why do you believe that? is there a technical limitation, or do you see a lack of development on the platform?

It is very unlikely that Teclast will dedicate resources into making new software for our devices. Especially with tablets newer than ours in the market, and no rumours around. Perhaps you could also consult the techtablets forum, which is much more specialized and informed in Teclast.

What I notice with many Tech companies (ASUS, HTC, Onda...) it's that they usually release just one upgrade for each device.
For example if your device came with Android I, they will release an upgrade for Android J, and that's it. The devices which will get the Android K upgrade are the ones which came with Android J.

Now that HT has released their first android mobile, is there any cance that any of the android projects on Xperia will be dug up agein and new attempts to make this wonderful phone even better?
There is already a thread about Android and the X1. I don't understand why people that want Android buy WM-phones...

lol...you have a point there....
maybe because the G1 hardware is crap. Or maybe they just want to try android before buying an android phone.
Not being a smart ass, just saying.
Maybe because Android has lot of programs which windows doesn't.
Oddly enough, on the Magic forums is a thread with people asking about putting WinMo on the Magic.
People with a WinMo phone want to try Android.
People with Android phones want to try WinMo.
It's kind of strange.

Well the sad truth is that we are all a little ... crazy about mobile phones maybe ????
and we want to change ... also if its for worse ... and try new things ... thats the truth ...
cheers
i want android on the phone because i want to be able to try many different things on the same phone I didnt buy xperia for the winmo i bought it for its hardware so that it would b cabably to run pretty much anything installed on it smoothly. not to mention i loved the design and the qwerty keyboard and yes i know there is an android thead and i've looked at it and tried 0.8 and 0.9 but none of them worked. you could boot android but the phone was just an empty shell nothing worked. thats why im exited to know if any progress has been made since then.

It might also be because of the stupid Google Developer crap where their shipping company is charging $200 to ship out of USA to some countries.
Just got word of windows 8 with support for arm processors was released. Looking forward to see if anyone can port it to our lovely touchpads.

Well someone in the other thread said a good idea is to develop a bounty to get it done, in that thread someone calcjulated about $200 in donations for it. I add $10 more here.

I am probably going to catch Hell for this from at least a handful of people, but I need to point this out:
Any sort of port of Windows, in any form, to the TouchPad without the developer first receiving permission from Microsoft (which you won't get) and the user of said port purchasing a license from Microsoft is illegal. I vote to have this thread and any more like it that appear pulled.
I was actually unaware of this fact. I apologize for creating this thread then. And please pull it if necessary.

It should be fine and dandy if we use the development builds, but not the full releases. Development builds are used for development, which is generally what happens here. Once the full licensed versions come out, we cannot use those without the consent of Microsoft.

exactly. Ive been running windows 8 dev preview on my desktop for months now, and I didnt pay a dime. They install a kill switch on them, so whatever development we make may be short lived, because i dont see Microsoft selling a ARM version to the general public. I think that they will only make it available to OEM's in the long run.
Well a dev could always release some sort of tool or method to turn a Windows 8 iso into a ROM, without actually having to release a full version of windows. We could all use our own legal copies then to make our own ROM.

So its basically the same situation as Windows Mobile ROMs back in the day. It was a grey area and since you couldn't buy a Windows Mobile upgrade ROM, cooked ROMs were the only option. I haven't heard of Microsoft taking any action against all of the WM roms that were posted over the years.

The difference is that those WM devices had licenses for at least some version of WM, making it a gray area. The Touch pad has nothing of the sort. There is no gray ara for it. None the less, I am curious to see where development goes with this.
Nothing to see here folks, the leak was a fake.

Exactly right, this thread is ok for discussion, but we can't go down this road for the TouchPad. Sorry.
This is it. Given that both devices are internally differnet, no rom or custom development would ever work on both and there's not even carrier compatibility. Given that devices like the SGS III has different forums for carriers, I believe that the Razr i should at least have it's own forum. What do you think?
Like I said in another thread, I agree. I'd like to see this happen.

Agree. Own forum or at least a sub forum here.
-Sent from my Razr i on AT&T.-
Agreed. The processor is really different from the Razr M so the I should have it's own subforum.
Gets my vote too. Had my Razr i since mid week and I'm really liking it. What I really like is I never lose signal compared to my previous HTC One phones. Battery life rocks too. Great phone but it needs its own forum. We'll still visit the M forum

Yep,
Another subforum would make sense like good old days of G3/G4 wizards (anyone remember these?)
It definatly need its own subforum for development, accesories not so much. they are different models but only in the inside.
It just baffles me that the the galaxy s3 gets full forums just for different carriers and yet the razr i still hasn't gotten a forum. It is a released phone after all, and I'm pretty sure it'll become available in non-LTE markets like South America and many contries accross europe.
Any reason it's not showing up in the Find Your Device search thing?
Yes!
I agree. I'd like to see this happen

My friend had recently purchased a Samsung GT-18750 from another friend thinking I could install android onto it. After hearing his proposal to do so I thought It'd be possible but I knew nothing about Windows phones. So he had given it to me and I have had no luck in my search for installing android onto this phone. I understand that there are plenty of custom ROM's for it but I need android as you can't do much with a windows phone that you could do with an android, also that windows has no good apps or games that are at least common in any way. So I was wondering if there was anyone who could direct me on how to install android onto a Samsung GT-18750?
Is this another "hey I have a windows phone here that I want to shoe horn android onto" dude seriously go buy an android phone as there is a lot more android phones out there to choose some so this request pardon my lack of manners is just stupid

For now it's not possible because requires a signed custom ROM.
Actually there are no "real custom rom", only modded CSC file (configuration file for rom) that edit the Registry.

Anything that will put any sort of android on there. I do not care if it is modded or not real or rooted or it voids the warranty. I would just like to help my friend. The main issue is not having the android apps he wants. Even if there is some way to get android apps on there?

NOT, can you please taunt my on my lack of knowledge in the field of Windows Phones. If you have trouble understanding English please go here http://www.englishpage.com/

I have an android phone, I have a jflte with the Pacman 4.4.4 ROM. What the gentleman couldn't understand is it wasn't I that had purchased the device. And if he had read it then he would understand that from that post he could of never determined that I had not bought an android device, in saying that his implication was to say that I would need to buy an android device to get android. He did not read the post, and as it seems to me that you concludes that he had, then I am only to left to conclude that he has trouble understanding the English language in its full form, something else that lead to suggest his lack in understanding of English is the way he constructed his statement; although it may not be true, he himself left enough evidence to believe so. So you must understand that either he did not read the post or does not understand English.
LineageOS sounds great but how can we ask developers to build it?
Sadly, a lot of us will realize that the SM-N910 is really not a very good developer phone, and the software stack makes it very clear. Samsung and carriers obsoleted the phone right after the galaxy Note 5, and they don't care about supporting it much anymore. Using the stock OS will open people up to viruses and malware on Android, and that's just harsh.
Don't get it all wrong. It has really excellent hardware, and code exists to put LineageOS (up to Nougat) on to it, but it's difficult to say that unless people can work together to support it officially, I don't really have a lot of confidence that a huge project like that can work solely on willpower in the end.
Regardless, here's a thread that appears to have a build for SM-N910T (trltetmo), you might want to check it out: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-lineageos-14-1-t3536401
