It's nice that they offer unlimited for 65 a month after the autopay credit, but it sucks that they have a 8 Mpbs download cap

Service is 100% subjective to the area you are in. Your options for unlimited aren't too plentiful anymore. I won't bother mentioning "unlimited" plans that throttle you hard after your data cap like Straight Talk. For example Sprint is probably generally regarded as the weakest of the big 4 carriers, but for my area it works great and I rarely lose LTE. In very rural areas I at least have 3G fallback, but I never actually drop signal for where I personally travel. Everyone is different.
Sprint: $75 for new plan pricing unlimited data, $45 if you can get in on a Framily plan (new lines only, check http://reddit.com/r/SprintFramily for codes)
ATT: $100 on ATT (you need DirectTV) but on Cricket (throttled to 8mpbs down I believe) unlimited data is only $65 after auto pay using ATT's network
Verizon: lol go look at ebay for transfer of liability on grandfathered plans... no thanks on that initial cost and then the monthly
Tmobile: you don't like them so no point in mentioning them or the MVNOs they run on

TMO sucked for me in Chicago and the burbs, got rid of it went back to my unlimited verizon account

Yes, all their plans have a speed cap

Straight Talk with an AT&T sim card
You get 10 gigs of LTE data through AT&T towers, no speed cap, talk and text.
All for $55/Month or $50/Month with auto-billing.
It's a very great deal considering the amount of data you're getting through AT&T. I just recently switched from MetroPCS.

AT&T: want LTE phone? Give up your unlimited data!

I went to my local corporate store to upgrade to a white Vivid and was told that in order to do so I will have to give up my unlimited data plan and be switched to LTE plan. The kicker is that LTE is not even available here and will not be in the near future. Needless to say I said no thanks and walked away. Has anyone else ran into a similar issue and is there a way around it?

Not factual, or did not ask.
I got my White Vivid off contract so I had to call AT&T to switch my data plan. After about a 15 min. call I was able to keep my unlimited data plan. Some CSR's can't do it so you have to speak to/get permission from their supervisor.
Edit:
Although technically the unlimited data plan isn't unlimited. They give you a 10238976 MB (9,999 GB) limit. I don't know when they start throttling though.

I got unlimited 4G LTE. Unfortunately many att store reps can't do it, they'll have to call 611 also, that's how he did it for me to keep my unlimited, he couldn't do it in the store through their system for some reason.

This makes no sense. Why would they lie???
@slimslim. that's what the store rep told me, that the system is not allowing him to retain my current data plan. I am going to call 611 later tonight and will try to order over the phone.

LOL i was just kidding with you.
I would call AT&T they did the switch for me in the store no problem.
I live in Cabot, AR it is by Little Rock, AR if that helps you out.
I did the iPhone 2g loophole without any issues so I'd try another rep. When I went from the iPhone back to the Vivid my data wouldn't work and I called in and they wouldn't switch it. Went to the store and they did it in a couple minutes.

Go Smart Mobile (T-Mobile $45 Prepaid Plan)

T-Mobile is launching a new sub brand, which offers $45/mo prepaid with unlimited voice, text, and 5GB "high-speed" data. It might be a interesting option for people who need more minutes than T-Mobile's $30 Monthly4G 100min plan, but don't want to use Straight Talk.
https://www.gosmartmobile.com/
When would they be available? I called there customer service and they are not active yet. They said micro sim phone might not get all the features like regular sim phone. I have nexus 4 which is micro sim hmmmm
I am interested cause its unlimited talk text and 5gb of hspa+42 data for 45. I am using straight talk right now.

They are only doing a test launch in a few certain cities for now from what I hear.

I just read the fine print at the bottom of the page you linked to, and they consider 'high speed' web to be 3g. The $45/month plan is 5gb of 3G, then its goes to 2G
Was going to post this, glad I did a search!
If we can figure out what the microSIM issues are, if any.. I might move from the $30 plan to this, at least for my girlfriend.. VoIP's working but this is still cheap enough to be rid of all the headaches.
It seems like ordering a kit isn't restricted to any markets at the moment.. not sure if I want to be the first to take the plunge
definately sounds like a good deal. if ST AT&T doesnt work out well this month ill be definately switching to this next month. just wondering if it will be 3G UMTS or the full HSPA+
Hmm this is very intriguing. I just recently got on a straight talk plan and have consistently used over 100mb of data in a day and keep getting throttled to ridiculously slow edge speeds.
Does anyone know if they cap the data usage and if so what is considered maximum 3g speeds? Or does it just not use 4g towers? I have no idea how that works haha.
I don't get speeds over 2mbs anyways in my neighborhood with a "4g" service plan. Hopefully its all the same network and I won't notice a difference.

