see post 2 for versions and downloads
i noticed today, my gear manager updated to a new version and downloaded and installed 3 new items, im guessing theyre overwrites to previous software, anyway
its updated again today, and again downloaded and installed another 3 items,
i never had a problem with my gear manager, so the question im asking is, has this fixed bluetooth disconnect for non samsung devices, and are the signed apps, working more consistently

Some of the data in that 159mb is only download as a package to install the software. And then deleted. So don't worry about the size. The problem gear manager has. Well that samsung has. Is they don't update the software so to speak. They release a new one. So to overwrite our already installed they need to rename the files while installing . And sometimes it conflicts cos of the filenames . It's best to just uninstall all. Then install fresh. Pain in the are. But clean installs always more smooth

Yes. Choose a version that worked for you. Then before configuring it. Disable it's Internet connection with a firewall. I recommend x posed framework with xprivacy

Thanks man. I'll give it a try with droidwall or xprivacy
I see your gear 2 is rooted. Is it worth doing that?

Well. root is needed if you want to modify files in sdb.exe and/or in tizen sdk but if you flash tizenmod rom. That's pre rooted anyway

Last week I got the Gear 2 Neo, and was using it with my Note 8, which wasn't fully supported. Spec wise it seemed like it should work, but I had to change the build.prop to make it work. I purchased a watchface that I really liked.
Today I got my Note 4, and when I went to go find the same watchface in the store, it's no longer there.
Is there a way to transfer a backup from one device to another device?
No change your build.prop of your note 4 to match your note 8

So I actually need to change my build.prop to the same model S5? Gear Manager doesn't work with the Note 8, so I had to change it to that to get it to download and setup. I did everything I wanted while the Note 8 was an S5, but changed it after. Almost everything worked then, except the app store.

Yeah I think so. Change it to the same build prop as the device you bought the app. Then once you got it. Change it back

Sorry guys... I have a little doubt... Yesterday I update my rom in my Galaxy Note 4 sm-910c and today my gear 2 have high drain of battery, what I can do? Can some one help me? Maybe Bluetooth problem? Thank you for the advice!
Note 4, SM-910C Model.
Does this now work non-Samsung phones on lollipop? I'm just getting a crash on start-up. Not sure if it's something I'm doing or it doesn't work with ART.
As I read, the gear manager isnt compatible with ART yet. Im waiting too so I can finally use my gear neo again.
We need to wait until gear mánager work with art

FYI: I just updated my Samsung Gear app to the latest version: 2.2.15022599 a couple of days ago (Android 5.0.1).
I have a 920C and want to put Microsoft Word on it. The play store says my phone is not compatible. Is this because of the CSC and if so, can I change it (preferably without root)?
The current CSC is EGY; I am using it in the UK on Three.
Before you ask, I don't want to put one of the alternatives to Word - it has to be Word itself.
Thanks

Just download the APK, links below:
Word - http://www23.zippyshare.com/v/J1NGdeFD/file.html
Excel - http://www37.zippyshare.com/v/DJtFyMbB/file.html
Got both on my 920C and work fine. Not sure if they'll update via play store but they are the latest versions.
Someone else had this issue & I confirmed the same "device not compatible on the play store" on my N920T. I tried installing the microsoft apks from my stock ROM (BOH4) & for some reason they would fail to install when I was on BOH6.
Anyways, install it from the Samsung Galaxy App store, the Microsoft apps installed just fine for me there. I'm not a fan of those apps though & prefer using the old Quick Office Pro app better.
It isn't pre-installed in your device? I had the Microsoft apps pre-installed in mine. Strange =/

As per title since I upgraded my SM-N920C every single alarm reminder app I have tried so far is not 'waking up' and sounding when a Google Calendar reminder is due.
The device is not rooted, deep sleep is OK and I remember I had that issue a couple of times with Lollipop (it got self fixed without doing anything...).
Please help. [emoji20]

