Replce System UI - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

Hi,
Is it possible to replace the SystemUI only without flashing a custom rom?
I want to have the original Android UI like on Cyanogenmod but Cyanogenmod does not exist (and even never will be).
If it's possible, how?

Not really. Depending on what you're wanting to change, a launcher may do what your wanting. What are you wanting to change?

You could try Good Lock apk and replace Touch wiz Launcher for Nova or Google Now launcher for a stock feel

[Dev Help Needed!] Setting Default Launcher

What do I need to do to tell my ROM (that I'm cooking up) to use Launcher Pro as the default launcher, and how can I ensure that it registers as installed by the Market, so that it updates properly? This is for the Free version of LPP, not the paid Plus version. I've got the apk, intuition tells me to put it in data/app, which I suppose would make sense, but how do I make sure that it is the default launcher on Startup? I'm planning on creating a Sense ROM minus the Sense launcher for various reasons, and that's why .

Huexxx's CM7 Stuff ...

Hi all!
Let's begin with the CM7 stuff with a must-have IMHO.
* AOSP Launcher2: Intended to those who wants a AOSP taste, to replace ADW Launcher with AOSP one. This launcher is sensible to theme modifications, so its images will turn cyan if we apply Cyanbread CM7 included theme. It's a repack for OB from frank707's CM7 GB Stock Launcher (cyanogenmod forums).

* Super AOSP Launcher2: Intended to those who wants a AOSP taste but with improved capabilities, to replace ADW Launcher with this AOSP style enhanced launcher. This launcher is not sensible to theme modifications, so its dock icons will remain at its original colour. It's a repack for OB from fabolous's Super Launcher2 for CM7 (rootzwiki forums). It features according to the author Extremely fast page scrolling and 3D app drawer, Customizeable hotseats (number, style, bg) and Auto rotation mantaining the AOSP flavour.

To install this stuff, just reboot into CWM and install zip from sdcard.
Regards.
After try both launcher, I stuck at normal AOSP one.

Installing Super AOSP Launcher2 apk, and wow it works.. hahaha
Thanks Huexxx.
Really love the normal AOSP launcher but i've spent the last half hour searching in the phone for the settings for this launcher.
Or there is no way to customize it?
No way to customize AOSP launcher AFAIK.
I thought so... ended up with Go Launcher for now.
Hi all!
I've updated first post with alternative download links.
Regards.

This stuff based on Gingerbread, the stock is still based on Froyo. You can try by extract the zip, then install it just like regular app/apk. If it doesn't work, you can remove it, or it will be removed by itself at reboot, because this is apk system.

It didn't worked.
how to i get back to the original launcher by CM7?
If you didn't uninstall it, go into the settings, go to applications, then choose you're current launcher and clear default actions of it. Then, pull led home and it will ask for which launcher you want to use.
I'm not sure its clear enough since my phone isn't in english. :S

[Q] Theming Stock Rom

Hey guys i'm like a sucker for customization n i had a glimpse at what Cyanogenmod offers for themers, but just for the sake of themes i don't wanna flash clockworkmod although i'm rooted.
is there any alternative to theme the system completely without using cyanogenmod? please helllllllllllp!!!!!!!!
i've seen a couple os 'Zip'/flashable themes but they say it requires a 'deodexed' rom or something! can somebody tel me what's that!!
n last query does any1 got any idea bout 'MORPH'?
you can't edit odex file.(can but very hard)
for deodex rom you should edit framwork-res.apk and SystemUI.apk (alsow framwork.jar if you want overglow effect)
for you, better use launcher with support themeing.(Go Launcher and ADW Launcher have best customazing and larg number of themes but Launcher pro is smooth and less battery use.)
sorry for my bad english!
yup, just install Go Launcher EX..
has so many themes to choose from..
also install Go Locker..
just use uot kitchen works with every rom and everything
doesnt matter if you are on odexed or deodexed rom

[Q] Change stock app icons with custom ones (Xperia Z3c)

Hello,
I have an Xperia Z3 Compact and am looking for a way to change stock system app icons (ideally without using another launcher). I am aware you can use an apk tool to decompile, replace icons and recompile an app, but that doesn't work with system apps like Settings, Camera and Phone. Those cannot be dumped by an apk tool. Do I need root for this? How do I proceed? Please help :crying:

Hi, currently there are bunch of applications on the marketplace (e.g. Desktop VisualizeR) able to create custom shortcuts (i.e. allowing custom icons usage) on home screens.
As far as I know, however, rooted or not, there is no possibility to change icons system-wide, so they will stay the same in app-drawers, app pickers, task managers, etc. EDIT: Oh well, not for free!
If you, like me, find that icons for Sony applications are a bit dated yet you do not want to abandon their super fast launcher, you can always wait for the upcoming Lollipop update, which hopefully will bring us a UI overhaul

Change app icons without using a Launcher

Hello. Firstly I'm sorry for my bad English. I have root access on the phone, and the Xposed board. I want to build the package without using the launcher icon, How Can I do?
I really don't have a clue as to what you are asking.
What is an Xposed board?
What package do you want to build?
Are you saying you want to build an app without an icon so it doesn't show up in launchers?
To paraphrase @grep_i, be specific. Please.

I am not sure if this is what you are trying to do, but if you just want to change app icons on a system level, you can try using something like Ninja Morph: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.ninjamorph.free
It let's you replace assets in APK packages.