just curious, how many times did you have to go over 100mb in a day to get throttled? and are you on ST AT&T or TMO? im on TMO prepaid right now and theyre pretty straightforward with their data, as in however much you pay for you can use it how ever you want. but im gonna be trying out ST AT&T next week just because TMO reception is a bit spotty around where i live. i use less than 2GB a month and maybe go over 100mb one or two days a month
I'm ordering a SIM card to try out. I'll post to this thread with comparisons to my T-Mobile $30 5GB plan.
While I don't plan on switching from my $30 plan, I have some family members for whom this plan sounds great.
If they allow full speed streaming up to 5gigs, this may be a decent deal over ST.
If it's not HSPA+ full "4g" speeds, it's meh.
I am in if it's hspa+42mbps unlimited call, text and 5 gb data even better than solavei and simple mobile which they throttle after 4gb of data for 49.99.

Not bad for those who need unlimited minutes. I wish T-Mobile's service was a tad bit better for rural areas. I use my phone 5x more when over at family functions or clients away from the city (out of boredom, really) and having to deal with EDGE is a pain in the ass. I'm trying out ST AT&T for the first time and have been pleased thus far. If they throttle me, though, I'm flushing their SIM card down the toilet.

Net10 $85 2 line family plan with N4

I finally decided I am paying way too much for AT&T and made the switch to Net10's "family plan"
The way it works, is if you activate on auto-refill you get $5 off the first phone and $10 for every phone after that up to 4 so for my 2 lines it's only $85 a month. You can have up to 4 for $165.
I bought the BYOP SIM pack at Dollar General for $15. It comes with an AT&T compatible full sim, AT&T compatible micro, and a T-Mobile compatible full. I used the 2 AT&T sims for my N4 and daughter's GNex (saves $15 for another kit) you have to buy 2 $50 PINs up front to activate. The credits will come for subsequent months but I am sure I can call in and demand the $15 credit through customer service.
Speeds have been the same for my area that I was getting with AT&T with no drop off in coverage at all. I did have an issue "porting" my number but my daughters went through immediately.
Anyone that has multiple lines on ST, Simple Mobile, or anywhere else may benefit from this plan and save some extra cash every month.

That's the main issue with all prepaid carriers that offer unlimited. They have a policy but it's not set in stone. Most believe that ST, N10, Tracfone don't actually have the ability to throttle because they don't control the network so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
So net10 works through Tmobile & AT&T? What about APN's.. Does it use the stock ones or its own APN.

5GB on AT&T? Lol..not even close.. Net10 is the same thing as Straight Talk but ST is $5 less per month..not sure what the OP is going on about, probably because I only pay for myself which in that case ST is less expensive..AT&T gets better coverage in buildings due to lower frequency they use than T-Mobile but their data policy is more strict than T-Mobile prepaid and T-Mobiles data is faster.
Think I'll be sticking with T-Mobiles $30/month prepaid plan due to better data and being $20 cheaper than ST is a nice touch.

AT&T also has much better coverage in many areas. Even in dense metropolitan areas like Northern VA and Washington, D.C. I get stronger signal on AT&T, and when going on long car trips, I don't drop down to EDGE or even GPRS, like I did with T-Mobile. It all depends on coverage in your area and your typical usage. I get great in-building coverage on AT&T - often better than Verizon.

New prepaid ATT go phone plans

ATT go phone just started their new prepaid plans which are compatible with our nexus 4.
New plan is unlimited talk, text, and 2gb of data for $60 a month. Plus additional 1gb of data is $10 per gb.
I know this is a little more expensive, but for people like me that live in and "E" data area for t-mobile, I now finally have hspa wherever I go with no spotty coverage.
There was rumor that you can get a postpaid att account with unlimited everything with 5gb of data. The clerks at the store said that since it is byod, there wouldn't be a contract break out fee, which I find hard to believe.
Anyone ever do that?
Would you mind posting your APN settings? I've had the gophone plan for a month and started getting horribly low speeds, changed the APN to get better speeds and lost mms abilities.
Also, I had the older gophone plan and on the 22nd it switched automatically to the new, cheaper, and better, plan.

Lycobile prepaid, they have a 23 dollar unlimited talk text and data plan (100 mb LTE speeds). This is the cheapest plan I could find and they have pretty good service.
