Install Custom Recovery
TWRP 3.0.2 by jemmini and megthebest
TWRP by Sujejsjejej
1. Extract the MediaTek USB VCOM drivers.zip file and install the Preloader VCOM drivers by running the InstallDriver.exe file.
2. Extract the SP flash tool file and run flash tool.exe.
3. Extract the content of the ROM archive.
*Just only a compatible scatter file is enough for this process but for safety reasons I recommend to use the one contained by the folder of a factory ROM package, that you downloaded from this official site.
4. Open the scatter file, that you can find in the ROM folder.
5. Leave only the recovery line checked, then double click on its Location field and brows for your device specific custom recovery image file, that you can find in the list above.
6. Click on the Download button and connect your phone to a USB port of your computer. The flashing process will start automatically and it needs just a few seconds.*
*At some models you have to press one of the volume buttons while connecting to USB but most of them don't need it and you mustn't press any of the buttons.
7. Now the custom recovery has been flashed. You may remove the USB cable. You can boot your phone into recovery by powering it on while pressing the volume up button. At some models this action starts the bootloader mode and you can boot into recovery from its menu. In such menus you can navigate with the vol-up button and select an item with the vol-down button.
Rooting
Installation
1. Download the SuperSu from the link below.
2. Transfer the zip files to your Internal Storage/SD card.
3. Reboot to recovery mode.
4. Optional: Do nandroid backup.
5. Locate the SuperSu and install.
6. Wipe cache/dalvik.
7. Reboot to system.

6. What is Secure boot img.?
Answer:
The factory boot images of UMi Super ROMs are insecured (unlocked), that make some security sensitive apps (banking apps typically) useless since they refuse to run with a root access alert.
To solve a such issue, you may replace the factory boot image by the following secured (locked) one. Just download this image file, then in the flasher window double click on the path field of the boot partition and brows for this file.
Secured boot.img

Better to say: no thread without the Jemmini TWRP's.
Because Umi Super is one of the "bad boy" and need a kernel fix for touch screen (jemmini is the Master for this..)
So many thanks to Jemmini, and is correct to wait for his link about TWRP (please also donate to jemmini for his great work).

What means "scatter file invalid" in the SP Flash Tool? I get this with the latest ROM version after extraction and trying to use the .txt Scatter file in the Tool!?
Does it matter if I have running the latest ROM version on my phone and use the Scatter file from a previous ROM file in order to install TWRP only?

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
You should be rooted and have custom recovery installed. Follow ROOTING guide and install RECOVERY and follow next steps.
1) Keep it SD card and reboot to recovery.
2) Wipe data/cache and dalvik and then flash the ROM, incase you get a bootloop (which you won't) then reboot in recovery wipe data/cache and dalvik TWICE then again reboot recovery from advanced menu and then install the ROM and reboot.
3) Will work with any recovery prefer using Philz. (Link above)
4) Reboot and keep patience as first boot can take upto 15-20 minutes.
INFINIX ZERO users make sure you have stock boot.img flash this mod first CAMERA FIX and then using SP Flashtool flash stock boot.img or else wait for my mod
NOTE : After Installing ROM will automatically reboot recovery to fix root. Manually reboot to system from recovery
BUGS
- At first boot it will ask to setup device, that time while setting google account keyboard won't work as keyboard is not enabled skip that part and manually enable keyboard later from menu. It'll work fine after that
- After you setup the device it will say "Unfortunately Setup Wizard has stopped" keep tapping on ok continuously and after 3-4 times you'll see a black screen then press home key from device (hard key middle one on your device below screen) and you'll go to home screen. I know you can bypass that! OR to fix this issue just open the zip with any zip viewer and go to system folder then app and delete the "Browser.apk" and install the ROM
- ROM can't take screenshot from "Volume UP or Down + Power Key" but hey Gravity Box is there! :silly:
- You may get error like "Unkown issue request from Google Play Music or Services". You must know it's from a lower Android and SoC port hence will be having some issues but Google Play Music works just fine. Uninstall it if you don't want it. Fixed Check Add-Ons sections for Fix. :good:
- You may see issue that Dolby doesn't gets enabled, but plug in headphones then open the option dolby it'll work. In case you are frustated with my work install this Dolby app along with it, This one will work absolutely fine Download HERE
None other. ROM is totally fine and has good performance and battery backup
ADDONS
GApps Fix download HERE
ROM doesn't has Lollipop taskswitcher use "Fancy Switcher" from Play Store to get lollipop taskswitcher.
For lollipop lock screen download lollipop lock screen from Play Store
FAQ
Q) ROM is having bad RAM management?
A) It is due to so heavily tweaked. Play games then complain if it hangs or not.
Q) Pre-Integrated Dolby still doesn't work?
A) Uninstall it simply using system app remover I added in ROM and install Dolby from this thread.

yes, mine did not work as well. it seems that it does not create the data partition correctly, mine shows that the sdcard0 is unavailable. and hence wont boot.

