[Q] SWYPE PROBLEM "Old version of the installer"

Hi,
I have tried to install swypebeta onto my SGS I9000 with both CM7 and MIUI ROM.
Whenever I try to run the swype installer (ver. 1.1.20186(12.01) I get the following error message
Swype Installation Failed
You have an old version of
the installer. Please upgrade
I've tried to remove all items from my downloads folder, as well as reboots. These have seemed to fix the problem for other people but not my own.
Does anybody know of a solution?
UPDATE: I am now trying the Swype beta v3 and still receive the same issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS!

[Q] problems flashing cm10 rom few times already

Hi there ppl.
Im new around here and kind of a noob with android, last weekend i finally got my phone rooted, and i kicked the old froyo out, i manage to flash Marvel V9 rom, but i want a multi language rom, so i tried to flash the cm10 rom from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1875570.
i did cache and dalvik wipe and factory reset, i didnt find a system wipe, so i continued the installation, but few sec later i got error msg:
assert failed: getprop ("ro.product.device") == "p970" | | getprop ("ro.build.product") == "p970"
E: Error in /sdcard/cm-.....(the name of the rom file.)
status (7)
installation aborted.
so far i tried another 2 roms from cm download page. i get the same error exactly.
i know my phone is p970h, so maybe this is the problem? or should i triy to download an earlier version of CM and then try to install the newer one ??
if the problem is the phone which is model p970h, then how come marvel v9 run and installs smoothly
thank for your help

you should be able to flash any rom. Are you flashing them from recovery? delete any spaces or odd characters from the file and try again, also try downloading again, i would recomend flashing via ROM manager so you're 100% sure you get all the wipes, someone may tell you the issue is that your OB is a p970h and not a p970 but that's not true

Thanks a lot for your answer , i'll try downloading those files again, maybe i need to disable my antivirus/firewall.
by odd characters or spaces, i'm not so sure i do know what is suppose to be odd or not, because im kind of noob with that stuff, plus i tried 3 different roms. with all three i got the same error msg. here are the names of those file, can you tell me if they are ok, maybe you see something odd or not ??
1. cm-7.2.0-p970
2. cm-10.0.0-p970
3. cm-10-20121030-UNOFFICIAL-p970
the first and second are from CM download page, the third file is made by XDA member and posted on OB forum.
ill install rom manager later on tonight and ill see what goes on.

If you cant install them still, please go to ROM Manager, scroll down and install a 5.x.x.x version of CWM. Best would be a non touch version.
Then it'll work fine again

Yes, it's a problem with the touch recovery, flash normal version

Thanks for your answer guys. I did install rom manager and then install the cm rom within the manager menu. It worked perfectly.
The problem is im sorry to say that some minor bugs related to the timezone and sim card made me reinstall the marvel rom i had.
I loved what the guys here did with the cm rom installed the CM10 from CM dl page, and also the version done by Bpaul that i dl from developers page here in XDA, i had same bugs in both versions relating to the timezone and recognizing my cell provider (orange). plus it didnt read my sim card properly, saying i have no contacts on my sim, and didnt recognize my own number. the hebrew support was good, few issues with the translation of few things but not enough to be annoying, the CM10 from cyanogen page mad my phone go nuts when i tried to make dial out a call, it got stuck vibrating like crazy for 30 secs or so.
finally after a long day or messing around, i decided to try the CICI rom from developer page here. and i had the problem with the timezone and sim like before. plus it didnt support all languages.
so i'd like to say the those version of CM i guess they dont run smooth with every p970, but they are nice. the cici rom was a bummer for me but its nice looking rom.
i guess im looking for a stable rom that will support hebrew if not in menus , at the least that will support the right alignment when typing hebrew letters in SMS or something similar. quote - "but i still haven't found what i'm looking for"
for now im back to marvel v9 rom untill which runs great on my phone except the hebrew issue.
i seen the lg firmware page, and i know of a guy that was using the german version v20c or b or im not sure, do you guys know if its multi language rom ? i think its a GB rom but dont know about language support.
thanks for listening to all of this btw you have any suggestions for good multi-language roms that will work in Israel??

China Stable to Dev impossible: Unfortunately Updater has stopped (still locked devic

Hi,
today I got my MI5 (32GB-Version) from UUonline with the chin./engl. ROM (MIUI 7.2.6.0 (MAACNDB) | Stable). My device is already locked (request for unlocking I have done but stilll dont have permission). This installed ROM is horrible! Without Playstore (OK, I knew), many chinese Apps, lots of chinese notifications, WLAN "without" connection, ... and last but not least: chinese keyboard which I cant chenge (dont speak chinese .
I tried to install the chin. DEV with the Updater. But I got the following error: "Unfortunately, Updater has stopped". I downloaded all the availlable ROMs from MIUI (stable/dev/global/chinese // 6.8.12 / 6.8.18 / 7.5.2.0 / 8.0.3.0) - but everytime the same error.
So I tried to do it with this MI PCSuite" (latest Version). It takes some time and at the end I get the message, that I first have to update my device before I can use this piece of s(oftware). What a great idea!!! Therefor I try to use this "joke".
At the end I tried to use MI Flash with FB. But, as expected, it quits with the error "device locked".
If anybody has an idea/hint on how to get rid of this f*** ROM that I can atleast use this phone in engish (later I want to install german / sMIUI after having unlocked), I really would be very happy. It drives me crazy and I tried now hours and hours.
Anybody here who has the same problem or better: solved this problem or knows how to solve this problem?
Thanks so much ...
Walhalla

How to downgrade from MIUI 12.5 beta to MIUI 12

Hi,
I had the crazy idea of installing the MIUI 12.5 beta.
Since I had so many problems with Whatsapp, with Viber and also with Signal, I tried in vain to use MIFlash with "fw_raphael_miui_RAPHAELGlobal_V12.0.4.0.QFKMIXM_09 65bd52b6_10.0," error: Missmatching image and device, and then I thought about doing the factory data reset hoping to find myself restarting with MIUI 12.
Upon restart, unfortunately, the mobile phone is repaired with MIUI 12.5 and with the possibility to choose between English and Chinese, after the installation the Play Store icon is also missing!
I ask you how to solve this problem.
Thanks for your help.
