So i have installed TWRP on nexus 6, i tried installing CM 13 and a couple of other ROMs but i get stuck at 'encryption interrupted' error. i had stock marshmallow rom on it and it was encrypted before started doing all this. I followed the steps listed on a guide on XDA but ended up with this error, at least thats what i think. [Q] I9000 Soft-bricked after Jellybean flash

Evening,
After trying nearyl everything I found online to get my phone back into a working state I finally gave up and decided to ask
you for help.
So, it all began with me trying to flash the Jelly Bean Port onto my SGS in the hope it would fix my constant crashes and other problems
I had after another flash.
I got it working at some point, but it did not react when I plugged it in the usb port as mass storage device or any other mode for that matter.
So I tried some other solutions.
A couple tries later i started getting the "cant mount /dbdata" error which i fixed with a solution from this forum using a dbata.tar as PDA, using the JW4 firmware.
However because I wanted the usb to work I tried again to get jelly bean to run, without success.
I'm no unable to boot the phone passed "Enter your password to decrypt storage" or in any other mode.
When flashing I keep getting "Failed to mount /data" which seems to disappear at times when the external sd is inserted.
My Computer regocnizes the Phone as two different drives, even when i remove the sd...
So yeah.
The moral of the story is: I cant get the phone to run on any mode except jellybean and there without usb connection, if i get passed the decrypt thing.
Currently all flashing leads me to the recovery screen saying:
"Can't mount /data " and "Cache wipe failed" after that it just bootloops.
So, can anyone help me out?
P.S. I can at all times enter recovery and download mode.
Hey
If u can enter download mode, why dont u flash 2.3.6??that should clean all your problems..
Plus if you upgrade to JB your external sd-card wont be mounted to ur system...(you cannot alter any data directly to your external sdcard...
There are 3 ways to solve your prob..
1.use CWM..
--goto mounts and storage, then hit external sdcard..
2.use your external memory card directly with ur system..that means without your phone
3.(long method)
Transfer ur data to internal sdcard then use a file manager and transfer to external memory card
Cheers
If I Helped, dont mind Hitting the Thanks button...

I tried this approach and flashed the JVU Version from samfirmware.
It leads to the following error:
Code:
Failed to mount /sdcard (file exists)
(...)
Format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
During the boot up, after the first flash.
Note: The external SD-Card was not in the phone, as well as the sim card.
After that it starts bootlooping.
If I insert the external SD-Card before the flashing process i only get:
Code:
Format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
And the Phone starts to bootloop again.
I've tried to google this and I get two reactions:
The internal SD is fried.
Format the internal SD using CWM.
I believe I did try the second approach, but i would greatly appreciate a short guide on how-to properly format my internal SD

I was under the impression they had fixed that bug in V6.
Anyway, it's not the real problem since I would rather get my phone to work again, before I go ahead and try out jelly bean again.
The ics semaphore.tar odin kernel from the semaphore thread has worked for everyone I've suggested it to.
For some reason it seems to work where other flashable packages don't, worth a try.
Sent from horseback.
First of all I flash stock firmware. / 3 PDA files, MODEM, CSC / odin with the pit512 and Re-partition.za second is that the flash / ICS, JB / clearing script to use the kernel, then the full wipe and cwm JB installation ....

If so, just tried it, didnt work, still get the same error as before:

At this Point, I get the first error concering the formating, see above.
If I still continue and manage to get JB to work (I event tried the kernel cleaning script). I get locked out because of this "Enter password to
decrypt storage" Error. Which is known to be fixed by performing a factory reset, which I cant do, because of the first error.

try and enter any password five times until prompted that this will wipe the card, than you should be able to do so
So, today I decided to buy a new smartphone after one last try of getting my old one to work.
I used the default guide to flash JellyBean and now it works ...
I guess it was scared or something, I'll keep using it to check of fluently it works for now and bought and sd reader to solve the usb issue.
So this thread can be closed.
Thanks to all for their tips.

Deleted internal storage in TWRP. Need Help.

I deleted the internal storage on my phone in twrp. What can I do to get everything back?
I think you're boned. Unless there is a way to pull the deleted data using software on a PC.
Fastboot factory IMG. Or use rom tool kit to flash a factory image. There is an option in twrp to connect to the PC where you can transfer files. You could always load a rom that way and flash a zip through twrp
As said above, you can still install a ROM. Or flash a factory image etc. But the data (pictures, videos, music etc) is gone. It was formatted and not likely able to be recovered. I assumed that's what you meant, when you asked to "Get everything back"?
My sad sad self went and did this. Still in TWRP. I've mounted system, data, and cache. I see the Nexus 6 in Windows 7 and see Internal Storage; it's empty. I cannot create new folders or copy files (ROMs, GApps, zips, etc) into Internal Storage without getting "The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected." I cannot for the life of me find another way to push files to the phone.. Any help is greatly appreciated!
- b
EDIT: Is it still possible for me to follow Mr. Hoax's Tut through bootloader? (I'm really nervous to try and reboot into BL) It says I don't have an OS (obviously) when I get to the confirm reboot of TWRP...