Will the rome work on any mt6592 devices?
My device has octacore ARM Cortex A-7 @ 1.66GHz ,Mali-450 MP and 5.5inch screen.

What is RR?
Resurrection Remix the ROM has been based on Cyanogenmod, slim, omni and original Remix ROM builds, this creates an awesome combination of performance, customization, power and the most new features, brought directly to your Device
What is NOT working:GPS and FM radio
What is working:Other like Wi-Fi, OTG, baseband and etc.
How to install it:Step 1:
You should download files for flashing:
File with RR rom (Resurrection-Remix-LP-v5.5.9-20160119-a500cg.zip):
Beta7.3 ( Mirror of Beta7.3)
Old Beta7.2.2
YOU MUST FLASH XPOSED WITH BETA7.3!
OpenGapps: Download from Google Drive or you can use Old GAPPS
XPOSED v78 : Download from Google Drive (optional)
ADB v1.0.32: Download from Google Drive
TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery by quanganh2627 (new December build): Download from Google Drive
Step 2:
1) Unpack archive with ADB and put TWRP image there.
2) Copy file with rom and gapps to internal/external memory of your phone.
3) Then you should reboot your phone in the droidboot mode. (turn off you gadget then press Turn off button and volume + button)
Then go to the ADB folder and hold Shift + Right Mouse button and write this command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery new-zen5-reco.img
Then you should reboot your phone in the recovery mode. (turn off you gadget then press Turn off button and volume - button)
Step 3:
Then you phone will reboot in the recovery. In the recovery you should instal three packages: Resurrection-Remix-LP-v5.5.9-20160119-a500cg.zip, gapps-L-x86-20150816-signed.zip and xposed_v75_RR[1].zip
NOTE: Flash Resurrection-Remix-LP-v5.5.9-20160119-a500cg.zip file first.
Step 4:
After flashing, you should format (not wipe) data and cache in the TWRP.
Then you should reboot to system.
How to go back to stock rom:Flash this package via TWRP:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwEWY6gMvYOeelBEQ2J0ckxnRmc/view
After that you should make a factory reset.

TWRP by Knone will abort installation due to executing binary error.
And i recommend you to continue using TWRP by quanganh2627

Then your phone will reboot in the recovery and rom will be installed.
When you see Resurrection Remix bootanimation you should manually Turn off your phone and press Turn off button and volume - button
Then your phone reboot in the recovery. You should wipe cache and userdata and then reboot to system.

OMNIROMUNOFFICIAL
He guys. I managed to find the time to port Omni to the z5c. Since it compiled, booted and works well (except camera) I thought I would upload to share. My goal being that we would have greater choices available adding to Stock, CM and AOSP roms. Note: This is not a developer thread. I'm just sharing this because it worked and others might be interested.
About Omni:
The goal of Omni is to experiment with Android development because we enjoy it. Omni isn’t better, just different. It’s another option for the billion Android users out there. Android (vs. iOS and every other mobile OS) has thrived on options as well as the gigantic, talented development community that has emerged to build those options. That’s the beauty of Android – that you can pick and choose from a smorgasbord of devices with varying features and functionality. https://omnirom.org/
BIG THANKS to...
@humberos - for creating the first omni device tree (that I know of) for the kitakami family. (my suzuran dev tree is largely his work)
@CTXz - for all the work he and the kitakamy dev team have done/will do for CM that will find its way in to the omni flavour of aosp.
@superR - I used his kitchen to make the zip file with sparse dat .img
The Sonyxperiadev team for releasing their sources to the public
The good..
Compiled with latest camera and vendor blobs provided by Sonyxperiadev.
Full working omni features
- Comes with latest TWRP packed in the kernel
- Advanced reboot menu - boot directly in to twrp or boot-loader, or reboot and hold up when led turns purple)
- Omni switch
-Advanced power menu (like kernel auditor)
The not so good..
Camera is slow.
- Colours are inverted on screen for main camera but pictures are fine in photo viewer.
- Colours are fine on screen for front camera but inverted heavy blue tinge in photo viewer.
Security in settings F/C (there is no trustzone for CM yet, when they reverse sonys binary and include it in their code I will kang it )
No fingerprint detection/ firmware (yet - this will be reversed from sony at some point as well.)
-Bluetooth reported to have the same limited functionality as AOSP.
-Root: The ramdisk.img patcher within systemless SU installer is detecting that Omniboot.img is already patched/rooted when its not, so aborts, thus at this stage we cant get full root. (Im working on this)
If anyone is interested in building Omnirom for the z5c let me know and Ill push my device tree and provide a link.
Here is the twrp installable zip for omni. Do NOT install this on another device other then the E5823
Do a factory reset/full wipe in twrp before you install. Make sure wou have GAPS and the latest SU zips ready to go as neither are included.

