[Q] T810 MM no themes ? - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello.
First i got to admit i never ever got an samsung device before. I am used to Nexus devices and all mods.
So far i am pretty happy with the Tab S2, but what i miss is the options for customization eg. themes..
From what i understand its because its firmware is odexed.
So themes and other customizations are only possible in deodexed Roms.. !?
Is there no Samsung theme app for the S2 ? hardly can believe it but can't find something.
I simply want to black out all the system settings and UI (i am used to it ever since)
Thanks for not bashing n00b

Why are the ROMs so damn big?

Ok, this is a serious question guys.
I am coming from a HTC Inspire 4G, where a full ROM was under a hundred meg, why is it even with almost everything removed, ROMs for my beloved Note are over 300meg..?
Look forward to everyones answers!!
Cheers
FYI your Inspire's stock Sense ROM is over 350MB. Sense and TouchWiz are big ROMs with added features and so on. The ROMs under 100MB is CM7 and MIUI. Since we don't have these for the Note yet, we'll have to settle with TouchWiz ROMs for the time being.
Sent from my iPad GT-N7000 using xda premium
I install Zeam straight away once I install a ROM, what are the features that TouchWiz offers?! I doubt I use any of them lol.
Totally forgot Inspire was sense I installed a clean ASOP rom as soon as I got it.
Probably been answered a hundreds time around here but I can't find anything for SGN, how do i build my own ROM a guide would be awesome, I'd really love to throw together an ASOP inspired ROM and try and get the size down and speed up!

They're not just the UI, it's also the apps.
Android itself doesn't support S-Pen in 2.3, so that's Samsung.
The calendar app - samsung
widgets - samsung
custom apps and UI (like rubberbanding effects, custom font setting, etc)
There are a lot of under the hood things that has been changed. Touchwiz is something essential for ANY ROM and it takes A LOT of work to remove it. I mean A LOT. Samsung designed it to be run with Touchwiz, so any dev. has to work a lot to get everything working fine without any touchwiz and that's a lot of work.
And the numbers of pixels of Note is 2.6 times of WVGA. So, all the graphic files for the UI will be larger too.

[Q] S3 MOD/ADDON for Galaxy Note

Is there a mod or addon pack available for Galaxy Note CM 9 nightly builds which can give me a look n feel of Galaxy S3?
Thanks in advance..
I'm not really sure what you mean...
Add-on to CM9 builds...?
There are a lot of other ROMs, TouchWiz-based that have the new TouchWiz Nature Launcher and themes and mods to make them look like the S3...
You do have to also consider that the S3 is a bit more powerful and handles them faster than the Note does... Best thing to do really is to find a S3 somwhere in your area, maybe a showroom or something and play around with it.
All I'm gonna say is that if the Note 2's based on it, then there's a shiny future ahead for us

Nah..!! i don't want to install any other ROM. I'm happy with CM9 at the moment
I was going through different threads and came across many mods and themes to make S2 look like S3. So, i was just wondering of there are such theme packs or mods available for good'ol CM9..

[Q] Question about THEMES on our lovely Note

Hi everyone i've got my note for couple mounts now but before i had Galaxy S 2 and Galaxy S.
So i wrote about those phone because on galaxy S i've had so many fantastic themes .Why on Note those themes are kind of shallow .They don't change as many things as others themes on galaxy S.
Hey don't get me wrong i know it's hard to make a decent theme but if on SGS they could get it so i'm pretty sure on Note they could do it too.
So mayybe the reason is that Note is kind of "old" and themers don't want to support it , i don't know what's the main reason but i wish to have themes from SGS or SGS2 on our Note it would be so great
Our ROMs offer much more customization from within ROM itself. No need for too many themes.

[Q] Love to have the new 4.3... BUTTT!?

Hey there,
This has probably been answered before. so a simple redirect would be ok.
I love the stock look of the N7000 (menu buttons and locker) but all of the 4,3 roms have the Nexus menu buttons and app locker suck. I find those horrible to use.
First question... what would it be called (kinda nooby when it comes to launchers and such).... Are they called AOSP or AOKP or something.. or is it completely different.
Are there any roms which look like the stock rom.. but with enhanced features with the new 4.3 features?
Thanks in advance.
Ricky
aosp, aokp, cm, miui are just rom types.
By saying menu buttons you mean the whole look of an interface. You mean You want this stock 4.1.2 samsung blue stuff?
Because if this is what You want you may want to download samsung theme for cm from the google play.
Sent from note, a phone like never before

That makes sense,
Just hate the look of the nexus/whole tablet interface of the rom new roms..
Just stuck with the updated version of LiveNote 5.2.
What are you rocking?

I'm using PA myself and it allows for nice customization when it comes to looks. Have you tried that? There are also a few fun launchers that might solve your cosmetic issue. Is it mostly the new DPI settings you're having trouble with? Or just the general art style of Android?

I haven't tried PA yet. Next on the list.
I am looking for a stock icons/colour scheme, the apps logo not to look like the nexus variation of droid. Just me being an oldschool stock visuals.

I'm currently running Lungo ROM (android 4.0.4) because it's light.
If You are searching for more functions use PA, or the best "Jellybam".
That's the best ROM ever, but it uses a LOOOOT of memory.

Note 4 Touchwiz UI?

Hey Guys,
I had a quick question for you all.. So remember how when the Galaxy S5 was released and people were making modifications to their build.props, and the UI would change to the S5's Touchwiz UI? Well when the Note 4 gets released, do you think we'll have the option to try the build.prop modification again and see if it works?
Thanks!
I believe I read somewhere it will already be based on the S5 UI.
