Re-enable fingerprint lock? - Tasker Tips & Tricks

Hi,
I'm trying to make a task that opens an app when an NFC tag is read. Basically when I play piano I have a phone stand on the piano and I use an app called guitar tabs to bring up chords for songs that I don't know overly well. So I stuck an NFC tag on the back of the stand so when I place my phone on the stand it'll automatically unlock my phone and launches the app. So far works great I'm using wanam xposed to allow NFC tags to be read even with screen off, phone unlocks itself and launches the app.
However I have fingerprint lock enabled with smart lock too which is set up with my Gear S2 as a trusted device. While I can get it to unlock fine using secure settings > pass/pin lock thing set to disable (just seems to bypass the lock screen this way) I can't get it to re-able the fingerprint lock. It just leaves it as swipe lock. While I'm running a note 4 with a note 5 rom on 5.1.1 the secure settings > custom rom > Samsung fingerprint lock doesn't seem to have an effect on the setting. Is there anyway I can automatically enable the finger print lock again?

[Q] Lockscreen security toggle?

I'd like to turn the lockscreen security off in areas where I feel secure doing so. When i'm out taking public transportation or any other areas with any risk, i'd like the ability to easily turn security on.
Right now i'm using Xposed Framework with GravityBox 2.6.1. I'd prefer there to be a quick settings toggle that enabled/disabled the lockscreen security but didn't see that option in GravityBox (would request it in the thread for it but it looks like I can't until I post more here?).
Does anyone else have a setup similar to what i'm trying to achieve?
"No Lock Screen" app doesn't seem to work. Currently using "Toggle Lock" which does work as a widget but the size of it is so small at 1x1 (have to resize to enlarge but ends up taking too much space). Also the problem with toggle lock is if you close the Toggle Lock app in the multi-tasking in seems to break this setup.
EDIT: Toggle Lock has issues too after awhile it still asks for unlock randomly when launching apps/notifications
I used Tasker combined with Secure Settings (both on play store) to achieve something similar. When I'm connected to my home wifi, my password is disabled. When I'm connected to no wifi or any other wifi, my password is enabled.
I know this isn't the same as having a single press to toggle the password on and off, but since you can create a tasker task to do this, I imagine it can't be that hard to use Tasker App Factory to make an app that toggles the password on and off. Then just put that app on your home screen and you should be good to go.
Thanks! I'll look into that. The toggle lock app seems to have problems.

Thanks! I tried and it seemed to work great at first (no issues with closing the app by mistake). Then i noticed later on how the phone would be unlocked yet accessing text messages from the notification bar would request the password.
What I ended up doing was setting a shortcut for Nova launcher 'Activities' > 'Settings' > 'Unlock selection' ChooseLockGeneric. This allows me to get to that settings page quickly and directly but I have to manually set up the password each time. Works though!

[Q] Is it possible to switch lockscreen types with just an NFC chip?

I really prefer using the finger print scanner for my lock screen at work. The phone has a tendency of turning on in my pocket and doing stuff while in there. When I'm at home or out and about it's less of a worry. So can I switch it from finger print mode to a swipe unlock with just an NFC tag? If I have to swipe my finger after tapping the NFC tag to switch fingerprint mode off is fine.
You might check out gravity screen in the play store. It keeps the phone off in your pocket very reliably.
I think there was an xposed module that allowed you to change the lock screen. May be able to work something up where it changes depending on if you are at home or work. Sorry probably not the most helpful post.....

Can't find smart lock

I have found many threads and discussions that show how to set up/activate smart lock, but I can't find it ANYwhere. It is not there. I have not yet set up fingerprint unlock as I want to know I can have smart lock option, and the fingerprint scanner on my Note 4 was so awful, I'm a little hesitant. Has anyone had this problem? I just updated software through Verizon today so now Samsung Pay is available, and wanted to use fingerprint with smart lock for security. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I just use the Search option and found. It's listed under Lock Screen and Security--- Secure Lock Settings
I'm on the international variant, but it should be on all Notes. Hope this helps.
Nope. Not there. But thanks.
It's exactly where LGmarly said it was. Which version of the phone do you have?
It will be there. I thought I did not have it either until I setup fingerprints. I use swipe pattern now & it's still there. If you have your lock screen set to swipe or nothing the Secure Lock Settings will not appear.

Thanks! That's what I was suspecting - not there until secure lock is set up. I searched high and low through all settings, sub-settings, etc. Will set up fingerprint today and expect to see it. Thanks for the replies.

Is there a way to toggle a secure lock screen?

Benzo Rom for the Nexus 6 running 5.1.1 Lollipop allows the ability to toggle a secure lock screen from the quick settings in the notification drawer. For example, from the launcher, I can pull down the notification drawer to access the quick settings panel and tap the lock screen option and it will automatically engage the lock screen even if there was a password/pattern/gesture/pin, etc. previously setup. If I tap it again, it will remove the secure lock screen.
My concern is that this feature was built into the custom ROM itself and I don't know an alternate solution to this. Is there any solution to achieve this?

I think starting in MM (6.0), Google locked down this feature in favor of the smart lock function. You can set a trusted place, trusted device (bluetooth or NFC), trusted face or unlock until it detects it's been set down (on body). More information
I think, because the intents/secure action has been removed, it's not going to be something offered as a quick tile. I'm not aware of a work around.
That said, it's possible a ROM like lineage might offer this type of functionality.

I am currently running Pure Nexus Android 7.1.2 and have done some extensive digging to realize that a lot of keyguard and lockscreen solutions for Nougat and Marshmallow aren't working at all.
Taskers keyguard toggle option as well as Secure Settings keyguard toggle and lock screen features are broken and not working.
Secure settings is pretty old and outdated as it's been well over 2 years since it's been updated. The only options left are Taskers AutoInput looks really painful and the only other option is SecureTasks. The thing with SecureTasks is that it's relatively new and hasn't been tested long term and the method to gain device ownership looks really sketchy.

Disabling lock screen disables fingerprint security.

I'm not a big fan of the EMUI lock screen player controls for Spotify (and a few other apps). They aren't formatted correctly and look bad.
I've tried replacing the lock screen with several different 3rd party ones to take advantage of their music controls.
If you don't disable the EMUI lock screen (in developer options), then it interferes with the replacement screen.
Disabling the original lock screen also disables the fingerprint (and face unlock) security features of the phone FOR ALL PURPOSES.
Trying to reactivate the fingerprint security or register a fingerprint actually just reactivates the EMUI lock screen and your back to square one.
I can sacrifice face ulnock, but losing fingerprint unlock entirely is quite annoying.
Does anyone know of a workaround for this?