Excellent feedback guys.
I didn't test it with SU. I assumed it would need SU 2.7.1. Try installing it after the first or second full boot. Could someone test that for me?
In the mean time as it's systemless root, I'll look to see if it's trying to install in a folder within the kernel that doesn't exist in omni (not much to the ramdisk, just 4 binaries.)
Thanks!
Awesome work mate! Always good to have another ROM to choose from

I only had gapps issues if I did a reboot between the rom and gapps. Flashed together they were fine.
Concerning the SuperSU install in twrp, it appears at a glance to install ok but if you read what comes up in twrp(see my last post) it fails. Tried a few times and always the same result.

You can tweak with settings via adb shell, and the 'settings' command, ie: to allow untrusted apk installation :
settings put secure install_non_market_apps 1
Same problem with supersu. But otherwise, quite nice, and stable till now.

Now I believe the issue is when the SU install script tries to split the kernel. the script is expecting to find /kernel & /ramdisk.cpio after splitting the boot.img. Omni boot.img has a slightly different ramdisk format. The file path to the ramdisk once split from kernel is /sbin/ramdisk.cpio (as ramdisk.cpio and ramdisk-recovery.cpio both occupy the sbin directory, which sits beside <init> which is just a simlynk to the real <init> inside /sbin/ramdisk.cpio/
I will look at either modifying the systemless su install binary which is a little difficult as Chainfire's script writing ability is a little more advanced then mine...:silly: OR modding the kernel to fit the script, root it then using the rooted ramdisk, re configure to original format, and re pack.... Ill keep you guys posted. Omni needs root.

How to flash?
- Make sure you have Android one partition table (Flash Android one rom via SP flashtool).
- If you don't have a custom recovery, download from here (works well, recommended), or TWRP 3.0.2-1 for Hot 2 from Hovatek and flash it via SP flashtool.
- Reboot into recovery (Power off your phone, wait until it vibrates, hold power button + volume up button simultaneously)
- Wipe everything except SD card; wipe Cache, Dalvik /art Cache, Data, system. Internal memory is optional.
- Flash XOS rom, and Xposed framework then reboot. (Xposed framework is recommended for xposed torch to work with hardware buttons)
- Alternatively you can try dual boot patcher to flash rom. (SD card doesn't work when using the app with MM roms)
- If you are flashing a newer version of the rom no need to wipe anything. (wipe only in this case if you faced problems).
FAQ
Code:
[B]- Can't grant permission for an app?[/B]
Turn off all the draw over other app options.
[B]- Enable Magazine lock screen?[/B]
Go to Settings/Security choose Magazine lock screen.
[B]- Notifications not showing on lock screen?[/B]
Go to Settings/Sound & notification/Notifications choose "when device is locked" then "show all notifications content"
[B]- How to uninstall an app from launcher?[/B]
Xlauncher is a lil bit like EMUI launcher; apps present on home screen, what looks like an app drawer is just a small app to arrange apps from A-Z. So breifely uninstall app from home screen.
[B]- Status bar is not tinted on some apps? (Fixed on version 3).[/B]
This is not a port bug, XOS rom is just like that.. use flat colored bars xposed module to change it. (not needed now)
[B]- Can I use/enable USB OTG?[/B]
USB OTG is not supported by defualt in Hot 2 Android one kernel, we need kernel support for this feature to work.
[B]- How to remove fingerprint app from the app drawer? (removed on version 3)[/B]
You can't. It is inside settings.apk ; it needes to be deodexed and modified to remove it, so just ignore it.
[B]- Is flash light toggle/kernel gestures are going to be fixed?[/B]
No, it is impossible without kernel support.
[B]- I can't find a specific feature/this feature is missing?[/B]
Well, I only port the rom, I do not add features to it, if you can't find a specific feature you used to have on another rom, then simply it is not supported in XOS rom.
[B]- Night mode in camera force closes?[/B]
It is not supported, do not use it.
[B]- I found a bug, can you fix it?[/B]
Give me a logcat of the bug and for sure I'll try to fix it.. So logcat or it never happened.
[B]- When some bugs will be fixed?[/B]
Don't ask for ETA please, some bugs are hard to fix and other are unfixable.
~ Happy flashing ~

Flashing XOS rom on Android one
This is for people who do not want to flash infinix rom, or they don't know how to, or they found it a difficult task!
Some informations:
Android one has a small system partition approximately 1.80 GB, so when you try to flash some roms it will fail because of low space.
Usually the workaround for this is flashing infinix rom via SP flash tool (select format + download) it will change your phone partition table giving you a bigger system parition.
Even though this task is very easy, I get so many messages from people complaining about bootloops, or they couldn't flash infinix rom and they soft bricked their devices.. some other flashed infinix rom via custom recovery and they wonder why XOS bootloop for them * facepalm *
Workaround for you
1- Download XOS rom
2- Unzip it
3- Delete META-INF folder.
4- Download META-INF from attachments, unzip it to rom directory)
5- Go to system/app and delete some apps to free some space, for example you can delete (Chrome, Hangouts, Youtube, & userguide.. etc)
6- Make sure that system folder size is less than 1.80 GB (1.70 or 1.60 GB just in case)
7- zip the rom back
8- Flash it, it should boot.
Notice: current bugs in the rom cannot be fixed, I won't provide further updates.
(One more reserve).
Good job bro!
Gonna share it on my blog.

