Hey, I'm sorta new at this rooting and unlocking bootloader stuff. I had successfully unlocked the bootloader on my HTC One Sprint and was trying to get root access.
I had just flashed the newest version of TWRP for my device. Once I had gave up trying to root the HTC I reboot the phone and... its stuck on the htc one m7 beats audio splash screen. I tried using RUU, but I have Lollipop, so it couldn't install a newer version. I tried using the fastboot flash zip firmware.zip method but I keep getting an "unknown directory" error. then lastly I tried to use adb to push the .zip but the pc wouldn't recognize my phone. Note that it DOES recognize my phone in fastboot mode. Help is needed and appreciated!!!
EDIT: Nevermind! I was using the wrong RUU, I needed to use the latest one. Everything is now up and running!

Hello
I have update my HTC One (europe) into 4.2.2 recently.
I have unlocked the bootloader, installed a recovery (ClockWorkMod Touch 6), and root the device.
But after wanted to install a module founded on the net, I blocked the device (without any save obviously), and the device starts but freeze on the screen of HTC logo.
I always have access to the bootloader (and to fastboot) and to recovery CM6.
To reinstall ROM, I found several solutions on the web but none of theses worked :
- I tried to install a RUU ROM and relocked my bootloader before => impossible, error 140 because it considers that my bootloader does not have the good version. Indeed the RUU availables on the web are only 4.1 and apparently the downgrade is not authorized.
- I tried to inject a custom ROM via ADB sideload but there were a new issue : my device is not recognized! DEVICE NOT FOUND. The fastboot command works well, the HTC is detected, but not the ADB command, which is the only one enabling me to copy a custom ROM in the internal memory of the device (I reinstalled the drivers several times obviously).
I dont know what to do anymore, I feel that the device can be saved because I have access to the bootloader, fastboot and recovery.
But I do not see which other method to use to finally be able to replace the exsiting ROM by a new clean ROM
Thank you very much of your assistance.
You need to be in recovery and sideload mode when using the adb command. I'm not sure about CWM but on TWRP sideload mode is located under advanced options.
AT&T HTC One
BaadNewz's InsertCoin 3.0-7
Flar2's Bulletproof 3.4
If you re-locked your bootloader when trying to run the RUU, you will have to go to htcdev again and get a new token and unlock the bootloader again before you will be able to flash anything in recovery.
Thats maybe why you can't sideload in adb.
Also you have the phone device drivers installed on your PC right?
Could also try sideloading and other troubleshooting by using a toolkit:

rename the ROM from its original name to "ROM.zip" without the quotes, and then try again ADB
if it didnt work inject TWRP, and copy the ROM to a USB Stick and using a USB OTG ($1) mount the USB Stick in TWRP and install the ROM
it worked %100 for me
Hey there I just rooted my phone via the htcdev method. After I used mike 1986's guide to upgrade firmware, which involved relocking the device. I successfully installed the latest firmware and re unloocked it with htc dev again. Now is where I'm stuck. I've wiped the phone completely, so no rom to boot to. Fastboot commands word but ADB will not... I have tried installing drivers with the sdk manager and htc sync... but no luck.
What can I do from here.
My hboot is v. 1.56. it is unlocked and s-on currently..
Thanks so much if you can help!!!!

buy a USB OTG cable. it is a micro usb(ur charger) port to a full usb. put the zip file for the rom of ur choice and flash the rom through TWRP recovery. If u want an HTC Sense rom, use Android Revolution HD 41. Go 2 the development forum and download the rom from there

Hi you are able to flash TWRP. So, you just need to boot in recovery, connect to a computer, mount storage and drop a custom rom to the storage.
There's also an adb sideload method on twrp that will let you transfer a Rom easily. Google it
Hi, I have tried being clever and rooting my HTC ONE Mini, which all went perfectly well. Unlocked Bootloader and installed TWRP.
I found a radio update on a website and tried installing it, with S-ON. As you can imagine I am not stuck in Bootloop.
I somehow managed to wipe all the data off my phone and sdcard too.
So I am stuck with a phone in bootloop with recovery from TWRP.
Everytime i try and fastboot flash any file even an Android ROM.zip it doesnt like it. I am novice at this so you are probably reading this and think what is he doing.
Can someone help me or guide me to getting my phone back and running again. Please??

You can't use fastboot to flash a rom.zip! It must be pushed to your phone (use either adb push or adb sideload from recovery) and installed from custom recovery.
Btw this is the wrong forum for your device. Htc one mini forum is here
I have the following:
Sprint M8
Unlocked via HTCDev
Rooted with SU
S-Off via FireWater
Removed tamper
Updated firmware to latest
When I attempt to flash any kind of ROM, the flash succeeds, but when I reboot I'm stuck at the bootloader screen. The phone doesn't show an OS on it at all, and only goes to the bootloader no matter what. I can get access to it with adb and fastboot, transfer files and flash zip/img no problem, but nothing appears to stick. I've tried wiping a bunch of times with different recoveries and different ROMS with the same result. Any ideas or am I out of luck? Thanks in advance

What recovery are you using, and what ROMs have you tried to flash, specifically?
Try sticking with one of each that is known to be working.

Thanks for the reply and your work on this phone! I have tried CWM 6.0.4.8 and TWPR 2.7.0.5 with the same result. I have tried the following ROMS:
Bad Seed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2705508
Viper ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715224
Stock Barebones http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2716492
And I just flashed your stock rooted from http://themikmik.com/showthread.php?16276-SPRINT-ROM-M8WHL-Stock-Rooted-Base-1-54-651-8
I can get to the HTC One logo and the startup tone plays, but so far it appears stuck.

Sounds like you're just not waiting long enough.
im not really sure what happened...
i was trying to root then s-off today. i got htcdev.com unlocked, was able to flash custom recovery (philz) and flash superuser. when i tried to s-off (firewater) i got the whelp this sucks error (im still not really sure why or what that means)
i tried to then flash a custom rom, and now it wont boot past the htc flash screen with the red text ( this may be because i didnt flash firmware with the rom i tried to install?)
i have tried to flash firmware, and run a ruu and nothing is doing anything...
please please please someone help
What firmware version do you currently have installed? What ROM were you trying to flash?
Take a look at this thread below for info on how to flash the latest RUU. If you have a HK version you'll need the HK RUU. After you run the RUU you'll need to reroot your phone. You'll also need to use the SunShine exploit to gain S-off (the "whelp" message means Firewater won't work on your device). I also recommend Captain Throwback's TWRP 2.8.0.0. recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2880328
im not sure which of these are the firmware...
hboot - 3.16.0.0000
radio - 1.05.20.0321_2
os - 1.54.654.9
Firmware is your radio version. Use the RUU from the link below. Follow the instructions for the manual system update. You'll need to relock your bootloader beforehand using the command "fastboot oem lock" while connected via Fastboot USB mode.

ohh i forgot about having to relock for ruu
trying that now
I downloaded the ruu, but when I run it it can't find my phone... I think it wants me to be booted into the ROM but I can't boot the only thing I can access is the bootloader

RUU's are run from the bootloader...make sure it says fastbootusb when connected to your PC.
it did say that
Make sure you have HTC Sync installed on your computer.
I have that installed too... I got it to boot, ended up flashing different recovery then a different rom and that worked... Never got the ruu to work tho... Anyway, thanks for your help
