Hi guys, anyone here like to play games? hmm.. anyone playing Wii,psp,ps3,xbox360? maybe we can discuss abit bout the games...

Love them games
I love video games. I play them almost as much as I play with my phone. XBox 360 is my console of choice, got burned too many times by Sony.

got the new Virtua tennis 3 for psp.
its a fantasti game, i would recommend to those who have never played it.
it comes for psp, ps2,ps3,xbox and PC.

agreed! I am a BF veteran... Been playing since 1942 was out... moved on to desert combat , touched on vietnam, then BF2 and 2142. I flip flop playing bf2 and 2142. Ive maxed out my rank on 2142 but bf2 requires a lifetime commitment! lol!

PC includes Guild Wars, CoD2. Wii Sports and SuperSmash Bros. Brawl when it comes out. and of course Madden 08

I used to be a PC gamer, but then I found my new home on the Xbox 360
Currently I'm playing Gears of War and CoD4.

I mainly game at lan parties. i lost a year of my life between my sophomore and junior year in high school playing generals. i regret it.
my favorite game is quake3 hopefully i can get a quake 3 internet server up and running.

Too many years playin but it's only game that plays well on laptop only an Sempron 3400+ 2GB DDR2 nvidia 6100
Desktop takes pretty much anything but just ghosted and image corrupted so back from scratch still tryin to sort some hardware issue out

Looking forward to Splinter Cell: Conviction, just watched the demo on Marketplace, looks fantastic, looks like the series '24'.

Any of Dawn of War players here? I also play Generals ZH and am part of a significant modding community too. Mostly a PC gamer though we have a PS3 and 360 at home too.

PS3 or 360.. What to buy?

I got out of gaming after my first PS died on me years ago. Soooo... I believe its time for me to get a gaming system. Any thoughts on which one people prefer. I have played alot on both systems, its just everyone I talk to is either one system or the other. One is better then this and the other yada yada, I want info that only xda can provide. Like say if I wanted to tinker with it. What do you guys think, which system would be the best for me?

I would go for the PS3, because playing online with your friends is free there. On the xbox360, you have to have a Live Account which costs money to play online...And the PS3 has got the better exclusive Games (Killzone, GoW and so on ) and it can play BluRay's...

I agree, PS3 is the way to go. I have both but my 360 just sits there collecting dust.
And with the recent release of Gran Turismo 5, PS3 has been getting consistent use. Lol.
Blu-Ray movies are a huge plus as well.

Also, the game engines show up a lot better.
Yeah, you pay for the online experience, but it's worth it. As a result of your payment, they invest a lot more in the online experience and content.
Plus, what games does PS3 have going for it? GT5 is about it, and even then, the Forza series competes nicely.
I personally won't bother with a PS3 until they fix the controllers and Sony isn't such a douchebag company.

Hmm..Still,PS3 for me!!!

I have Forza 3 and Gran Turismo 5 and GT5 crushes Forza.
PS3 games that are worth it for me would be:
Uncharted 1 & 2
Infamous
Killzone 2 and 3 is coming soon
Resistance 2 and 3 is coming soon too
I also prefer the PS3 controllers, they feel more comfortable in the hand during long periods of playing time.

Definitely PS3! especially if you're into racing games, GT5 is hands down the BEST racing game I have ever played.

I can't tell what you're arguing?
Kinect is the first mainstream attempt at controller-less gaming. That deserves 400% credit. In the same realm, PS3 is a hi-def Wii (Wii sucks).

Xbox if you are an online gamer you get what you pay for on Xbox and if you want a bluray player that plays games build a pc lol

Yeah... missed the GT days... I was playing Gt1 and GT2, but stopped after moving out of my hometown for university... since then it was PC all the way...

I used to be pc gamer but due to my marriage 2 years and the responsibility that came with it I suffer from a constant lack of funds. Therefore I downgraded to a nintendo wii What I miss most on consoles are tactic shooters like Ghost Recon. They simply do not exist on consoles. Yeah there are Ghost Recon games on consoles but the gameplay is completely different.

I was for a while... i got really into rts' more specifically the total war series. Rome total war is still my favourite game of all time.

Yeah... I lost my calluses after I started working...all my guitars and my bass weren't touched for years... it broke my heart when I saw the strings rust... I just had to change them... so sad...

Hmm.. my history of gaming goes something like this:
Pong -> Atari 2600 -> Intellivision -> (Quarter Arcade Games) -> Sega Genesis -> Nintendo -> Super Nintendo -> Dreamcast -> N64 -> then off to PC Games
Quake -> Quake II - Unreal Tournament -> Half Life -> Counter Strike -> Team Fortress -> UT 2002/03/04 -> Battlefield 1942 -> DC Mod -> Battlefield 2 -> Ultima Online -> Wow
Used to LAN and was able to get all sorts of free gear etc.
Nowdays.. playing on the PS3 casually - just started playing Black Ops - and oooooo boy do I suck at it Dunno wth happened went from MW2 to BO and its like I might as well be playing with Oven Mitts

Yea, a big time gamer from WAAAy back (I even have 5 classic full size arcade games incuding a Ms. Pac and a Star Wars cockpit).
Got em' all PC, PS3, 360, Wii, DS, PSP, and a bunch of other older and cool systems.
I prefer my games on a PC when I can, Just went through Black Ops about 2 weeks ago. Got a Kinect for Xmas, so have been screwing around with that, but, before that, was playing Super Mario Galxay 2, Epic Mickey, Read Dead and a few others.
I'm in the middle of about 4-5 games right now (not finished yet). My wife does not care for gaming and sometimes gives me a hard time but, she understands it. My 2 year old is just too little to grab a controler but, I figure by 3 and 1/2 I'll have someone to play with besides on-line.
Any shooter GTA, COD, or any game of the type, I will only play on the PC, I even waited the 7 months for GTA 4 just to get the PC version.
I have a Core2Quad @ 3ghz(Q9650), 4gb, GTX460 1gb card running Win7...runs almost everything at max that I dump at it.

