Where can I buy Amazon Fire 7" 5th edition in Canada? Specifically in Toronto. Both online and offline? I searched over and over to no avail. I want to ask a friend of mine to buy it in Canada and bring it for me.

Looks like Amazon did not go the retail route in Canada. Perhaps a regulatory snafu.

I wanted to ask you, especially someone from USA. handtec seems like the best option for Canadian customers at the moment. It's about the same price at the least years prepaid LTE version from Fido.

UK Amazon states that it will be available on the 15th of September subject to change, they probably want to clear their stocks of 1st gen Moto G's before they let the new one go -.-

That is a xt1097. I'm not sure if the bootloader is unlockable and you can still maintain the warranty.
At this point, if I were you I'd spent the extra hundred and go for the Nexus 6 deal. It's a bit more future proof and better hardware.
Do you own one now?
Got mine replaced directly from Motorola, $130 and they sent me a Pure Edition.
