First of all I hope this is in the write section. Anyway I unlocked my bootloader and flashed a custom ported MIUI 7 ROM, but it doesn't have root? Isn't it the norm for custom ROMs to be pre rooted? If not, then how do I go about rooting it? Thank you and apologies for noob question, haven't been in Android game in a long time.
In the security center app, you will see root permission.
move it to general or Q&A !!

Didn't notice that, thank you! However when I toggle a particular app, say root explorer, security crashes? How can I fix this??
As per title since I upgraded my SM-N920C every single alarm reminder app I have tried so far is not 'waking up' and sounding when a Google Calendar reminder is due.
The device is not rooted, deep sleep is OK and I remember I had that issue a couple of times with Lollipop (it got self fixed without doing anything...).
Please help. [emoji20]

Hi ,
Firstly ,i am still on Lollipop ,Android v5.1.1
When i had similar issues quite some time back ,i went to stock Smart Manager ..and turn that paticular app off (.from optimization .)
I believe Marshmallow has something similar..Doze or still Smart manager . or granting of Permissions ,( when installing an app .)
Also most probably you did not you grant app permission " Always run " or something like that .?
Logic tells me , app is not waking up , its been kept in a sleep mode ?
Just remember ,
i am not on Marshmallow,so i cannot say/check ,( for sure .?)
Good luck
Thanks for your support, but I have disabled Smart Manager app optimisation already and I got no permission request while running those calendar apps.

Go to Battery > Battery Usage and hit the 'More' button. There select 'Optimise battery usage' and disable any app you want a notification from. It's probably Doze that is keeping your apps from waking up.
Unless you have some other task killer running and killing them...
Thanks however I can't go into that section right now as it force closes (issue probably related to Debloater).
I will try that as soon as I sort that other issue!
Guess you disabled the Smart Manager app (it was in your previous post, but i thought you just disabled the 'app power saving')? Enabling that again should do it.
No the fact is that I disabled some packages (mainly KNOX stuff and others) by using Debloater when I was running Lollipop.
Now that I am running Marshmallow no matter how many times I try to re enable them they still remain disabled...
About Smart Manager I didn't disable the package, I just switched it off.

hi ,
I had a similar issue on my old rooted Note 4 ,
disabled apps in stock Apps manager ( instead of freezing apps with my Titanium app )
After flashing another updated Rom ,the relevant apps were still disable .!!
As far as i can remember , i had to do a full factory reset and flash Rom again .
(Factory reset alone did not help and doing a dirty flash also did not help )
Very frustrating issue .
good luck

Yeah I did a complete wipe and factory reset too (I actually had to otherwise every single app kept crashing under Marshmallow), but I won't use custom ROMs because I want to keep the device unrooted (using payment systems and others).
I strongly hope to solve that issue 'cause I am not known for having a good memory. :shy:
OK I *might* have found out that the cause is that under Marshmallow you HAVE to enable notifications in the stock calendar app otherwise third-party ones won't work properly!
The funny thing is that it's working great and you don't get double notifications (stock+third-party apps) at all.[emoji38]

Hey I am on Cyaonogen OS 12.1 & there is no App or anything Inbuilt that can lock with fingerprint.
Also other thing is If we download any App which supports fingerprint Lock it says that fingerprint has been missing or disabled by the manufacturer.
same issue here. Also no apps claiming fingerprint lock supportdoesnt seems to work