You will need to restart recovery and only after that it will format the user data!

Nook hd plus, Cm 10.2 stopped working. It keeps crashing and restarting.

I got nook hd+ and used cm version 10.2 something for a while.
The device keeps crashing and restarting like crazy.
1 out of 10 times, it launches, but before I do anything, it crashes. Hell.
It has been crashing and restarting quite often these days, but since last night, all it does is crashing and restarting.
To make matters worse, I tried to format the device and install cm again. It did not work.
I made booting SD card and chose 'wipe data/ factory reset'. And nook said it wiped /data /cache data wipe complete etc. However, files were still there in internal storage.
On top of that, I had to try 4 times to install newest cm-11. It aborted.
Next, I tried to installnookjdplus factory2.2.0 . It had error. (status 6) to ne specific.
So, I tried newest cwm recovery. It installed, but nook still crashed.
I persevered and tried to install cm 11. It installed, but still crash and restart.
Hell. I literally spent whole day doing this. I am confused and frustrated and angry and experiencing a few other negative emotions English language dows not have in words.
Please, some advice.

CM10.x, CM11, and stock ROM need different versions of CWM recovery.
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2679899 for info/pointers on flashing CM11.
To go back to stock ROM, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2062613(item #6).
When switching between CM10, CM11, and stock ROM, you need to do "wipe /data & factory reset".
If none of the above helps the your problem might be due to an unruly app or hardware related.

Ok. At least I got my biggest problem now.
I think my roblem is wipe data/factory reset does not do job it is supposed to do.
I still see folders and files in internal memory after factory reset. I think that is why install aborts and crashes even after successful install.
I think my problem is that wipe data/factory reset does not do its job
It gives me message it is formatting data cache and stuff. And last day they gave me data wipe complete. But the problem is, in internal memory, I can still see old folders and old files.
I think he should be gone if it is formatted. Where do I get the meaning of factory reset wrong?
Its not what is wrong with me. And how can I make factory reset work
And second question is that I tried to install B&N original operating system from cwm-based recovery. I tried a few different versions of
nookHDplus-factory-2.1.1-plain-stock.zip
However it always fail to install. Install aborted for some reason.
Thanks. It seem helpful.

You can get v6036 on that same thread digimax referenced above (my CWM thread linked in my signature). And a data wipe does not wipe your media files. To do that, go to mounts and storage and select wipe "data and datamedia".

trying it. hope it works.
did not work
for about deleting internal data, I went to 'mounts and storage'. used 'format /sdcard' and 'format/ data and/ data/media (/sdcard), but still has stuff in internal memory.
and to my surprise , I have been using CWM-6028. so far. I thought its name was 'NookHDplus-bootable'.
hell. stupid me.
Anyhow, CWM-6028 has been giving me troule
so, I would try other versions.
So far, I have done
1. made boot sd by burning image.
2. copy 'NookHDplus-factory-2.1.0-plain-stock' files and other versions.
3. Insert SD in device and boot CWM.
4. choose zip from sdcard.
5. install factory plain stock.
then I get message 'Failed to retouch 'system/lib/libemoji.so' (WTF is libemoji? and it is always this same file.)
E: error in sdard/nookHDplus-factort-2.2.1-plain-stock.zip(status7)
Installation aborted.
hell. And I tried every factory zip.
Am I doing something wrong?
Failed tp retouch '/system/lib/libemoji' is error message I get
Everytime I tried to install factory stock.
I tried every version of stock files. And I tried all CWM. And even tried TWRP, but it is always the same message what the hell is that emoji?
And what can I do with it?
What frustrates me the most is the fact that it installed 99% in a minute without trouble and stays there 410 minutes until it fails to install. It's driving me crazy
Does CM makes Factory reset by power button and home button does not work either.
Because I am getting message factory reset failed.
If CM is not the reason for it, well, something is wrong. Very wrong.
I am suspecting Internal memory corrupted lr something.
I should seriously consider throwing it away now.

It is possible you have a bricked emmc. When bricked it looks like it is writing but is really read only and nothing takes. If you still have media files after a successful format data and datamedia then it is bricked. Probably best to get rid of it. You can buy a refurbished unit very cheaply these days.

Assuming that your EMMC is shot, you can try running off SD card this no-emmc version of CM11 ROM: https://iamafanof.wordpress.com/201...-4-4-4-for-bricked-no-emmc-nook-hd-04nov2014/. It's best to use a card with fast randomized block read/write (which is what Class 4 cards are typically best at).
Thanks guys. By the way, what is emmc?
Is it part of CM software?
Does not sounds like hardware.
If I had factory resetted a day earlier, I would not have had problems.
Well. That is the way it is.
I finally kind of got nook working. I am running it on SD card now.
I got to thank you guys for your good advices.
Problem is that this ecmm free booting shrinks storage space.
No matter what is size of SD card, Internal storage is 900mb and SD card got 100mb. (I mean virtual Internal storage the file made in SD card) Not enough space to hold a movie.
I am happier to have tab working, but also wish to use full space of my SD.
At least I wish I can have a few Gs of storage.