i forgot to metion Deus Ex and Deus Ex invisible war, anybody played this series? its an unforgetable game, i feel like playing it sometimes these days

Can someone suggest some good online/lan multiplayer/coop Games i can play with my friends or even my girlfriend (long-distance relationship)?
Genre: Shooter, Strategie, ..well anything except something like minecraft (building-stuff)

Basically all the free to play games on steam are multiplayer
Team Fortress 2, Spiral Nights, Rusty Hearts, CrimeCraft: Bleedout, War Inc. Battlezone, Forsaken World,
That is just some of the games from the free to play page that said they were multiplayer. There a lot of games that are free to play that don't list themselves there for their own reasons (NASA: Moonbase Alpha)
Now there are the non-free steam games,
Borderlands, Portal 2, Rage, The Call of Duty lineup, Counter-Stike, Half-life 2: Deathmatch,
Again the list goes on forever.
Then there are non-steam games like League of Legends (free) and its ok, some really like it, not my cup of tea.
Of course the majority of these games require fast internet (20+ mb download and 15+ mb upload on both sides) and a ethernet port fast enough to keep up (no laptops) or wireless n wifi (this can be done by most routers, but only good ones actually transmit data at wireless n level speed, so ethernet is better if you don't have a laptop)
And on top of fast internet, you need a excellent computer to play most of these. If you don't have a AMD Radeon HD 5200 (I have 5400, like 60+ fps on TF2) or better (nvidia equivilent if that floats your boat, I got a AMD cause it was on sale) and a pentium 4 at 3.40 ghz (again, AMD processor if that floats your boat) or better, then on games like TF2, you'll play fine most of the time on offline (vs. bots) mode, but on online you will LAG, a lot.
Just as a rule of thumb, if your using a vga graphics card, most likely, you can't play these games. And if you run dxdiag (using run command in xp, or run bar in vista and 7), you can find your graphics card. If it says something like "Intel Express Family Chipset" then you can't play these games. Or if by some miracle you can (like I could before I upgraded my graphics card) it will get >5 fps and look horrible.
Bottom line, before thinking of the games, check your computer stats at both ends, if you both don't have good stats, your options go to playing leaderboard flash games and trying to beat each others score (really fun ), or buying a console and playing your games on that.

Another recommendation for Portal 2!

Ram is certainly enough, but try running the dxdiag command, checking the video tab for your graphics card.

i play AvP 3, and even though the gameplay is bad, the multiplayer is good. being the last human standing against aliens are the best!!!
I'd still recommend Age of Empires II for RTS...

I say a notebook with a middle class GPU because that will enable you to play games like Call of duty modern warfare 3 easy and enjoy nice graphic's and the games are cheaper.

I fixed my ps3! Well it took two tubes of Arctic silver, a 19 blade fan and a hairdryer and two broken screwdrivers. Easy!

For me, I got the xbox because most of my friends have one. Both the consoles are very similar in graphics and everything so you should buy the console that the majority of your friends have. If your not looking for a console for the social part of it, then you should get a ps3 because you don't have to pay to play online.

It comes down to if you like first person shooter or adventure orientated games

Depends what you want it for. If it's just for games then the xbox 360 is cheaper so you can get some games with it when you get it. If you want it for more than games then the PS3 is better, especially if you want to watch bluray films.
There's not much between them. The exclusive PS3 releases do look better than the exclusive xbox 360 releases, but it's got better hardware so they should.
If you can afford it, I'd say get both with the view of selling one of them a couple of months later. Have a play and see which you prefer.
Incidentally, if you have a particular liking for getting trash-talked and teabagged by little kids then definitely get the xbox 360.

On thing you need keep in mind with Xbox360 if you want play online you need to pay for Xbox live as far as I know this is not the case with pc and ps3.

i had played god of war on my friend's ps3 it was way back in 2011. it was amazing ...i was like wow..
played ninja gaiden on xbox 360 and it impressed me too. !!

got dell xps 15 with intel i7 processor with Nvidia's Graphic card ( 2gb vram, 8gb ram ) already ...i prefer laptops or PCs ( desktops ) for games like COD, Battlefield, warcraft of warrior, Dota, Ragnarok...basically online games

I'd say PS3. Although I am biased, as I do have one myself.

I got similar specs, also an i7 ( 2670QM ) Nvidia Geforce GT 540M 1GB, 8GB ram, 128GB SSD.
But mine is an Asus K53SV-SX838V I had an Dell ( Studio 1558 ) before but for me no Dell any more I think the build quality is not good and mine Dell broke after 1 year and 11 months.

Both consoles are good for me. I would say ps3 has better exclusives but owning both they both rock.

I like 360 more. , I like the exclusives more, controls are way better in my opinion (not that Dualshock is bad, but I like to shoot and accelerate with a trigger, not with a button).
But in the end is up to you.

Same here. 24 of my friends have XBOX and only 2 have PS3.
And, even better. You can check who has an Xbox live account by signing into FB on your XBOX.
But go with what your friends have.
On XBOX, its mostly 13+ ages groups as younger kids don't like to pay for Live