Im confused about the rooting part too. Some say it won't void the warranty. Also, rooting guides say that it will void warranty blablabla. Besides Cyanogen is already the default OS, I assumed, in some level, it's sort of not the default thing. But anyway, I rooted my phone because Im a nerd like that for this purpose!
I wanted to fingerprint lock my apps and the apps that can do this wont support the device unless it's running on Android Marshmallow and as you know the default is Android Lollipop.
I tried so many apps to do this when I was on default cyangen lollipop but to no avail. Now I flashed Cyanogen Nightlies 13 based on Marshmallow and it's working PERFECTLY now! Only thing I want now is fingerprint lock my folders but no apps can do that for now, just a bunch of vaults stuff which isn't what I want.
Anyway, if you want fingerprint locker apps for your zuk z1 you have to wait for the Official Cyanogen Marshmallow update or flash one of the Marshmallow based ROMS available (Nightlies, Nuclea, etc).
Hi. As you can see I installed new version of system UI on my S5 mini running 6.0.1 and notification panel changed. Everything works except this:
When I wanna unlock device fingerprint sensor in not working at all and I must unlock by password or pin.
Do you know a way to solve this problem?

Greetings, that error is normal since our sensor is no longer compatible with the new layers of touchwiz, this is included in its system ui

Hi There
Since Today i have an Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Duos SM-N960F (German DBT)
The Big Problem is that only SIM Card Slot 1 is affected when using tools like 4g Switcher or just in the Phone Info Tool.
In the Samsung Network Settings even when Sim Card Slot 1 is disabled you can not change to 4g only on SIM2 .
Yes i can switch my Sim Cards but i need them both with possibility of 4g Only in some cases.
I have no Root i know this would work with servicemode and bandselection because here you can choose the wanted Sim card and
then use the BAND Selection for LTE bands and so on. But without Root there is no way to Enter the Real Servicemode ( *#0011#)
Any Idea ?

Hey
Absolutely no way the problem is almost no one is interested in that. I was sick of all this and rooted my note 9 and installed the Alexndr dev Rom with latest pie and Magisk 18.1
The problem is that Samsung changed everything in pie and even with root all secret codes on Germany DBT are not working! Nothing. I was trying to find the EFS/carrier file but it's not there for anabling secret codes. That was how it worked with older models like note 7 and 8.
Even rooted and using Apps like Samsung Phone Information or shortcut manager are not working with Samsung and latest Pie. They get Root permission but not launching any Service codes even with root launcher. I contacted developer but no one uses pie and are doing anything.
The only thing that is working now is that I have LTE Only mode directly in the settings for both Sim cards and its working because the Dev Modified his rom. So that's what I needed but I am very disappointed that I can not enter service mode for changing specific LTE bands.
So if anyone with European N960f is able to use secret codes and real Servicemode with Android 9 please tell me which rom and csc you are.

I don't know if u can change bands but you can make shortcut master to work.
Open the app and favorite the section u want.... Eg: service mode.
Then click repeatedly on the favorite shortcut...
It will ask for root and then it should work

Hi
No even with Root and Android Pie not one Program is Working at the Moment. Even Rooted on my Note 9 with Alex Dev Rom Latest Pie and Magisk 18.1 it's not possible to
use secret codes this is redicules. First time Samsung Phone Infomation and also shortcut manager are not working even when granted root permission and launched via root launcher.
I am also active on other forums and no one has a solution . So i think i am the only one in the World wo want to change LTE Bands on my Note 9 with Pie.
I also contacted the developers of the Apps with no solution so far. Maybe it's locked on my CSC which ist DBT. But this was never a problem with Root.
Samsung must have change sonmething with Android 9 which developers have not updatet yet. At least for the Secret coded. Other things and Programs are working fine with root.
have you tried *#2263#?
What ist the different between Single and Dual version (have different hardware) ? Or only different software ?

Many thanks to you for having mentioned that ROM as it finally provides LTE only for the 2nd SIM slot!
Hence the following "in return":

You can do so under both Oreo and Pie by changing the CSC to "SIN" as the code *#2263# works there directly out of the dialer.
Sry for late reply. Glad I helped you out with that rom.
Now I have an note 10+ and I will not root anymore because to many apps will cause problems nowadays. I am glad that at least for sim1 lte only is easy possible. I am sure that it is also possible for the 2 sim slot on Samsung devices but the needed code for that is still kept a secret.
