I have an Amazon Fire 7" 5th Gen. I just got it this week. It's running Fire OS 5.1.2. I've tried using the super tool to install the Google Play Store and it won't let me login to my account. I even completely rooted the Fire and still couldn't sign in. I did a hard reset and sideloaded the 5.1.2 firmware from scratch and followed this http://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/general/installing-google-framework-playstore-t3216122 and still can't sign in. I've even sideloaded com.android.vending-5.9.12-80391200-minAPI9 and com.google.android.gms-7.0.97_(1791429-070)-7097070-minAPI9 manually and still can't sign in. I've checked both the host file (only has 127.0.0.1 localhost listed) and Iran the adb command giving com.google.android.gms permissions and still I can't login. I'm at a loss of things to try.
The tablet also keeps showing me the notification "An Application requires an update for Google, Requested by Google Play Services" and when I select that notification it takes me to the store and asks me to sign in which I can't do. Is there a newer version of one of the apps that I need to manually download and install?
Appears to be resolved
I appear to have resolved the issue.
I went to rootjunk's site and downloaded the ALL GAPPS package. I installed several of the GApps from that package including the PrebuiltGmsCore.apk. I then went through each Google app again and cleared the data and cache for each. Rebooted, and then I was finally able to add my google account and access the play store.
Not sure exactly why it was so screwy but at least it's working.

I've just managed to root a Kindle Fire 5th gen using Supertool however I'm having the same issue when trying to sign into the Play Store.
I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this stuff. Could you explain how you installed the GApps? I downloaded gapps-5.1-2015-05-23-24.zip from rootjunky but I'm not really sure where to go from there.
Would be a great help!
Thanks.

Scratch that. Managed to install it using Flashfire.
What do u mean using flash fire gaps there all 5.1 cm and below ? whaaat... Can ya step by step ? I've reinstalled this thing n trust so many APS n **** now the kindles had more use than a cardboard box near the soup kitchen. And still have exactly the same as the op
This worked for me. Amazon Fire 5th Gen 5.1.2 rolled back from 5.1.2.1.
Get root.
install flashfire.
download gapps-5.1-2015-05-23-24
flash zip using flashfire
delete data from google play services in manage apps from settings
reboot
login and its good.
note: it used to be the older login screen that was gray and blue and then after flashing it was the newer login screen from what looks like android 5.0?
Thankyou I'll give it a try now. I hope this works lol seems promising but ready to be declined again lol
Thankyou respect and credits you boss!!!

Hey tried this solution. I installed the gapps. Than rebooted the device. When I start Play Store it only gives me a white screen for 1 second. Any solutions?
EDIT: Worked! Thank you so much!

I'm having the same problem but on a kindle fire hd 6 4th generation tablet... how do I fix this??
Related
Hi all,
I've rooted my Kindle Fire 7" HD but I'm unable to install any apps via the Google Play Store. SuperSU has been install successfully & I've also upgraded it to v1.3. Root Checker Basic confirms that I do indeed have root permissions. I followed the tutorials posted by @prokennexusa & the app loads up fine. But when I attempt to install anything, the Play store closes. When I attempt to reopen it, it will close straight away. I have to clear the app's data before I can load it up again.
I had done this previously on a different Kindle & all was fine so it's probably me missing a step. Anyone got any ideas on what that missing step might have been? I'm running v4.1.10 of the Play Store. Is this the latest?
Cheers for any tips you can give me,
Lee
Make sure you're using the right GAPPS for your OS. I recommend flashing Kinology ROM, as it includes GAPPS and SuperSU. It's just stock with extra features, so it works really well.

Reboot your kindle some times GPlay hasn't configed
I know we are still waiting on a potential root update for the 5.1.1 firmware, which is how my black friday fire was shipped, unfortunately. However, I have sideloaded google play and google frameworks successfully (I think) via rootjunky's zip. The problem is, I cannot update google play services (Fire tells me it is out of date) without logging into the Play store, but I cannot log into the play store. Whenever I put in my credentials, I get an error that says "There was a problem communicating with Google Servers, please try again later".
If I cant update the framework through Play, or log into play at all, I'm pretty sunk. I have noticed some people referencing the ability to use the Play store on 5.1.1. so somebody must have gotten in successfully. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix, or get this error and find a solution?

sideload this apk. this is the latest play services for our device. it's signed so it should install right over the old version.

New to this and looking for clarification
I just received my Fire today which promptly upgraded itself to 5.1.1. All I want to do right now is install Google Play Store. I've downloaded the GAPPS file linked below (8.4.89), but now I'm hoping for a link for the RootJunky sideloader to complete the process. I'm a super newbie, so any instructions past just a simple link would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for the link! Probably what I was looking for, however, issue was solved by running the batch file in the rootjunky ADB zip a second time which probably gave me the same result.

If you haven't found your solution yet, here is the rootjunky link: http://rootjunkysdl.com/?device=Amazon Fire 5th gen
You download and extract the amazon fire 5th gen zip to a folder, connect your fire (make sure to have the necessary device/adb drivers installed), and follow the promps. FYI I had to run it twice to get Play to work properly, but I'm all set up now, don't even need root really (Although, a replacement launcher would be nice, I think the fire home launcher is a piece of crap).
The ad-removal didn't work with the Rootjunky script, but a separate ADB command got rid of them.

