As you can see most of my memory is comsumed by Android OS so i got slow performance[emoji31] .I also tried some kernels too.virtual memory part of kernel auditor can add some memory but not more than 512MB.And this is not enough to use flawlessly. So how can i add more virtual memory? Please help me if you know the trick. Thanks[emoji4]

You can try this app (for me is working fine, I have formated my SD Card as External Storage):

Apps wont help, you need more ram
Is there anyone update this Help/QA?
I am facing same problem of less RAM using and need using RAP SWAP to External Memory Card for Samsung Galaxy
You need a Rooted device and a kernel with SWAP support and the above app should work.

I ordered Silicon Power microSDHC 16 GB Class 6, I inserted it in my phone like this:

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then I went to Setting -> Storage (CM7 nightly build), there were three sections "SD card, Internal storage, and Additional storage: /mnt/emmc"
SD card is being detected fine, 5.6GB. Internal storage reported as 1.87GB. But Additional storage is "Unavailable" I don't know how can i fix it, and mounting the SD Card is grey out in that section.
First, which Nightly are you using and are you using a custom kernel?
Second, try rebooting.
Third, turn the phone off, remove the card, reinsert it then turn the phone on again.

Did it.
Did it.
Just to be sure:
1- Is the SDcard formated?
2- Have you tried it in another device?

You are using an older Nightly from before GB bootloaders were supported. I think that is likely the trouble.
Flash the newest Nightly (0831).
Fixed it! Flashed it to the latest version (cm_galaxysmtd_full-104.zip) and now it recognized the card.
Ive noticed as I've been flashing more and more roms, this partition seems to be almost full.

Does anyone know if it's normal for this partition to be so full?? Or is it a result of something gone wrong in the process of flashing?
Edit: I'm also on stock with root and CWM at the moment.
Thanks in dvance!

yup.Its the /system patition where you place your system apps,frameworks,libs,ringtone,sounds,boot animations etc...so its normal to be full.Only your internal sd should not be full

Exactly what I was looking for!
Thanks
stock roms will always take up more space than custom roms, you have a normal amount of space left
Yup thats true.that is basically because of the odex file every system app anfd frame work has which are deodexed in almost all custom roms which would save some memory

Guyes, when i am going to application manager it is showing memory used by installed application is 1.5 GB and free 0.5 GB.

But when i am going to storage menu option it is showing used by apps 1.49 GB but free is only 0.2 GB. Where Is remaining memory?
But when i query the same from third party application i.e. system info it is showing used 1.77 GB and free 0.2 GB.
But the most worst part is though 202 MB is free i am unable to install any application. Showing error not enough space. Is it reserved for cache or internal storage is corrupted? Is it normal? Or something wrong with my device. My device is unrooted and running stock ics, never wipe or reset. Please help.

Have you tried clearing cache ? It helps sometimes with lost memory. Boot into recovery ( VolUP+Home+Power ) and select "Clear Cache" option, that should do it.
I have the same exact problem. Did hiding cache help? Or there's other alternative?

Well thats weird. I think u can try to wipe cache, just suggestion..

I've got one of those not much difference to me when using the phone, but the speed is noticeable when transferring ROMs and stuff from the computer to sdcard

Yes it will, but my question is do you really need some a2sd script with IncS? 1 GB is not enough of internal memory for you?
it will be more than enough for 1GB internal memory. But I never uninstall apps that I no use, I will just keep it on my device. Some of the games and apps I installed the apk was a big file. Just for some information sharing regarding this special micro sd card make for android that i found online and just purchased it few days ago.
My sdcard is the 32gb variant. Yeah it's fast

Hello fellow XP users!
I know this topic has been asked like a hundred times but the threads I've read present insufficient info that I need and most are clutteted.
I just want to ask if the SanDisk 64GB (SDXC, I guess) with product code SDSDQUA-064G-U46A is compatible with the Xperia PLAY with the following conditions:
1. There should be no lag in games
2. Will perform at optimal levels even if nearly full
In other words, is it completely compatible with no bugs whatsoever?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT:
Here's a pic of the product

EDIT2:
Also, I've read HERE that there is no difference between an ULTRA and MOBILE ULTRA card. Is it okay then to just use the ULTRA card as it is more readily available (not hard to find) and, of course, should be without bugs whatsoever?
I have the exact same one and have been using it for about a yea in my PLAY with no issues what so ever. It works great. Been very pleased.

Working fine even if you fill it almost to the brim? No slowdowns on games? And is yours the same code as I posted above?
Thanks for the reply, you have been helpful as always.
Without taking by card out it does appear to be the same card.

I'll take a look and let you know.
This is the card I have and have been using for a yar now, with no issues. Even when I get it full to the point of less then 1gb.
