Yeah, the double tap the power button to launch the Google Camera app.
This is nice.
But, is it possible to disable the vibration?
It's long and very annoying vibration!
Thanks
If anyone knows how to completely disable it, that would be even better. Its very annoying to pull out my device to the camera being on!
Custom rom
blanco, I think you need to read the question again...
In Pure Nexus (a custom rom) you can disable the vibration. I don't know if there's another way.
Flash custom kernel and disable vibration strength using kernel auditor app. this will completely disable vibration of phone. if you dont want this then flash custom rom.
you can completely disable it from settings>display>press twice for camera

Hi all,
Is there an app out there that allows track ball wake to lock screen?
I tried "No Lock" but after with the "Locking Enabled" I can't wake with the trackball.
I also tried "LockBot", which goes to it's custom slider lock screen; however, if it's password lock screen is enabled, trackball won't wake the phone.
What I am looking for is just purely trackball/volume wake, and sliding or password (if enabled) lock screen remains unchanged.
Is there such an app out there (free coz I can't access paid market)?
And is there a widget that can just off the screen?
Thanks.
p/s- my power button no longer works.
I use Lock Enabler to sleep the screen, and Quick Boot for restarts, boot in recovery, etc
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Get LockMyDroid from the market.
It was a casual app developed by someone here on XDA. No trackball lock, but long press of search. You get used to it, trust me.
Alternatively you can put a shortcut to it on your homescreen.
Thanks for the comments.
Still doesn't work for me because pressing the trackball doesn't take me to the slider screen.
If you have Cyanogenmod then you can go in settings and set it to where you can wake the screen by pressing trackball.
Best lock screen app I've tried is Lock Now. Haven't had any issues with it - really worth the investment (I'm not the developer ).
What ROM are you running? If it's stock or a largely stock based ROM (MCR for example) you can apply this patch: Link. Basically this will enable trackball wake without any programs.

There's the problem. Most all custom roms will do exactly what you want.
My XV is running NeoWave rom and I can't find a way to add some titles to Quick Setting (Toogle Sound mode, Toogle Wifi AP, etc...) like some other custom roms, so someone please tell me how can I do that
Regard phone freezing issue, my phone sometimes freeze when charging, charging LED still on when I unplug the phone, and I can't do anything except pulling out the battery. I never had this problem with stock rom, only with custom rom (Carbon and NeoWave). How can I fix this?
OmniRom doesn't support some Quick Settings that are included in other roms.
I suggest installing the app "Safe Charge" from Play Store to get rid of the freeze issues.
You can "swipe" a lot of tiles in the quicksettings, to show a secondary function.
The volume buttin changes to sound settings, the WiFi button to tethering, the network data button to data connection, the battery percentage to battery status etc.
All settings are there

I tried Safe Charge but it seems the issue still persist. Btw love your rom so much, only some minor problem with ART but overall it's great :good::good::good:
One more question, in other roms some Quick Settings titles have their own setting. For example I can remove Silent and Ringer only mode in Sound title, only Vibrate and Sound+Vibrate left. So does NeoWave rom has this option as well?
I haven't quite figured that out.
When you deblock the buttons so that you can move them, some of them can be changed size and transparency when clicked. I imagine that has something to do with it, but i did not experiment.
Already installed Safe Charge and SOD has even been more frequently. I missed my morning alarms because of that. I never experienced that on any stock-based rom. Is it kernel related?
It's strange, as only a few people have SoDs. I personally don't.
So sad. I had sudden shutdown problem with stock rom before, then I changed to Carbon then your rom and that problem has gone, but now SoD.
I think Quick Settings lacks customizations compared to other rom. As far as I know, this is rom-integrated, so GravityBox (and other Xposed modules, too) won't work. It means only you can make some modifications to this, right?
It requires quite a lot of modding to add quick settings.
I dont have a lot of time for developing in the next months. Sorry.
@WhiteNeo Don't feel sorry bro, you've already work really hard to bring us this wonderful rom :good::good::good: And beside that, it seems I'm the only one request this feature, and maybe other guys prefer Omni-style Quick Settings, so it would be great if you could provide a flashable zip for this modification, of course only if you have time Good luck with your studying
Hello I have lots of questions
1) is there a way to make active display or tap to wake up phone?
2) on my previous phone if I clicked on the volume key button the phone would turn on?- can I do it on here?
3) there are many more apps like contextual services and lots of other Motorola apps. Which are safe to disable?
4) is there a way to block OTA updates?
5) when you swipe down using two fingers you get the notification pull menus. But when I click the wifi button it opens the settings app and goes to wifi. Can't I edit it so it goes DIRECTLYY to. Toggle wifi?
6) pin on lock screen - on my old phones when I input my pin it unlockes. This is so stupid and takes more longer after inputtingmy pin. I then have to click enter? How do I automate that
1) You can use AcDisplay. You can't tap to wake the phone, a custom kernel would be required for that.
2) Not by default.
3) I leave Assist, Alert, Audio effects, Help and Migrate disabled. I don't know about the rest, but those are safe.
4) Just don't install them. I don't know if you can disable the alerts though.
5) Hold the wifi button . Works with other settings as well, try it out.
6) Well, you could try using an app that replaces your lockscreen which has this feature, such as the Home Screen Lock of Smart App Lock. By default you can't though.
Hope I helped.

