I am having a problem writing to my external card. I first noticed the problem when titanium backup was failing when trying to write to it. I recently updated my cm12.1 installation and since then I have no write access to my sd card. I don't know what to do. I can't delete files from my sd card either, says it does not have permission. Using a sony xperia z3c
Update, I seemed to have fixed the problem by *granting write access* via the FX file browser and rebooting.
Or you can use fouldermount for lollipop and down bellow

I'm using the following app to both kitkat and lollipop

cannot confirm that it'll work on marshmallow since I've not updated my z3c atm

My understanding is you have to add that line to the file.
I flashed this "ExtSD_Fix_rw-signed-v1.9b.zip", that you can download from there:

For me, it works.

Yeah you're missing the external storage line which you have to add.
There is a Xposed module called KitKat SD Card Full Access which fixes this bug also.

The IMEI is not supossed to change, is your phone's UINIQUE number. Try editing the build.prop for model number and see if it works for you.
Thank you so much for an early reply. I am a noob when it comes to flashing roms and changing the builds. I will be very grateful to you if you can provide me with a link which tells how to change the build.

Try this
Take the build.prop from the system folder and copy it in your internal storage
Now in pc open buil.prop from internal storage
Do the required editing in notepad or notepad ++
Save it
Now using root explorer copy the edited buil.prop to system folder with permissions rw-r-r

Hi,
I'm studying how PackageManagerService works, and i noticed that if an application was downloaded to /data/app i can access the file and open inputstream .
but if APK was downloaded to SD card, i can't access the file from PackageManagerService.
is there something i can do?
I want to be able to read the APK before it get installed...
Thanks,

I'm in the packageManagerService context, i don't have PackageInfo (the application is still not installed)
You could hook PermissionGranter and give the process extra permissions, or see where the system is actually parsing the APK's manifest before installing it.

So just to make sure I understand, I can create a service and run it from the hooked method and it should work?
if so, i have another question
How can i stop the original method from running until a point i allow it to continue?
Thanks GermainZ !

I don't understand how you read that from my reply, to be honest. Here's what I meant:
Hooked code *is not* run as your app. The hooked code is run as the hooked app.
If the hooked app can't do X, then the hooked code can't do X either.
Your app's permissions do not affect the hooked code in any way, only normal (not hooked) code.

Using the normal ways you'd normally use if it weren't an Xposed module, in the beforeHookedMethod hook. I'm not familiar with the exact methods, you can look that up. Just be aware that blocking it for too long will cause an ANR.

What did you actually do?
If you can't even delete the file, what are you doing installing alpha software?
I am having the exact same issue. My phone rebooted and I get the same message in the Xposed app. I do not have that file that was mentioned to be deleted though. I attached my log, any ideas?

I'm running into the same problem as of this morning. The same line shows up in my log, but "/data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf " doesn't seem to exist. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place.
Using ES File Explorer, I navigate to the "/" directory, and open the "data" folder, but there's nothing in there. nor is there anything in the "data" folder in the (emulated) SD card directory.
any suggestions?

im currently using 4.3 jelly bean. I reseted my device but i think i have problem with my sd card or internal storage. because when i try to take pictures i cant. the stock gallery app wont save my pictures that i take with my camera. So i deleted the stock gallery app and downloaded the quickpic app. Now i can take photos and the quickpic app saves my photos. However when i take screenshoots it doesnt work..
You must have wrong partition permissions for your sdcard. Go to WhiteNeo CM12.1 thread then go to FAQ and find the terminal command for fixing storage permissions. Did you use CM12 before switching to stock rom? Or did you repartitioned your storage?

If you are using mm, you need to give the file manager explicit permission to write to the sdcard.
The file manager should ask for this permission.

I felt it's a stupid question...
It's strange. Android sees the card in Settings/memory. It also sees that 51 GB of 59 are full. But only sometimes it also sees the files. Sometimes it only sees the folders, and when opening them they seem to be empty. Just no files can be seen. But once it even worked to open Fotos on the SD-card, change something and save it again...
That's really strange, and I have no more idea what I could try else?

Use a different file manager. If you're rooted the best is root explorer.
They also have a free non root version called Explorer or try ES Explorer.

I already did that. The phone is rooted, TWRP on it. Since Total Commander didn't work on the SD card, and also the built in file manager from Samsung I installed ES file explorer. And then it worked. But only for a short time. It's really strange.

You won't have any issues with root explorer.
Also MM manages sdcard access on a per app basis. The app must be mm compatible and request access permission.
App permissions can also be enabled/disabled in app manager.

tks ashyx. Yes, I already bought a new Samsung superfast card. This works now. Merry Christmas!
Had the same issue, it was definitively the card. Works perfectly with any file manager after getting a new one. Cheers
