Hi guys!
Seems like there's no separate threads for Xperia X.
I'm currently using the 34.0.A.1.264 firmware on Xperia X and some of the keypresses are recognized as a straight swipe line when typing fast and thus Swiftkey keeps assuming wrong words… I was wondering if any of you guys already have the latest firmware versions to double check this.
You can easily check this behavior by entering *#*#SERVICE#*#* on your dialer, choose Service Tests, then Touch, then Free Drawing test and then pretending you’re typing with both thumbs at high speed.
There is a separate thread for the Xperia X, its just that this crazy XDA search can be complicated.....easier if you just google "Sony xperia X xda" but here you go, this link will take you to the Xperia X thread:

I have the Xperia TL lt30at, I LOVE it . Sadly though, it cannot be rooted because bootloader unlock allowed is set to no:crying:. I was given 2 weeks to try this phone out which will be up this friday and I would like to get a phone that can be rooted and is on par or better than the TL. I also have this thing called "trade up" which allows me to trade in my phone for 75% (300$) of its value (400$) credit towards a new phone at any time. So I can trade in for the Z if/when it comes out for AT&T if/when it comes out in the US. What on AT&T market right now for 400$-500$ should I grab? I'm new to Android from iOS and jailbreaking and the TL is my first android and I have loved it. So XDA, please help me out a bit and toss your opinions around. I will give thanks to all who give informative :good: and helpful replies and none to those just being dicks .
Thanks guys.

Samsung SIII? Similar feature-wise, but slightly bigger. Has LTE and is available through At&t, and also apparently has a big dev community for AOSP, but if you purchase from at&t, it may be a special version in which the bootloader has been locked down. I guess you'd have to do some sleuthing in regards to that. You could always just return your TL to at&t and get an unlocked SIII from a third party; that way you'd know that you'd be able to unlock it...
Thanks for the reply

I considered the SIII but the colors are a bit too saturated and the price tag was just a bit too high for me. Thanks for the response though.
LT30at can be rooted just not bootloader unlocked. Z will not be available on at&t.

That's the root method to use but you have to install the backup and restore app manually before you do it since at&t removed it from their firmware.

If you really want to switch, I'd say go for an HTC One VX/X possibly the white X. The sounds are much better and the phone feels just sexy in your hand! But you will have a mainstream 8MP camera (if you are concerned about it). I will not recommend Pantech as they are relatively new in the high end smartphone business AFAIK. Buying an Ion will actually be kind of a downgrade from the T. LG is not too durable and the Samsung devices that you have mentioned here seem to be a little outdated. AFAIK.
Thanks for the input man. I like the HTC but the screens seem a bit off colored in pictures compared to the bravia screens. What do you think?
I can't find how to install it manually. Any guides you could direct me to? Sorry in advance if it's staring me in the face and I'm blind.

Download the apk for backup and restore. (it's in the link I posted above) Enable unknown sources in your android settings and when you open the apk it will offset you the option to install.

I figured it out with a little more help from a buddy. Thanks so much for all the help and patience. Any suggestions on what to do with a rooted phone? I have lucky patcher for my pandora. What other cool/fun stuff do you suggest? I may just hang in to my TL and trade up when the Z hits at&t. Not sure though

I mainly rooted to remove the bloatware AT&T apps ( but now I use the LT30p firmware so no bloatware from AT&T). Z will not be available through AT&T, would have to get it unlocked instead.
Anybody else experiencing quick launch bug ?
I'm currently on the 212 fw and quick launch still fails to launch, similar to the Xperia s until they finally fixed it on .55

no TX users on XDA or something? Or people can't take the time to help a member out with a simple question ?
If you have the TX, simply trying to open camera with dedicated camera button and see the percentage chance of it opening up.
Do not do it continuously as it will always open after the first try. Do it every here and then, maybe after the phone has entered deep sleep for 5-10 mins or so.
If your quick launch doesnt open ALL the time, 100%, then you have the quick launch bug.
Same issue happened on Xperia S, no one acknowledged it until i brought up the attention to SONY and they finally fixed it on .55.