Install the drivers from Amazon here https://developer.amazon.com/appsan...etting-up-your-kindle-fire-tablet-for-testing
On tablet
We need to enable Developer Options
Go to Settings>Device Options>Tap on Serial Numbers seven times it'll say "You are now Developer"
This puts new category underneath Serial Number, Developer options so go into that
Toggle Enable ADB to the on position
Then plug the tablet in to pc
Then visit the thread here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/general/installing-google-framework-playstore-t3216122
Download the file in one, and unzip it.
Ignore it's drivers (many seem to have had difficulties with them) and you won't get any joy from the parts of the Batch file that block ads or updates, they won't do any harm, but they won't do anything well at all really so don't worry about them.
run 1-Install-Play-Store.bat
You can check the drivers you have installed work as it loads up, if it has you'll see your serial number on the left of the screen
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
List of devices attached
Gxxxserialxnumberxxxxxxxx device
If it shows, all well and good, run option 2 on menu screen and should be good to go.
It'll say it's blocked the ads, it hasn't.
Thank you guys. Can't believe how easy that was. One thing though - I downloaded the newer GAPPS file, but then the batch file never asked me for its location and therefore installed the default older one. It seems to work perfectly, and asked me to update Play Services first thing, which I suppose gave me the exact same result.
I appreciate the help very much.
I had same problem and used an apk. Loader got google play services and games but when I went to login to google play it just says checking info. I let it run for hours and nothing. It's been a week. No option of plugging into a PC please help I am up for any fresh ideas

Try this thread.
I was able to sideload google play store and other google apps in my fire and during sign in when I clicked on existing account then after entering password it said something like couldn't establish a reliable connection but my WiFi was working fine .
Then I tried the new option and created a new google account and it worked.
After some days I factory reset my device and rooted it using rootjunky supertool
It rooted but when I opened SuperSU app it said su binary needs to be updated .I taped normal method since I didn't have any recovery but it always fails.
Coming back to the question, when I instead playstore using the same supertool again after resetting the same error I.e. couldn't establish a reliable connection was faced and this time creating new also did not work. It always says that the username isn't available.
Please tell me any solution to fix my google play sign in problem.
I have already tried to change the timezone thing and cleared data and cache a lot of times, reboot etc.
Since the SuperSU app also doesn't work properly so I don't even have root access.
My main motive behind all this is to play clash of clans and load my old village linked to my google account. If there is a way to do that without google services then please tell or tell a way that I can fix my play store.
It would also be really helpful if you also tell how to fix my SuperSU app.
I have fire os 5.1.1 and I have not flashed any custom ROMs till now and this is a brand new device as I got it a week before and I'm using it from India but my uncle purchased it in London via amazon .I don't thing that makes any difference....right?
Whatever..please do reply
Thanks for help

I thought i blocked it when I used the tool to unlock the google playstore and everything, obviously i was wrong.
Is there anyway to set it back to 5.0.1 or even 5.0.0, also is there any way to do that without losing all of my apps/information.
Or can i simple run that google playstore tool again. Thats all i really want on my tablet right now, dont reallly want to root kit it at the moment, and i dont wanna brick it, messing around myself. So if there is anyway to get the play store working on 5.1.2 again or resetting it to 5.0.1 or 5.0.0 with or without losing my data can anyone please let me know and help me out if possible. Thanks guys
Edit: Ok the original install google play tool still works with 5.1.2 without any problems and it still lets you reblock updates (as far as i know, it said it worked) and now my playstore works again.
What exactly did you do? Uninstall all the google framework etc? Just reflash the bat script?

I have 2 tablets, and both were patched with Glytchy's script. One of the tablet never updated to 5.1.2 from 5.1.1, but the other tablet did, and it removed root.
I try running the script again on the 5.1.2 tablet, but it doesn't work (see picture).

This doesn't work for me anymore. My fire updated and wouldn't sign in after that. I uninstalled all the google stuff. Reflashed the bat file posted by shadow. Now when I try to add my google account it says can't establish connection with the server.

I'm using this method. It didn't block updates or remove ads. It had worked just fine on the last 2 previous system os updates. http://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/general/installing-google-framework-playstore-t3216122

Not sure which method you used as the linked post contains references to many other articles. If you used 'adb shell pm hide' then I'm not surprised it didn't work. Preferred method is to rename components responsible for providing OTA functionality.

Damn I've restored it too, still no dice. My other 2 kindle fires are ok so far on 5.1.2
I bought them all at the same time.
I messed up and had my kindle automatically updated to 5.1.2
Same here, update to 5.1.2 and now rooting not possible. Therefore no FlashFire, therefore no custom rom, therefore lots of time wasted...
It is new guys, give it some time... I am sure people are working on it... Just keep an eye for it...

Google play installed successfully. Root failed because 5.1.2 was yet another d*ck move by Amazon to patch root.

Supertool was updated, 5.1.2 should be working now... http://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/development/amazon-fire-5th-gen-supertool-root-t3272695
i have read and read but cant seem to find it. i am trying to install google on my new fire tablet. i see that root is not needed and i have tried a few tools.
first tool was Amazon-Fire-5th-Gen-Install-Play-Store, says all installed but nothing.
then i tried AmazonFire5thGenSuperTool, get the following error [install_failed_Version_downgrade_]
i have manually gotten services framework, google accoount manager, and google store installed, but cant seem to find the correct google play services.
i have registered the device and it has children profiles on it, not sure if that matters. i am very new to the kindle. my first one
thanX in advance.
going to reset device as i just got it today.
ok so i got it to work. had to do a factory reset.
So my understanding is that once the device is registered, then the ads are reinstalled or the "special offers" are back on home screen.?
is this correct?