I didn't test SD Card actually, I flashed the rom via Dual boot patcher and it breaks SD card on MM roms.
Wait for someone to confirm that it is working, if it is.. all I've done is changed the mount point in the updater-script for flashing boot.img
Edit: SD card confirmed to be working.

1- USB on which mode? MTP or USB storage? what windows you have?
MTP mode doesn't work on windows 10, USB storage only.
2- it doesn't seem to work, didn't find a solution yet.

Because you didn't follow the instructions, are you on Android one rom?
Android one rom has small system partition
Android one system partition = 1.82 GB
XOS rom size = 1.88 GB
It will fail if you try to install it on Android one rom.
You need to flash Infinix rom first via SP flash tool, it will modify partition table and you will have bigger system partition.
And do not flash root, it either bootloop or doesn't grant permissions.

The ROM installation takes a lot of time(abt 20min). I almost aborted it. I tot it had freezed because it stood still at 'formating system' but later continued.
The bootloop occurred when I tried rooting the ROM so don't root it yet after installation.
-Please how do we fix the led notification bug?

Smooth ROM
This ROM is by far one of the best for Hot 2, well done.
As with most of the ROM you ported, rooting is unavailable , so might be difficult to fix led bug on our own.
SD card works.
USB mode works...every other thing except LED.
Rocking this at the moment.

Unfortunately, people on facebook reported that it bootloops after flashing systemless root, and normal root is not working; it doesn't grant permissions
I'm looking into it, but not sure if there is something I can do.
The ROM is good with a but, could it be possible toake it easy for everyone to use cos most ROMs work well on android one so flashing is nothing.
But when one had to revert first to infinix ROM meh its not very encouraging knowing d data lose involved.
So if its possible to bring it down pls try.
Or make d infinix ROM flash able on android one...

There's no way you can measure battery in such a short time - too many variables.
Give logs for the clock crash please

NikGapps 11 omni. But error, probably, is not in ROM, maybe some mistake, when i flashed. Now I try last release ForkLineage.
I tried to follow the steps provided here, used latest NikGapps Basic Arm64 and when the OS started it says "Google Play services keeps stopping".
I did an upgrade, through the updater and now stuck in a bootloop. Has anyone had sucess updating without a bootloop?
edit: I managed to update by downloading and installing it manually, but after using nikgapps, i get FC got Google PLay Services
Apparently pixel experience was discontinued for this device im considering switching to this rom, why does it require firmware(vendor) this was never a requirement for pixel experience.
Is there a way to check my current firmware version?? From TWRP or inside Pixel experience rom...
Hi,
as of now, I tested several of the ROMs listed here.
This one suits my needs & taste much better than the others, almost perfect
I did not fully test yet, but for now the only issues I found are :
- when installing the ROM, it's been blocked several times (even wiping cache/data), the install also emptied internal storage (the other ROMs did not)
- I installed NikGapps Core (with a reduced subset) : I can't change the google play services permissions for SMS access & call log. This is also the case on all the other ROMs I tested. It is preventing me to setup Signal application which does not allow manual code check as Whatsapp does. [Edit : somehow after some time I've been able to allow SMS access and then disable it]
- I did not fnd how to change the date/time size in the notif bar.
Edit 1: I installed gcam and the app crashes at every launch.
Edit2 : 25% battery used during an 8 hours night with the phone in airplane mode.
Edit3: the "recent apps" nav button takes time to show the apps
Hi,
There is an update available.
On the changelog I see "Switched to Gapps build".
Does that mean they are now including gapps to the ROM ?
If so, I'll have to look for another ROM
Too bad, that one was ok for me.
Yes Gapps including now,so no need to flash Gapps file

but no way to choose the set of gapps to install and it usually comes with many gapps stuff I don't want.
I'll have to move to another Rom, that one was good but ...

Hi,
has someone installed this new version ?
If so :
- can someone run from a windows command window or linux shell : adb shell pm list packages so that we can see what google stuff, bloatware and spyware has been added ?
- is there a power management improvement (having ~ 20% drain over 8 hours night in airplane mode)
- have you identified improvements in any way ?
Thanks