Right after burning the ROM image to SDcard, it should be possible to use a disk partitioning tool such as MiniTool Partition Wizard to examine the SDcard ROM image's partitions and resize the /data partition to fill up the un-allocated space.

[HELP] T813 'Failed To Mount' error in TWRP

Having some trouble figuring out what's happening here.
I've flashed a MM ROM (SM-T813_1_20161017102153_3nenlutzdf) but when I go to TWRP, I'm getting multiple 'Failed To Mount' errors on all the partitions, and a 0 size on Internal Storage. I've done a 'Format Data' and that shows the internal storage size, but it does not survive a reboot.
I'm sure it's something easy - just can't seem to figure it. Thanks in advance for your help!

Many errors when wiping cache partition in TWRP

Hello,
As stated in the titled I have tried to root my OP 3T and it horribly wrong. First I got the error message telling me it couldn't mount my /system partition. I googled how to fix it and discovered that I had to wipe the partition as it might be corrupt. Just to be sure that it was indeed corrupt. The size was stated as 2913MB but the used space was stated as 1728265MB. I therefor wiped it and tried to boot. Now I couldn't boot into Oxygen OS...The only thing i can boot into was fastboot and recovery. I then tried to install the LineageOS and it worked. I can finally boot to a OS. However when going in the recovery again and wiping the cache I get a slew of errors. Almost all of them are "Error opening: '/data/local/nhsystem/kali-armhf/dev/xxxx' (Not a directory)". There is also one other error: "Unable to mount storage"
How do I fix this?

System partition is the OS. So from that fact, it should now be obvious that wiping system (and therefore wiping the OS) will result in not being able to boot to OS.
Not being able to mount system is a little odd. What version TWRP? Current version is typically recommended (currently 3.2.3-1).
You can try in TWRP Wipe section, the "Format data" button. This will often fix corruption issues with data partition (format is not the same as wipe), although I'm not sure how the system partition was affected.

I'm using TWRP 3.2.3-1. I tried to format with the "Format data". It seems that I still can't install the OxygenOS. Also the error "Error opening: '/data/local/nhsystem/kali-armhf/dev/xxxx' (Not a directory)" still accurs.
I'm still able to install and run LineageOS.

Formatting with 3.2.3-1 will remove the encryption footer. It's basically the only build of TWRP you DO NOT want to use! 3.2.3-10 is the latest but that won't reinstate your encryption footer. My advice is this. Flash TWRP 3.2.3-0, format at least /system, /data and /cache from the Wipe/Advanced screen and then Wipe everything for good measure.
Make sure you are in front of your PC when you do this. Back up everything to PC first as formatting will delete everything from Internal Storage. Make sure you have all your Install zips ready to go on your PC. Whn you're done formatting and wiping you can copy the install zips back to Internal Storage and flash OOS full Zip (or Custom ROM).

I have now downgraded TWRP to version 3.2.3-0 and wiped everything. I didn't backup as I don't have anything on there because it's not my main device. After wiping I tried installing OOS again and this time I get the same "Error opening: '/data/local/nhsystem/kali-armhf/dev/xxxx' (Not a directory)" error and now it cant mount the /system partiton again

You're not just wiping, You're formatting. Select each of the partitions (Cache/Data/System) and format in each case. (I recommend EXT4 for Data)

Ok. I tried to format all the partitions with EXT4 and tried to install OOS again with a adb sideload. This didn't work and I got an error "adb sideload cannot read 'OnePlus3TOxygen.zip'". So I tried installing it with a OTG adapter and a USB inside TWRP and it worked. OOS is running and working! Thanks for the help
Now I'm just curios as to why I can't sideload...

A few possibilities:
1) OnePlus3TOxygen.zip of course isn't the name of the file as downloaded, so i assume you renamed it to something more sensible before trying to sideload? Do you have 'Hide Extensions of known filetypes' selected in Windows Explorer? Could it be that what you ended up with was 'OnePlus3TOxygen.zip.zip', which of course wouldn't work if you were trying to sideload 'OnePlus3TOxygen.zip'?
2) You didn't move your download to your platform-tools folder in adb?
3) You didn't open a CMD window in your platform-tools folder?
Anyway, good that you're back on your feet.

Here's what I did:
Moved the zip file to the platform-tools folder.
Kept the stock name of the zip file.
opened CMD window in platform-tools folder.
I still get the error.

You wouldn't be the first. It's a common issue. You know you can just move the zip to Internal Storage and flash it with TWRP? The Recovery is MTP enabled. Useful to know for future reference. :good:
