Also I want to know if any of you are having problems with the phone and how it is, post your feedback of the phone here.
Well you can start reading some of the treads and you will get all answers you want.

Kiyori could be please specify your source.........the upgrade still seems a little hazy.
Further, I read that the galaxy s has been discontinued in india..............so why is this confusion still existing in your mind. You might not find the phone in the market.
And to your bad luck, neither is the Nexus S seeming to launch in India immediately. Google isn't a company which keeps india in its priority list...........so we could not see the nexus S launch in next 4-6 months for sure. Maybe we might see the romoured Galaxy S2 before that if samsung goes in for one more 100+ countries simultaneously launch as it did for the Galaxy S. ;-)

I enquired from the sales department of samsung, I dont know how much of this is true, but they said that there is a shortage of Super Amoled screens so they had to stop supply of Galaxy S in India, it should be back by january end, and apparently the Nexus S is to be launched by feburary mid.
Hello good people. Doesn't anyone know if the TF701 is getting this upgrade?
We can hope so but I've not seen anything official from Asus.
Highly unlikely imo but you never know. We are approaching the 18 month point that marks the end of official support.

But I think we're just coming up on 12 months, no? Wasn't this device released in November of 2013?

September 2013 (I thought it was August but I bought mine in Sep)
So that means soon we will be in month 14.
I feel like Asus abandoned us
I've been holding off putting a third party ROM on my TF701T as Asus had been good about updating other tablets. But I feel like their crappy docking hinge caused lower sales which makes them care very little about this particular product. My guess is we aren't going to see Lollipop officially. Good things there is active development going on.

He (pershoot) has said it a couple of times in his CM thread that he was going to make a lollipop rom, but it was a while ago, and I assume most people forgot about it or something.

I asked the people of ASUS and they said there are no plans a.t.m. for an android 5.0 release
Good news, pershoot released an unofficial cm 12 (android 5) port for tf701t yesterday
droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=3671
I've just installed it via cwm recovery.
While I don't want to raise false hope, I just want to share one special brochure made by ASUS Singapore, indicating that there might be a 5.0 update for the tf701t. http://pricewatch.vr-zone.com/itshow/pricelists/view/ASUS7
Hmm, that's interesting. We can only hope.
We cross fingers

update
I just got two updates in the last to days. They usually put out updates before they do a major upgrade like lollipop so I take this as a hopeful sign.

No, these weren't just app updates they were system updates. Got to watch the android dude a little bit both times. After the first my background changed after the second the pulldown changed. Still on 4.4.2
While I was in contact with ASUS support I asked about Android L to the TF701T. First they said that they had no info, but later I got a reply, where they said that the had contacted the RD-department and that ASUS have no plans on releasing Android L for the TF701T.
We can onlu hope that this info is incorrect or ASUS change their minds. They havn'nt made any offical statement at all regaring Android L to tablets, have they?

It doesn't surprise me as we are approaching 2 years. ASUS don't really release updates beyond 18 months. All their latest transformers seem to be using Intel chips for Android as well.
Just read this online. French carrier, SFR has revealed the release date for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5, and LG G3. Sorry don't know how to paste a link.

January. Not too bad I guess.
But S5 already start receiving 5.0 update in Poland
Sent from my SM-N910F using XDA Free mobile app
Is anyone else annoyed that the S5 is getting the update first?
Note 4 is the companies most latest phone . I expected it to get lollipop first or at least in parallel with the S5. Feel really cheated. I upgraded from my Note 2 to my Note 4 because I understand newer devices get the latest firmwares first and here a 6 month old phone is getting the update first. I guess it because the S5 is more common right?
Anyway very annoyed why should I go and get the latest hardware if its going to be shuffled aside and not get updated first
I wouldn't be too butthurt over a ~4 week wait. The core functionality of your phone will remain fundamentally the same once you upgrade anyway.
And yes, I do believe it's because the S series is considered more mainstream than the Note line.

as an owner of... well every samsung because i'm an addict, i can explain why.
1. The S5 had poor sales. They want to kick up its popularity and 'apologise' to owners of it by letting them get 5.0 first
2. The note 4 is the only samsung to get 4.4.4 - so it makes sens to get the update last of the modern phones, as its already ahead.
3. it means we get it after the S5 owners work out all the bugs, right now they cant get root working reliably, and no mods or deodexing are even possible.
SEARCH first before post!!!

The same thing happened with note 3, Poland an update really early. Then kitkat was given to DBT. Its just a matter of time. There is no need to rush it.

Micromax Canvas A1 Android One smartphone receiving update to Lollipop 5.1 But Not our Nexus 4.
Not only micromax android one, Karbonn and spice are too receiving OTA 5.1 update, Cheap 1Gb ram phone getting updates and nexus the highend phone won't. I thought my phone get better support than Micromax Spice and Karbonn. But wow I am totally surprised

Nexus 4:
First released: November, 2012
Discontinued: November 1, 2013
What device do you think google priorize?
If was my decision, definitely Android One.

The gnex is only one year older than n4 but it didn't receive kitkat, so yes, just because it was released a year before.
Also, Nexus 7 2013 users still don't get 5.1
BTW, I prefer a tested bug free 5.1 update because it could be the last update Nexus 4 receive
I would be absolutely SHOCKED if we got even one more update after 5.1. I wasn't even expecting it to get that, but I think Google just wants the major bugs patched before they send it to EOL land so at least they're leaving it on a stable build.
I would be shocked if updates are stopped before it is impossible for technical reasons?!
HTC used to abandon one year old phones without technical reasons.
It cost money to keep updating so they will stop whenever they feel like it. The hardware is to a point now where it will support updates a lot longer than it used to.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Free mobile app
Yes but HTC is not Google. And it does not cost anything if done right. My PC is from 2007 and still gets updates. And there are much more different PCs than Nexus devices. Its all about good SW design and hardware abstraction, isn't it?
Um, the Nexus 7, which is older got it already.
Android 5.1 launched on Android One devices, not on a Nexus (Indonesian One devices shipped with 5.1 almost a month before any Nexus got it.)
The Indian devices never got 5.0; so this is straight from KitKat.
Finally, the 4 will get it. Just be patient. Even the 9 and the newer 7 haven't gotten it, so comparing it against AO is a bit of cherry-picking.
Frankly, we're damn lucky we got 5.0 .
I was 100% certain that 4.4.4. was the EOL point for the Nexus 4.
I'll get a good laugh if my N4 gets the update before my new N9 though.
this is nexus !!
you can use the big world of android rom and ubuntu and firefox os .
Dont worry .
The story is not over yet .
Hope Google not abandon Nexus 4

I'm afraid they inevitably will, but I'm sure the devs will take good care of it. Plus, devs often optimise kernels and roms so they are better than what Google offers.
I've contacted a mod to close this thread. It's so ridiculous some times...

Hi guys,
Recently Google announced that tomorrow 6th of December when they release 8.1 Oreo they're going to release also Android Go Oreo for low end devices, and would like to ask it would be possible to port this in the Nexus 4 ?
Because the device can handle it and it would be perfect for it to have an official lightweight rom
Here is also the link from the announcement

Yes I am also interested in this!!!

well depends, as a phone is ok but with only 16gb of storage installing only a few apps the storage gets occupied quickly or with only the Android OS installed but with GO at least you have latest Android OS and the low storage requirement is a plus...
Or on the other hand i could install other roms but something official is not bad either as a option !
