I have bought this phone on ebay and it had imei problem, imei was different then original. Phone is sim locked on T-Mobile. Then i searched how to change imei and used commands shown here:
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f799/repair-imei-lg-g4-tmobile-t-1998692/
After that i found correct method and restored IMEI, MEID, ESN, but then compared full NV table to other H811's NV table and discover that some NV items are inactive. Unfortunately I have no backup Please HELP ME...
I'm not sure if I'll be much help as I'm in the middle of the same problem. I have a qcn backup from a version 20i. NV backup didn't work at all for me. Which software version are you on?

20i also mine. All EFS data is stored in modem, modemst1 and modemst2 partitions. I know that when you need restore Motorola phones full stock, you must enter fastboot erase modemst1 and modemst2 command, then fastboot flash modem.img and all EFS data is restored. I have tried this method but don't works here. It must be something like this to restore EFS stock.

@ryang872 Is your H811 sim unlocked? Can you show me your NV backup?
The NV backup that I took is all zeroed out. Which files do you need? Strange thing with mine is that after a while, it'll show network locked on stock firmware. I then flash a backup of an AOSP rom, and the network lock disappears.
My main problem is sim unlock on this phone, Device unlock app can't unlock it because EFS is changed. NV backup need to analyze which NV items are changed after sim unlock. Now you say interested thing, after installing AOSP Rom like CyanogenMod it is sim unlocked? Exactly which AOSP Rom do you use? I'll try it...
P.S I found QCN backup restored it and recovered NV items: 571, 2497, 2498, 2499, 2500 but other NV items i wrote, are again inactive...
I'm not really sure what's going on with the AOSP working. It's Resurrection Remix. Were you able to successfully use the wipe commands through adb? Mine failed with 'No space left on device' so I couldn't get any further than that. What exactly did you use to read/write the NV items? If I could make it that far I may be a little more useful to you.

Hi.
I have a problem.
Radio band lost in my captivate.
No sim card initialisation.
I put sim card in it... but nothing.
In settings radio shows unknown.
Att captivate.
Can you provide a few more details of your situation?
What rom are you using?
Who is your network provider?
What happened just before you lost your phone connection?
It sounds like you might have a messed up /efs folder, but we would need some additional information to be sure.
Rom was slim ics 4.0.4
I downloaded some programs from play market. And was playing with them.
When it lost i went back to stock gb 2.3
I have tried several sim cards... but all the same
Ok, that sounds like a bad /efs folder.
When you put in a SIM card and go to the settings-about phone-status page, do you see anything under IMEI?
Nothing.
Phone number, network, mobile network type, Imei and imei sv show unknown.
Also baseband version is unknown too
Then you have a messed up /efs folder. There is a post in the development section that tells you how to fix it - here.
Can someone post recovery image for cappy?? pls. found utility but dont have a valid image for restore. pls help anyone.
here you go, bottom post.
Have tried with this. But no good.
Need img file for restore...
used this tool to restore nv data.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308546
but it needs a valid efs image file.
but mine is corrupted.
pls need valid efs backup image to restore mine....

Thats mostly a Samsung issue, on HTC`s and most other phones EFS data is on a separate non-removable partition. There is usaualy no need to backup this partition.
Imei error

You will have to get it back first. You may have to flash a stock RUU and that may help.

HTC doesn't have a EFS partition. You must be coming from a Samsung device. No? That's why you asking that.

I realized fastboot erase all partitions and installed the rom XT1098 , after that the phone only shows that my imei is 0 and is no network, only have signal in WCDMA mode, the mobile phone is possible to work on WCDMA without IMEI ? I realized that after all I've done my baseband has changed and I can not make it back to baseband version that was ... I got back up the PDS and the TWRP already restored a custom rom with backup the PDS and IMEI yet 0 ... I wanted my phone working in normal GSM :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
already put the correct rom , I went back to 4.4.4 , updated to lolipop and nothing IMEI 0 and Baseband always different
My Baseband was msm8626bp_1032.3105.93.00R dstv_cust
the Current is msm8626bp_1032.3105.93.00y dstv_cust
I do not know where the problem is and what to do !!!
I read about this on another post, and as it sounds, the only fix is to replace the board. There's still no way of recovering a lost imei if "fastboot erase all" was executed. (Who in the world told you to do that? It is well known that this command will permanently brick moto g). And even if you could somehow get an imei through flashing someone's backups, your provider would kick you out of the network because of an falsified imei (it's a unique number, assigned to the phone). The system will report imei=unknown if pds is corrupt, read-only or in any way not accessible to the system. Then there it's a good chance of restoring the imei. But after "fastboot erase all" the system will report imei=0 and that is the end of the story. Motorola doesn't give any tools or information on how to manipulate imei.

Hello everybody!
After restoring with TWRP a backup of MIUI by xiaomi.eu 8.1.3.0 (MAACNDI) stable, the phone shows baseband version unknown and No SIM card message, though the SIM works perfectly fine in other phones. Also, when dialing *#06# it shows correct MEID and both IMEIs, while in settings > about phone > Status > IMEI information it shows the right MEID and IMEIs, but it shows Unknown under IMEI SV (Slot1) and IMEI SV (Slot2).
I've already tried restoring older back-ups, fastboot flashing to global rom, wiping dalvik and cache, multiple reboots. I've run out of ideas. Any ideas about how to get the baseband and the GSM function back?
Also I don't have a back-up phone and I am kind of desperate. Please Help! Thanks!
You didn't back up efs partition with twrp? You should try this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/how-to/xiaomi-mi5-efs-backup-restore-methods-t3432730/page8
I have a TWRP backup of the efs, but after restoring it, there is no change. Actually I think the backup is corupted and it is the culprit that broke my phone, cause when I restored the backup I accidentaly restored the efs too and after that the sim isn't recognized. I tried following the above tutorial, but I'm facing a problem with QPST cause I cannot restore the modified qcn file. It gives me the following error "Received an invalid command from the phone" and the status "Memory Restore Failed!". I don't know what to try next...
For those having the same problem after an efs restore in TWRP this is THE SOLUTION:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/fix-empty-imei-unknown-baseband-sim-t3480781
THANKS for your answer!
With which version of twrp did you back up efs partition?
The problem was generated by a bug of the TWRP recovery (seems the 3.0.2.0 version, which I used for backup and restore was the one with problems). I think the bug was fixed in later versions, so you should use the latest version to avoid the problem.
My phone is working flawlessly again.
Details about the bug that causes the problem can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68500121&postcount=64
Cheers!
Ok Thanks i already installed last twrp and back up efs, i just wanted to be sure about this as i didn't want to go all through this process if i have any trouble

If you have a backup of your EFS partition in TWRP, restore it and that should fix it. If you do not, you may not have a way to get it back. I lost the IMEI on one of my G5S+ devices and didn't have a backup. I created a backup and then copied the persists from a G5 to the TWRP EFS backup folder and then did a restore from TWRP. This worked, however, I notice this device has a lot of issues with holding a reliable GPS signal.
It was my only option to get IMEA back but you might read this thread as a warning.
