everything is still updating so I can't be 100% sure, but I just did like he 50th search today for an update and it actually found one, just downloaded and it's still installing. Try doing a manual search now!
edit: and it works! just setting up my gear vr now! I really can' complain to much, only had to wait an extra day on verizon which is actually really good for them.

Could you post the update online ... I have an uloacked phone and a Gear VR ... not working and have no updates available ... Would even pay you for it !!
I screwed up. I bought the Gear 2 Neo & thought it would work with Nexus 5 Lollipop
There is no option to return it because I bought it from another country.
Do I have any recourse or way to use the device? Even with limited functionality?
Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Are there are foreseeable plans of a Samsung update to allow pairing with Nexus 5 Lollipop?

Use the gear manager v1.2. Some reported that it works with lollipop. But I have not tried it.

I tried 1.2 but it didn't seem to connect to the Neo. BT connected, but the manager timed out.

Wait for Gear Manager Lollipop edition. Starting this month, it will come to S5, so automaticaly will update Gear Manager. Be patient, it will work soon. Worth a try...

How likely is it? Is using Gear Manager a compromise compared to Android Wear?
Would it be better to just sell the watch and get one that is more compatible?

I tried it on a very early alpha version of lollipop on my Samsung device and it worked. But I hate to burst your bubble, it will be at least another couple of months until it is stable and more generally available. It relies heavy on gear manager which relies on the touchwiz environment. Why, for Pete's sake, this route was chosen is maybe one of Samsung's downfalls. Within two years they will be out of the market if they keep going with their business model, this consumer market does not care, but like you, will remember. Examples of such electronic giants reduced to rubble? Nokia, Nortel, Blackberry
Consumers want stuff to work, simple without all these prerequisites that are in fine print.
Tbh you are best of selling or donate it to a family member with a Samsung phone that has to be running Jellybean 4.3 or KitKat. Preferably a galaxy phone so S4, Note3, ß5 or Note4. Others.... Will not work without breaking their OS

Anyone tried Gear 2 Neo to see if it works with the newly pushed Android 5.0.1 on i9500 and i9506?
I'm curious if it will work from day 1 on i9505 when 5.0.1 will be pushed to these devices.

I have i9506, nordic edition and gear 2 neo, and they work together. Even better than on Kitkat, as s health was not receiving the Gear data for pedometer and such.
Now even that works. My s4 on the otherhand is laggy as hell with 5.0.1 , but that is not the issue here
I've installed i9505 5.0.1 and Samsung Gear doesn't work anymore. When started, it blinks a 1-2 times and crashes silently. I cannot connect to the watch with anything else (Android Wear for ex.) either.
Any ideas?
Later edit: I enabled bluetooth debug in Android Wear and tried several more times to connect through S-Gear and now it seems it connected and is trying to install additional software... hope it works out.
Haha, phone did a factory reset on the watch and now I'm trying again to connect to it .
Later edit: after managing to soft brick my phone, I reinstalled the 5.0.1 and this time, amazingly enough, Samsung Gear worked as it was supposed to so my watch is back to normal functions again.

Hello,
I tried every possible thing I found on the internet. Even went to change the name of the phone and model in /system files, without any success. I did manage, after downgrading to 4.4.4 to connect to the gear 2 neo, but I couldn't use any of it's features except answering the phone via the watch. I'm thinking maybe I can change the ROM of the watch to tizen and then make a connection with android wear. I searched but didn't find anyone who did this on gear 2 neo. Theoretically, it should work. I will post if I manage to do something.

Answering calls work with Lollipop too,just pair watch in Bluetooth settings. Second... You should install Android rom on watch,not Tizen. There is also Android Wear mod possibility... Roms for Gear 2 should also work on Neo (except camera)

Anyways guys am having issues after I put the S6 in the gear vr device in it tells me to take it out as it needs to Run the setup process and install the apps.
No matter what I try after doing that it always says no connection. Yet I have a working WiFi connection as well as mobile data connection from which I've tried it numerous times.
Any ideas what I can do to make it work.
I've also downloaded the Oculus mobile apk and installed the Oculus Cinema Apk on the phone. Still nothing works.
Any help will be appreciated .
Did the vr come with SD card? If so, put the SD card in and it should install and setup. At least that's what I did on the note4 vr. It might be different.

People with the wrong CSC have run into that issue on the Note 4 as well. Download Phone Info+ *samsung* and check your active CSC. Had the same issue with a custom rom, and had to reinstall the full firmware via Odin in order to get the error fixed (flash the firmware under CSC in Odin).