I assume you are using Lollipop. The wifi-icon and the SSID are two seperate buttons. Tapping the icon switches wifi on/off. Tap on the SSID and it will take you to settings
I've found that long-pressing the wifi button will toggle it on and off.

With an app called Kernel Adiutor. On my rooted Nexus 6,
It worked first (and every) time for me, no tweaking required. Presumably all your other root apps are working ok?
may I ask how you enable double tap to wake on Nexus 6 on Nougat? thanks
No special action apart from pressing the "activate" button... It just works, normally 95% of the time, since I occasionally have to double-tap a couple of times.
got my Nexus 6 double tap to wake working with Kernel Adiutor (ROOT), is it a heavy app just for the double tap to wake?
any recommended app just for double tap to wake? that and notification led which I use lightflow (any better app for the job?)
they are the main reason I root my Nexus 6,
If you're rooted you shouldn't need Kernel Adiutor for Double Tap - mine works fine and I have no such kernel control apps. As I said, it's not 100%, and I read a long time ago that this is the reason that Google put the ability in the ROM but didn't activate it - they didn't want to frustrate users with what looked like a buggy app. Still, Sean's app works well enough for me, and it means that I'm relieving stress on the power button - Double Tap to wake, and Nova's swipe gesture to sleep, so I rarely need to touch the power button at all. Given the number of people complaining that their power button has stopped working, I reckon the less I use it the longer my N6 will last (touch wood... )
I use elemental kernel and it has an option for double tap to wake on install.
thanks for all comments.
looks like kernel adiutor consume much battery too,
any recommend alternative app for the job? hope there is an app for both double tap to wake and notification led (is lightflow the only choice? looks heavy too on batt)
tia
btw I use chainfire way to root, and has no plan to install custom recovery and custom kernel, prefer all stock, thanks
I bought Light Flow a year or so ago and it seemed to be a battery hog, so I uninstalled it. But given that I'd paid for it, just out of curiosity I tried it again a few months ago and it consumes very little. I put it down to advances in the programming, and I'm still using it happily today. As far as I know Light Flow on a rooted device is the only way to get the LED to activate as a notification.

will elementalx kernel saves battery?
seems like the kernel adiutor eat battery, it is the first item that drain battery after full charge? should I use other util to get the double tap to wake? that only what I need and beside not fond tweaking,
pls recommend, thanks
I get great battery life with elementalx and it also has option to activate led

Got the S pen but only use it for taking notes maybe once a day if that. Is it possible to toggle it on/off in the quick panel? I'd like the digitizer to be off to save battery. I guess the real question is - is there any way to add custom buttons to the quick panel that can toggle system settings? Does Good Lock do that?

AFAIK not available in stock rom.
You must root and "manipulate" system toggles or install a custom rom with this feature.
I read about options to change the action of the s pen button tap:

And here is a thread about this missing "disable s pen" button:
Disable button on stylus
I forget the name of the button on the stylus that launches the wheel thingy, but it would be great it it could be disable completely. I use Lecturenotes and it's great that I can disable the wheel pop up, but I can't disable the button...

Unfortunately there isn't an option.
