures the lint. I will say the colors are much more vibrant with that vinyl off. I should have taken a before and after pic of that.

Been wondering about this as my screen has got a couple of annoying scratches on it. Good to know the actual screen is much more resistant
Editing to add that I just took it off and can confirm that everything looks more vibrant
Thank you everyone for that info especially jdsemler.
Ima buy the invisible shield in couple months
Either way i'd never realize that i got the film on the screen
Yeah, me too. I didn't realize there was another shield there. Good to know when I can afford to order a Zagshield later.
Hmm I never noticed that also I think I put my cheapo screen protector over that film

You say that and I've found my screen is the scratch magnet, heck at one point I only pulled the phone out of my pocket with nothing else and I get a massive scratch. :/

I hate the Zagg "invisible" (quite the opposite) shields. The material is so uncomfortable I would take scratches on the screen instead every day of the week. Those shields are soft plastic of some sort and the fingers almost gets stuck on them while swiping (lots of friction). No smooth movement because of that and the image gets a lot more distorted than with the original screen protector on.
I really like the original screen protector as you can hardly tell it's there and it feels good on the finger. I regreted I ever removed mine and bought new original ones and am a happy camper again. They protect against speckles very well too which the Zagg ones doesn't do either. The Zagg shields are the most uncomfortable ones I have ever used and it's hard to get it on without getting bubbles and leftovers from the liquid that distorts the image even more.
I think it's the shatter proof one that's picking up most my scratches. Can somebody post a video of peeling it off? I see a very thin line with less than a millimeter gap between the phone edge and this protector. Can somebody confirm that it's the protector I'm looking at?

This article will explain how to do it, i put a high powered torch on the screen whilst its off, it lights up the screen protector perfectly
I took the stock screen protector off and have been using it naked for months now. Not a single scratch yet.

Anyone have Xtremegaurd Screen Protectors?

They have a sale right now for 75% for orders with 2 or more items. They seem like decent screen protectors, but the Nexus S is curved so most screen protectors don't cover the whole screen. Does this cover most of the screen? Thanks.

Nice find, but me personally i hate the feel of any screen protector it feels to thick and my thumb doesn't slide off the screen like it should.
It's weird haha
I have one on my phone & it's been great to have piece of mind that I'll never scratch the screen. To answer your question tho, they cover the entire screen except for a small cutout sliver where the earpiece & front facing camera are.

Scratch on my sgm screen

I have scratches on my phones screen how can I remove it and if I buy a screen protector will it remove the scratches on my screen please help me because its annoying me
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
The scratches won't go away. You should have installed a screen protector as the sgm doesn't have gorilla glass.

There's already thread about it, you can use toothpaste and microfibre cloth and rub it in circular motion. It works because static receptors are sunked in plastic, so you'really not even touching them, only glass. But if the scratch is too deep, you won't be able to get rid of it completely

OK if I use car polish will it effect on the screen
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Car polish might be too harsh, leaving even more scratches
replace
get replaced with new one
try a bit of "Brasso" the brass polish
I tried one of those stick correctors for car scratches on an iphone once, it might work for you too. I don't know if a foil will fully mask the scratches.

I heard the toothpaste method really works. Try this? Afterwards put a screen protector on it right away!
screen protector only prevent scratches not hide it..

Suggestion fit screen protector!

Any easy screen protector and good quality please don't recommends xtremeguard protector... I'm so frustrated with the xtreme protector, bubble doesn't disappear after awhile><
Thanks everyone for any suggestion
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
with the xtremeguard, the rate at which the bubbles disappear depends on the ambient temperature. for me, i sped things up by leaving my nexus 7 off and then placing it on a heater set to medium. after a few hours, all the bubbles were gone. the only reason why i hated my xtremeguard was because all 5 of the screen protectors i bought had vertical scratches on the underside. im surprised their whole 'shield heal' thing doesnt apply to the underside.
at the moment, im just using ebay cheapies that i bought in bundles of 10. if you want a bit more durability from them, then only peel off the bottom layer (adhesive side) and leave the top layer on. that way if you do accidentally scratch it, you can remove the top layer and you'll still have another layer underneath.
Ive ordered a BodyGuards HD Anti-Glare screen protector. I should get it before the end of this week, so I will write a review on it.
i bought 5 and i threwed 3 in the bin, well, i might have to try again and put it in somewhere warm but not.hot than><

I just got my SGP Ultra Fine (matte + antifingerprint)...
and I ruined it.
The first try was awesome but slightly off where one of the corners was overlapping. I peeled it off and it never went on right again. Tons of dust and when I ran it under hot soapy water, like I always do, the back glue started rubbing off making it a goner.
I never had the glue come off of a screen protector. In fact I never knew they used glue. I always thought they just clung via static. The larger the screen the harder it is to apply. I'm bummed.

Cloudiness/Possible scratches underneath Screen Glass

So I recently installed a Zagg and noticed some cloudiness/blemishes. At first I figured it was just some leftover residue from the Zagg.
However, yesterday while I was installing another Zagg, I removed the old one and wiped the screen but still noticed these marks underneath the screen glass. This is my second Edge as I had my first one replaced for Dead Pixels.
I might have to get a 3rd one now.. SMH
It is hard to notice in pictures, but I can see the marks when I am scrolling on any white or light colored background..
I've gone through 3 Zaggs because there lol to be little scratches under the protector as well, but I think it's just the protector since each one has had at least one little line

No I took it off and still has scratches
So just got my THIRD S6 Edge now.. This one is better, the cloudiness is gone.. but there is a pattern of subtle dots going diagonally all over the screen. Only visible on full brightness, but definitely not as annoying as the black scratches and cloudiness on my previous one. I guess I'll just live with it.. I did get Geek Squad Protection so will go without the Zagg anyway, as the screen looks and feels better with it off.

Diagonal dots? Sounds like the display matrix to me. If so, that's normal. This being your third device, you're now looking closer than most and if you're looking that closely, you will definitely be able to notice the display matrix. Nothing to worry about there.
