CM13 Dot Case - One (M8) Accessories

Is the Dot Case enabled for CM13? I can't seem to get mine working on then newest release, thanks

Its only available with a Sense Rom, because the Kernel of CM13 doesnt support 'Dot View', only for DoubleTap2Wake or Double2Sleep

Hmm.. I'm currently running the latest nightly of CM 13 and while it is different, it DOES have dotview support.
Although it is a bit buggy and I have to reboot my phone daily because the service seems to crash every night .

No, I tried looking for a how to or something on it, I might try some time, I don't know exactly what it entails.
Also nfc...
@superfes
Thanks for releasing unofficially CM12.1. I'm using it since yesterday and its working fine so far. However, I get settings fc sometimes and mostly on bootup.
Another issue is with camera focus on micro shots which makes the device force reboot. It was present in cm12 long ago but it was solved or vanished later. Now seems to be back on CM12.1
Of course without a log, we cannot figure out these issues so I will post it asap here.
Btw; thanks for including d2s feature in the kernel. I have been missing it for long on official CM ROMs.

Tested IR and its working fine, including recording. I'm using latest version of Smart IR Remote - AnyMote.
Best Regards
For some reason I wasn't able to receive calls. They said it rang once then went to voicemail. IR also wasn't working through peel but I never really use it. Other than that OMG the ROM! This is the only CM rom that doesn't have issues with my FFC on official CM it has a weird tint to it with every app

Everything works great other than the camera. Same issue as most here, using the camera most of the time results in a reboot of the phone.
Flashing the 2015-6-22 build right now! I'll update after it's been tested.
update: the camera seems to work fine, and doesn't cause reboots now. But I get random reboots just out of the blue. And that was happening before the update. But issues with the camera seem to be fixed. So that's awesome!
I'm gonna transition from official cm12 nightlies to this build. I am also gonna try the 20150602 cm 12.1 gapps build (located on http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps) since this is a newer version..hope it works. will try to post any issues. If you don't hear from me, assume it is working great! Thanks for this build superfes.
OK loaded fine with newest version gapps, so far so good
I too confirm that force reboot in camera focus is now fixed. Thanks a lot.
However, wake features are no longer available. Looks like you have changed the kernel.
Can we use the kernel from the previous build of yours?

I was trying to fork this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-htc-one/development/kernel-elite-kernels-t2961835
But I messed up a merge, I'm trying to get it back to working, as soon as the merge is stable I'll build it back in.
Until then you can just use the AOSP kernel there.

Ok but that kernel isn't updated from January and is a Android 5.0 kernel. Does it still work well on CM12.1?

Hi
I like this rom so far, but I was hoping to reinstall the Beats sound back. I downloaded the apk, but it says an error when I try to install. The music through the speakers sound rather tinny without it. Has anyone installed Beats or anything similar to improve the sound quality?
Thank you.
So I have been using this rom since the 25th as a daily driver, I actually have had only 1 random reboot (unlike on the cm12 rom I had previously where it would reboot almost every day) Camera seems to work flawless where some have reported that it reboots but is def fixed.
I am having one major issue where I get no service 90% of my day, and I only get an exclamation point next to my service bars. The only way to *sometimes* get it back is by going into my mobile network settings and toggling the preferred network type back and forth from global/CDMA + LTE/EvDo/EvDo only/CDMA w/o EvDo/GSM only (where GSM only was to force it out of the proper net type and back in so I could toggle it back to CDMA base right after) And sometimes that didnt even work. I would also toggle airplane mode on and off with similar results. It is quite frustrating. Does this have anything to do with the fact that I never updated my stock radio/kernel? Does anybody know a fix to this? GPS also isn't working (and hasn't been for over a year)
Other than that everything else is working great, best CM12+ rom out so far! Please, if anyone knows of a solution to my connection issues please share! Thanks!

