I picked up my P9+ yesterday and the first thing I did was check for updates. None were found, however I seem to be on a really old version. Can't seem to find any information on this, can anyone comment?

I've seen that thread, that's why I realise I'm way behind. Just wondering if anyone would know why it's so old and why there is no update found?
Updates differ country to country, and maybe ever the network carrier.

I see, so B127 in the UK/Vodafone may be the equivalent to B161 somewhere in Europe?

Possibly. Or The numbering system and update frequency is altogether different and they are late in updating compared to a more active Huawei community lets say in Germany. There should be a Huawei UK facebook account which should keep you updated on that.

It seems all custom ROMs are now on 3.62.401.1.
My daughter got an update and sent me this screendump:

That says 3.62.771.2
Are we talking he same version reference here? Is this as we don't have any newer leaked versions or why this massive difference in versions?

That build is a slighly new build of the 3.62 software that has been sent out to another region. The 771 portion means a certain region and the 2 at the end means it's the 2nd revision.

So in this case 3.62 means the actual "major" software revision, 771 means region and 2 means minor revision? That's a messed up denotation system for sure, but thanks for the clarification.
Is this described in any FAQ so I know where to look next time?

This. I believe it was for devices in India and maybe one or two other places. It was just a small fix for them. Nothing more.

I am on APB1, and not sure if these are going backwards or if compatable for APB1. I am going to do some research on them and will post my finding here.
I WOULD DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE DOWNLOADING AND ODINING SOMETHING YOUR NOT SURE ABOUT.

AOJ3 is 5.1.1 USA
AOG8 is 5.1.1 USA
AOL1 is 5.1.1 USA
If someone uses these please report back if they are good stock firmware downloads. I hope they may come in handy.

How are you determining that AOL1 is USA? I did a search and the file comes up as being for China. Have I missed something?
Thanks.
or, ya know, you could just download them where everyone else does http://samsung-updates.com/
which is a more trustworthy site and organised a bit clearer.
The change log is in Chinese so I dont know what the fixes were, does anyone know?

Hello everyone. I'm sure many people are having problems with their Note8s specially after receiving updates. Mine also did broke at some point where I lost the track. What I have done to try to fix it so far is;
Went into download mode - had this ;

I think the phone is in Egypt variant since it says carrier ID is Egypt?
For the Recovery mode I had these;
So as you see, I tried many things to fix this without sending it to SC since I live in North Cyprus. I'm pretty sure that it is not hardware related but more likely a software stuff. Any ideas to fix this? Thanks.
Btw, I am not sure if the images are visible or not, can someone leave me a feedback please?

i got the problem too
No one has any idea about how to fix this instead of sending phone to Samsung Care? Like draining the battery completely etc? Or possible software conflicts? Since I have updated to bootlader 6, I cannot go back to 5 either.
