Hi all,
Looking for a bit help flashing this Rom. I know I can do it with miflash but that removes twrp. If I then reinstall twrp it can't access the storage any more so I can't take backups. Twrp can't install the Rom as it gets stuck at the three dots during boot. Any ideas?
Skooby
Hi there.I have installed this rom over the 7.3.4.0 china stable with twrp. And have no issues so far.Just download the recovery rom from 7.3.5.0 global and install it after full wipe.

So it's not the full Rom I download? I didn't see a recovery version. Will look again
Edit: looked again and it is the recovery version i installed. How long does it take for first boot? I waited about half an hour at the three dots page and then gave up

Hey Dev if u are free from your work then port a ZCX TWRP for xiaomi mi 3 based on official kernel source...!! Anyone has need it...!!
Because it supports ota incremental updates...!!!
Plzzz....
1.st: requests don't belong to development forum
2nd: there's no need of zcx on Mi3... Normal TWRP already supports OTA updates even on MIUI, as far as you didn't modify/root your system.

Please could you confirm that, becouse i can't find that option.
Many thanks

Yes I've just updated like that.
Steps:
1.) downloaded the update using MIUI's Updater app (1xxMB)
2.) Pressed on the reboot button
3.) It has automatically installed the update and rebooted.
So basically no special steps are needed.

You will loose twrp doing so, and have to install it again.

Did you find zcx for cancro?
Im surprise there is no port version for our mi3 / mi4.
Its a pain to have twrp and csnt use incremental otas.

Here is official DualBootPatcher
https://dbp.noobdev.io/downloads/
Can you make it for the mi5s too?
FINALLY!! i use dualbootpacher on my old Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and i love it! now i can use Miui and LineageOs without format factory :victory:
Can you move this to Mi5S Plus subforum?
i can't install any rom different from miui-based on mi5s plus. If i try to install lineage or resurrection remix, i have error during install. if i install miui global in dualboot, i have no problem. why ??
same on capricorn. when i try "LineageOS" @Secondary (dual) partition, my mi5s didn't boot..
best regards
You need to decrypt data in twrp before to try dualboot
you should install data slot.
and you have to decrypt your data partition
it works well.

I have tried flashing Lineage on the data slot. No problem when patching or flashing, but it always boots into TWRP. Trying to flash MultiBoot/data-slot-lineage/boot.img into the boot partition as suggested in the documentation doesn't help, and TWRP keeps coming. How can I decrypt data in twrp? I can't find any option....
Thanks!
ok, i get it now, thx. we must FORMAT DATA in TWRP before, to get DECRYPTED storage. I'm out..

A few weeks ago the fingerprint sensor on my Mi MIX randomly stopped working. After inquiring I discovered that this is a common issue that can be resolved by reflashing a rom. I was on MIUI before this but decided I wanted a change so I flashed LOS partly in the hope that this would resolve the fingerprint sensor issue but it still appears to be non-functional. I can't find it in the menu, which is just the same as with MIUI where it one day randomly stopped working and disappeared from the menu. Is there anything I can do about this?

Update your firmware by flashing a standalone firmware zip. Try matching the dates of firmware/rom.

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry but I'm not sure exactly what this would entail. Could you tell me what I need to read up on? I'm on the latest LOS build, 2018-06-18 15.1. I've flashed TWRP too.

I tried flashing it via recovery and get an error message. I'm not up on exactly how firmware works, but is the issue not that this was designed for MIUI and I'm running LOS?

What was the error exactly? Miui roms have got matching(compatible) firmware packages inside the zip. Non-miui roms don't have it. Firmware is basically, the package which contains modem/radio and some essential parts for the device. When i flashed an older firmware on my current rom, fingerprint menu suddenly disappeared, which is similar with your situation. That's why i suggested it. Which twrp you're using? I prefer you to use multirom twrp or blunden/raupe twrp to avoid flashing error, i'd link them later on.
Edit: Blunden twrp in extras folder: https://mega.nz/#F!ywg1kbZL!HitRlVcDhzT2GAwbLXWbxQ

You can refer my tree for MIX 3, which is system-as-root device.
You have to add "BOARD_BUILD_SYSTEM_ROOT_IMAGE := true":
https://github.com/AndroPlus-org/device_xiaomi_perseus/blob/arrow-9.x/BoardConfig.mk#L13
and change fstab according to stock one
https://github.com/AndroPlus-org/device_xiaomi_perseus/blob/arrow-9.x/rootdir/etc/fstab.qcom#L19
I bought Redmi note 7 but it isn't shipped yet...
@AndroPlus
I know. I'll keep trying with my friends:good:
And xiaomi is really a little slow to ship
I was in China and they shipped it by China post
6 days to arrive, and in China!
Thank you very much:laugh::laugh:

Just unlock your bootloader first nefore attempting any of this. And don't forget to backup your files too.
You just need adb & fastboot system wide installer, twrp img file and the eu rom zip file. magisk is built in on the chinese twrp so zip file is not really needed.
Can't elaborate a more detailed instructions coz booting the chinese twrp is a pain.

Hello, as far as I know, there is a working Chinese LOS 16, maybe this can help?
Hey guys,
coming back to android after several years of using apple smartphone devices at work. (was active here when the htc magic was launched)
So far I was able to read myself in on how things run these days. I was able to go through all the hoops, got the device unlocked, decrypted - used a users video guide from the forum here to install twrp for recovery - rooted the device with magisk and was happy to be able to use the apps that needed root.
Now I am sitting here with the first ota update after the flash: MIUI V10.2.26.0.PFAEUXM Stable 2.2G and I am getting triggered by the popups to update (taskbar, icon symbol) - I clicked on update and when I reboot I get into twrp not the stock recovery, seems legit cause he awaits a xiaomi flash but boots into twrp.
My question now is:
can I update the miui from twrp if I have the zip file without loosing my data? would be a pain to setup all the apps again and I am a bit too uncertain to test this now.
best regards
Lucin
If it's the same rom base but only an update then yes..... Meaning global rom to global rom update.... EU ROM to EU ROM UPDATE then yes!!! Just update through TWRP and you won't lose data

Ok - Thank you that is exactly what I want to do - just tried it and unfortunately I get some Errors. See attached photo. Someone can enlighten me?
Could it be due to me restarting from the Update window from miui? Maybe I should try to get the rom separetly and save it on the device in another folder?
