Deploy Android Studio in a Mac lab - Android Studio

Hey Guys,
Does anyone have experience deploying AS in a computer lab more specifically in a Mac lab? Currently, the only way we found was to install AS directly on an image of a mac and deploy this image everywhere.
Is there a way to do some thing like "apt-get update androidStudio" to make it work everywhere without dialog boxes and on any kind of accounts?
Thanks

help installing Remote Desktop Manager (RDM)

ok i didnt seach threads extensively but i figured this was an easy question to answer.
i downloaded RDM and installed the cab onto my phone. on the program i have the options for:computer, user, password, and domain. Is there a part two of the app to run on my computer?
im trying to connect to a computer running windows 2000.
You will need do enable Remote Desktop on your PC. Here is a link how to do it:
Click
Regards
Is your computer running Windows 2000 Professional or Server?
Professional does not support remote desktop/terminal services connections.
Server needs to be enabled in Add/Remove Programs, Windows Components. It will be called Terminal Services and somewhere along the way you will be asked what mode to install it in. Be sure to choose remote administration mode, not application mode.
ok the link you gave was for windows xp? does that make a difference?
i think i have windows 2000 pro. its deff not a server. i managed to get
a program called remote desktop 2.0 to access my computer by opening ports, however this program views the desktop in full color and is very laggy and slugish.
RDM aside is there any really good remote desktop program to use? i if you could help me set it up i would really appreciate it.
ive used logmein in the past, however this is like a six step process and i would prefer something simpler like a program.

Projecting Nexus One on PC

Hi,
I need a software which will help me project Nexus One Screen onto my PC. I used a Java based software Droid(at)Screen for G1. It is not working for nexus One.
Can anyone help plz.
Thanks in Advance
If you have root, then search for droid VNC server on the market.
even without root, it might work for viewing purposes (i.e you likely won't be able to type or click).
Works well with most VNC client / viewer applications - in fact, you could view it through a http link in your browser without a VNC client if java is installed / working ok on your machine.
Thanks Sd00 for the response. Actually, I am new to these devices, so couldnt understand what you had mentioned. (actually its too much of hightech for me). Can you please let me know what I need to install on the phone or check?
Thanks
Install droid vnc server app from the market, run the app, press start button on the app, read the http it shows you on the screen & type it in to the address bar of your internet browse, waa laa.

Remote Apps on TP

Hi All,
I wanted to share with you something that I think could develop into something quite useful (and cool ). I have successfully managed to launch remote applications from my Linux server onto my TP (similar to Citrix). For those that might be somewhat skeptical I've attached a screenshot below. And yes, your eyes do not deceive you – it most certainly is Word 2007 running! But before everyone starts jumping up and down with excitement, it's not an TP application that I've developed – more proof of concept.
If people are interested in trying this out themselves please let me know and I'll put up some instructions. Just a wording of warning though, this is a little fiddly and requires the user to use CLI via Executah and also a Linux PC (not sure how to achieve this with a Windows PC).
Also, if there are any Xterm/XServer/WebOS Developer experts for the TP here that can help me, please come forward as I would like to push this to be more GUI based so I could really use some help.
Thank you.
How does this compare to splashtop remote?
Wow very neat!
Don't run Linux so not for me but i'd find this useful if someone knew a way to do this via windows?

Click to collapse
it's not as advance as splashtop. It's merely just a remote application running on a linux server. The example I posted was of word running via wine on my ubuntu server. However, I've managed to get rdesktop installed on the touchpad which means there is a possibility of running a windows application. I will try this out and see if it works.
I will report back as soon as I have some info. I post a screenshot of a windows app running, asumming I can get one to run.

[Q] TeamSpeak3 Server

Hi there,
Is it possible that someone could develop a TeamSpeak 3 server for android? (Not the teamspeak 3 client, the server)
It would be awesome as you could run it on your phone and not have to run a pc 24/7. It coluld use wifi and 3G if you on the go.
I also though it may be possible that you can install in on linux for android using Linux Installer. Then install the linux server adition found here.
Please respond if you can try develop this or if you think its possible and know what you talking about
Thanks

[Q] Windows 8.1 Embedded Handheld

Was reading some stuff on:
no allowed to post links msdn(dot)microsoft(dot)com/en-us/library/dn715933(v=winembedded.81).aspx
Windows 8.1 Embedded Handheld is basically Windows Phone 8.1... but then we got:
"ID_CAP_ENTERPRISE_SHARED_DATA"
It's replacing the "ID_CAP_INTEROPSERVICES" in enterprise apps... I'm just wondering if you need an Enterprise/OEM developer account to use this cap? Anyone tried anything with this and deploying it to Windows Phone?
No time currently to test anything, was reading about this during a train ride...