Hi ,
Firstly ,i am still on Lollipop ,Android v5.1.1
When i had similar issues quite some time back ,i went to stock Smart Manager ..and turn that paticular app off (.from optimization .)
I believe Marshmallow has something similar..Doze or still Smart manager . or granting of Permissions ,( when installing an app .)
Also most probably you did not you grant app permission " Always run " or something like that .?
Logic tells me , app is not waking up , its been kept in a sleep mode ?
Just remember ,
i am not on Marshmallow,so i cannot say/check ,( for sure .?)
Good luck
Thanks for your support, but I have disabled Smart Manager app optimisation already and I got no permission request while running those calendar apps.

Go to Battery > Battery Usage and hit the 'More' button. There select 'Optimise battery usage' and disable any app you want a notification from. It's probably Doze that is keeping your apps from waking up.
Unless you have some other task killer running and killing them...
Thanks however I can't go into that section right now as it force closes (issue probably related to Debloater).
I will try that as soon as I sort that other issue!
Guess you disabled the Smart Manager app (it was in your previous post, but i thought you just disabled the 'app power saving')? Enabling that again should do it.
No the fact is that I disabled some packages (mainly KNOX stuff and others) by using Debloater when I was running Lollipop.
Now that I am running Marshmallow no matter how many times I try to re enable them they still remain disabled...
About Smart Manager I didn't disable the package, I just switched it off.

hi ,
I had a similar issue on my old rooted Note 4 ,
disabled apps in stock Apps manager ( instead of freezing apps with my Titanium app )
After flashing another updated Rom ,the relevant apps were still disable .!!
As far as i can remember , i had to do a full factory reset and flash Rom again .
(Factory reset alone did not help and doing a dirty flash also did not help )
Very frustrating issue .
good luck

Yeah I did a complete wipe and factory reset too (I actually had to otherwise every single app kept crashing under Marshmallow), but I won't use custom ROMs because I want to keep the device unrooted (using payment systems and others).
I strongly hope to solve that issue 'cause I am not known for having a good memory. :shy:
OK I *might* have found out that the cause is that under Marshmallow you HAVE to enable notifications in the stock calendar app otherwise third-party ones won't work properly!
The funny thing is that it's working great and you don't get double notifications (stock+third-party apps) at all.[emoji38]

Is there any app which can allow me to disable start-up of apps on our note8?? I have a us unlocked version. Thanks.
There is an app called Startup Manager.
[Sorry I can't post Links]
Ok. Thanks. Have you tried that?
Startup manager would not work for me on the Note 8, so I replaced it with an app called Auto Start that works and has a simple design.

I use All-in-one Toolbox. It works great.
As the Header says it: This module will enable softkeys/navbar and disable hard- and capacitive buttons (home, back, recent) on your samsung device running a new samsung experience rom (7.0+).
it will NOT work on TOUCHWIZ roms (MM and below). precise: your hw keys will be disabled, but the navbar will not show up, so it would make no sense.
theoretically the module should also work on other brands devices (also MM and below), but please dont spam this thread with questions like "will it work on device xy?"...
Therefore its a magisk module: just try it! and if you feel motivated to contribute, report back!
Enjoy
btw: to disable the capacitive Button light execute this command in a terminal Emulator:
"su -c settings put system button_key_light 0":
v171030-1
confirmed working on: SM-G903F (Galaxy S5 Neo)
SM-G920F (Galaxy S6)
SM-J700T (Galaxy J7)

Hello,
I flashed the attached zip and it works. I have j5 2016 with custom rom odyssey rom ported from note 8.
Issues :
- when the keyboard appear, the background still black that hide keys.
- some issue with whatsapp even if the keyboard is hidden
- no action attached to three dots, i downloaded the custom bar navigation app from play store but no effect.
There is another zip or other method to rollback if i want to disable/hide tge nav bar ?
All thanks.

how do you enable it back?