Best ROM for Xiaomi MI3

Which is for you the best ROM at this moment? I have just flashed SlimLP with Layers and seems cool! D2TW working!!
Official miui, it has no bugs at all. but i have tried different roms here, maybe the best non official is unofficial omnirom.
i wonder if the dt2w is really working, and its not eating your battery.

I saw some post regarding SOD in latest release , so i didnt tried.
My Daily Driver: AICP v10 20150809 nightly + No SIM bug fix + FM fix.
Except for the unresolved HDR bug everything works fine on this build, no issues at all.
Absolutely smooth and stable. Battery life is very good as well

I completely agree.
SlimBit is lean, stable and fast, my daily driver. So far everything works fine (expect the snapdragon camera in HDR mode, but which does???)
After using a couple of others:
MIUI6 - gorgeous design, stable, but slow, resource hungry and full of features - which I hardly need.
Ivan's AOSP 5.1.1 - fast, lean, functional. no updates and regular call drops.
MinimalOS (Bitti's) - fast, lean, functional. no updates and random reboots.
Latest official cm 12.1 is fast, stable and has amazing battery. Omnirom was my previous daily driver - also superstable. Would use miui7 just for the camera, but I cant stand the notification system...

I'm using unofficial CM by kundancool, the battery life and performance are great.
EOS is the Greatest!
For rom cook I prefer EOS, love the slide navigation.
But I am using miui7 08.28 now. Its quite stable, no lag, good battery. May be this time Xiaomi did listen to us
Sent from my MI 3W using Tapatalk
Mokee or Bitti's Omnirom - rock solid stable and reliable performance. Install the ColorOS camera (search xda forums) and enjoy the awesome camera.
Metallium OS R1, using for last 2 weeks without any issues. Stable, fast, smooth... Very much like Ivan's AOSP. My reliable daily driver. Love the extra number row on the default AOSP keyboard, makes typing so much easier. Only bug is the known HDR bug. One of the few ROMs which doesn't have the bottom touch bug. Exceptional battery life (both standby and SOT are great).

Totally agree.
I used miui v7 for the first time since its release. Before I was using different custom roms based on lollipop for past 6-7 months.
About MIUI 7 16.09.
I must tell you that its the best refined experience I am having since I bought this phone.
No performance lag ( not as fast as lollipop , but still its great.), No heating at all, Best bettery life ever, Best camera, Best sound.
Its not powerful in multitasking as compared to lollipop roms,, but still I couldnt find any problem on my side.
So if you are like me using custom roms for past 6 months,,, I recommend you to just try it..
You will feel good.
which :/ custom rom has good battery life more then miui7???
, as it is KitKat based it sucks isn't that smooth as lollipop xiaomi is cheating on us

How about Miui V7. Did you try?
I want stock like nexus.. miui lags
There were a lot of stable cm and aosp+ builds of KitKat. Download 1 of them and flash a modern kernel for lp or one of them that has KitKat support and it should work just fine. I flashed carbon rom then flashed xcelerate build 65 kernel without any issues booting or functioning. I never used it long enough to confirm random reboot was gone but as that was related to kernel issue the odds are it wasn't going to ever happen

Me too. I don't really like MIUI. Why don't you try Lollipop ROM like Blisspop. It's quite stable, no bugs, no SOD, customizable, you can use as daily ROM. I used Extended Partition, TWRP and TK Gapps.
It is better than MIUI, I think.
lollipop don't have good battery backup
this is not entirely true ... the difference is about 10 or up to 20% in favor of miui (stable) ... the latest china developer MIUI rom also suffers from poor battery life... sacrifice 1h (sot) use of the phone is quite profitable ... in my eyes.
Sot may not see a huge difference but with standby time KitKat blew lp out of the water unless you didn't flash gapps in lp. That's my opinion and experience anyway. Gapps in lollipop is always a huge battery drain I've never been able to fully control even by turning everything off in app ops and etc.