first and foremost, i am not asking this to benefit myself. i just got this device and realized that the bug that a lot of people encountered on xperia S is also present on the xperia tx. instead of just burying that to the side, i'm actually doing something productive for all the xperia tx users by gathering a survey. if the bug is actually there, i will again bring it up to sony that the bug is present on the tx as well.
but Joonlin, what exactly are you doing here? just leeching and not contributing I would assume. given that you had the time to post a useless comment, you couldn't have answered if you have the bug or not to help out all the tx/t/v users?
who's the ****ing idiot here?
I have the same problem here, firmware 7.0A.3.197 The only solution to fix it is restart the phone. Other than that, I couldn't find any solution.

after 5 days, 1 user reported that he has similar bug. this is the same exact situation as the xperia S. most users dont even know they have the bug. they just assume they didnt press it correctly and press it 2-3 times to activate it. sad thread for the xperia tx phone. such a beautiful phone too.
there's virtually no development for the tx and the users arent stepping up to make the phone more popular. all the tx users are just hiding in the corner. and of course, under the search your device section, if you put it in Xperia Tx, nothing would even show up.
I had this issue on my Xperia T ages ago, I cant remember which version of software, but I am pretty sure the following update fixed it. Definatly not an issue on Jelly Bean.
[Q] Why Xperia TX (LT29i) not listed in Google Play "Supported Device" section
I went to Supported Device section in Google play from PC. I don't see any LT29i (even LT30) model name. That's why I cannot download Heavy games like Moden Combat 4 or other latest HD games. My device is showing unsupported.
Here is the Proof: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/1727131?hl=en&ref_topic=3046353
Please help me.

Ok, I get it. But still, my Xperia TX still showing unsupported when I got to Google Play and then Modern Combat 2 or 3 or 4 App Page. Then why is that.
I don't like Jelly Bean, but only for this issue, I updated to official 4.1.2 Jelly Bean today. but still same problem.
Is there any way to solve it?
All you can do is wait. That just means that game doesn't support your phone yet. The devs have to update it to make it compatible. I've had this same problem with some phones. Sometimes they update it sometimes they don't.

Ok, I think I found the problem.
In About Phone, my mobile's model number is: LT29i, no Model Name(Xperia TX) is listed . I think that's why Play Store cannot find my device.
Now how can I solve it?
Please Xperia TX users, can anyone tell me or give me a snapshot of your Xperia TX's About Phone information.
In my Xperia TX's About Phone following things are available serially:
1.Software update
2.Status
3.Legal information
4.Model Number : LT29i
5.Android version; 4.1.2
6.Baseband version
7.Kernel version
9.Build Number : 9.1.B.0.411
Is all of these are okey or something is missing?
Your phone IS supported by google play, just not by those apps you want. That is what should be there, there is nothing wrong with your phone
Email the developer of the apps and ask then to add support for your phone.
Edit
This is getting close to a double facepalm!

If you want to try and risk it, you just root it and change your model registration name in build.prop. Just try not to over play with it, cause developers may have disabled it for our device due to its inability to sustain it. I am starting to doubt xperia tx phone for gaming, but i am playing Iron Man 3 with it now, which, by the way is also not compatible with our device. But so far, its working well cheers!

Hi, I know that some of you have used the Moto X 2014 Moto feature and you missed the good 'ol Moto display, wave your hand and stuffs and you want Moto X play to be the same.
Now I've been using this app ever since it released the first version (1.0) on my Sony X8 and Sony C2305, I'm still using it now and it works like 95% of the times.

So I just bought a phone and I am trying to get into recovery etc. I want to install AOSP rom for my Xperia Z.
I can't get into recovery because there is no PINK led for me to start pressing the volume keys.
but is all of that irrelevant?
I can't sign in using my google account, I have to sign using previous owners account. I don't think I'll get that.
Can I myself find out what xperia this is? I can't even be sure of that now. It just says Xperia Z on the backside, it's a massive, 5,7" screen.
are you sure, buddy?
Xperia Z has 5" screen
and there is no Xperia phone that has 5.7" screen

Hello! you were right, 5.5", i measured it against my Note 3 and they looked about the same, so i thought 5.7".
Either way, with the help of a buddy we got into the phone, and all of that works. Now I just have to root it, it's turned out to be a hassle, finding the right drivers so far hasn't yielded any results.