No SD card.
Galaxy S6/S6 Edge doesnt come with expandable storage .
So guess everything needs to be downloaded .

Shouldn't be a problem. Try downloading the official rom from sammobile and installing it from ODIN's csc field. That's at least how I solved the same error message.

Just download the tool I mentioned earlier to see which one. If that doesn't work you could also try one from one of the supported regions and changing the CSC to match (US/UK primarily).

I am already storage challenged with the Note 4 and a 128gb sd card and have to content juggle with the Gear VR. The S6 would be too constrained for me without the sd slot. Even the 128gb model, since I already have 23GB more storage than that with my Note 4 and 128gb sd.
The Gear VR2 needs a micro sd slot so people can put content on that and not hog up internal storage space. Very shortsighted of Samsung not to do that for the S6 version and will constrain consumers loading content. Especially for video content.
They released an update on the Galaxy App store yesterday
So all is working now
It's really awesome.
Pixelated tho .
But the experience is overall really impressive !

Now go buy yourself a decent controller and set up an american credit card (to get the US paid store just download freedome from the play store and use code “w9f4ct” to get a couple of months free use). There was another thread which detailed how to set up an american credit card.

I just bought my gear vr today for my note 4 and for the same problem, all I did was restart the phone and the went through the setup again and it worked. Maybe try restarting the phone first before making the solution more complicated?

It's really immersive.
Lacks picture quality . But is basically a glimpse into the future.
I know Samsung is going to make one without a phone and slap a curved oled 4K screen in one.
That's the only way to solve the pixel story with the lenses.
But over all . If you're into watching movies and series on a huge screen with watchable quality videos then it's pretty insane.
Games too are insane.
Lacking in the graphics quality but that's because of the pixel story.
I dont want to return my note 7, but i like so much and my gear vr. And now not working with note 7! maybe someone find a solution or i must finally i must give back my note 7? thank you and sorry for my english.

I too was heartbroken with the thought of having to return my Note 7. Actually hugged old boy when I left him at the T-Mobile store....
Alas the S7 Edge has given me some solace until the Note 8 is release... It's a nice phone but I keep getting the feeling that something is missing...
Still my VR works with it so there's that.

finally, I thought it very well, and I are extremely difficult to return the best devices ever caught in my hands! I was the owner of all the series of note 1.2.3.4.5 (simple and dual), and now to 7. I keep it then, and simply will pray every day, to find someone to analysis with gear vr oculus, and of course not started by samy lockable and other applications and imei, to cause us to turn back our devices! I believe that the samsung has regretted that he did definitively withdrawing the note 7. will see how the devices not gysrisan back, 99% will have no problem.!
I do not understand the stupidity of samsung, block the app of gear vr, for not to burn our face the device! This can happen when simply talking on phone. and this would be more serious.
I will not go back to the device, and will not succumb to blackmail. I have the device a month and works perfectly.
All this was a finger from its rivals, and I think we will learn perhaps after many years!

I received my Galaxy watch three yesterday here in Canada. I know officially the new features such as ECG are not available here. I'm doubtful they will be anytime soon. How can I somehow get these features outside of the US on my device? I'm pretty sure it's possible but I'm not sure where to start and look for proper watch three instructions that won't mess up my device. Thank you.

I still can't figure out the proper procedure for the Watch 3. ?
I was using online chat to Samsung support yesterday in the UK and he told me that the ECG and blood pressure monitor would be working when I receive the watch next Friday.
Unfortunately, I didn't get a copy of the message transcript although I guess I could ask for it.
Does anyone know if this is true?

Yes it's the R840 model, Tizen 5.5.0.1, build BTG6.
I don't use Samsung Pay, but everything I use seems to work fine
I installed the BP and ECG option using the "without a PC" option. Worked like a charm. Many thanks!
One question: will there be app updates available for the patched versions?
WIthout PC option worked perfectly on US BTE model.

I know the contacts do not sync for us pixel 4 XL owners, but Samsung store person told me that other features need Samsung phone. Hope someone can confirm.
I followed the video and the new SHM app appeared on my watch for a second but when I clicked it, it just closed and then disappeared.
Now, whenever I try to install the "Retailmode" app, I get the message on my phone that the APK was installed, I see the samsung accessory service transferring it to my phone but the the wear app pops up a toast saying "failed to install the app".
I checked under my wear app's list of installed app and it's not there (should it appear there)? Any idea what's going on? This is a US model GW3.