There are any issues with your configuration ?
Only real problem I seen was a slower charge and the back camera didn't work and the front camera quality was crap. If it had a working camera I would honestly still be using carbon KitKat or even pa aosp+ KitKat which didn't have the slow charging issue but didn't look as nice though either.
Sorry my quotes no longer work Tapatalk has to keep screwing up a good thing and turning it into crap

out of all the custom roms i tried, Ivan's aosp kitkat was the most stable and I had no problems with it except the capacitive button light issue which wasn't a major concern for me, for customizations xposed was my way to go. I highly recommend you to try it if stability is your concern ✌
hope this helped you

I wouldn't recommend it because the only good KitKat rom for this phone was Ivan's. Pa wasn't bad but you won't have a camera anymore. I never tested it on Ivan's but I did test it on carbon and WiFi worked fine on it if I remember correctly. The slow charging (which is fixable flashing a boot.img from a rom with faster charging) and not having a working camera kept me from keeping it. I still wouldn't recommending going to KitKat unless you can persuade a Dev to make a fully functional KitKat rom. I seen a couple devs say they would but never followed through and with all the real devs working on marshmallow your not going to see any help there.

On PA with Xcelerate, Wi-Fi didn't work and also there was frequent android.media force closes. Not with other kernels though. Camera of course doesn't work.
I didn't stayed long on the ROM. But I did got a random reboot type once (in PA the phone simply dies and u have to hard reboot). Camera doesn't work of course.
Ivan's ROM is laggy af. The scrolling is laggy everywhere and etc. I don't like the custom kernels as the phone heats (little bit less with Xcelerate). And not quite sure whether the upcoming Xcelerate build will be compatible with MIUI.
Only MIUI is the usable Kitsap ROM quite actually. Would have been cool if Xiaomi upgraded the Android version, which is not gonna happen at all IMO

is anyone on cyanogenmod 14.1

Just wanted to know how stable is has gone
Also please answer if flashing gapps is the same

It has been pretty stable, the only issue I had was tethering but that was fixed with blackbird kernel 2.1
Install gapps just like on any other ROM.

Tethering was only broken on two nightly builds when 7.1.1 was merged. It's been fixed on 'stock' CM-kernel.
I'm on the latest lightly and with the default kernel it's broke for me, even on a clean install. Weird..... Lol

I had it working great today after struggling with the nightly that would crash on install, from a few weeks back. Got newer nightly and flashed, and worked awesome. Then dumbass me, saw the available CM update from the built in updater. Did that and completely borked my phone. Could not read from storage to even go back to a saved backup. Asked for password then rebooted to recovery. Every time, wipes did not fix. Maybe if I lurked on here on a daily basis I would have not made the mistake but it was unhealthy dose of stress from my daily driver. I got it alive again but it is a secret. Now I'm stock and unrooted and my wife said "I told you not to root it, again"...face palm.

My plan is to stick with the last CM 13.0 nightly until OmniROM 7.x hits.
I've been testing it for a while but was not stable and some bugs, so I switched to Nitrogen OS. Much better now.
No need to use another ROM. The last CM-14.1 nightly is stable and usable as daily driver.
We are transitioning our work to LineageOS. If we have everything running you need to flash it once manually....after that ther will be an updater like cmupdater.

I'm just asking if anyone had tried this Vanir rom . See my post as I'm thinking of picking up one of these s4's from ebay .What rom are you running ?
I installed this ROM last night for a few hours. Seemed pretty smooth and stable. Although I had more data time-outs than I typically do with the KK ROMs I generally use, this one definitely didn't give me the serious data connectivity issues I had with Resurrection Remix Nougat ROM. I didn't delve too deeply into checking whether everything is 100% functional, but I don't recall anything not working.

So not bad for first build or was it the 2nd one out ? Can you log it and post at the Vanir community ? They usually resolve issues pretty quickly with a good log of the event . I don't think they even have a jflespr maintainer yet .The do pretty solid blind builds until they get someone . . Maybe some dev interested in this device will step forward hopefully .
