FIX : Xperia ZR Excess Battery Drainage - Sony Xperia ZR

XZR is a great phone. It has got good Rear Camera, Processor, Display and stuff. The only thing getting on its way is the eXtreme battery drainage on daily use. There are many factors that cause the poor battery like Unnecessary apps, Google play services app, heavy games et cetera.
This fix is actually a battery calibration
If you've noticed Most of the times the various Battery Calibration Apps and methods won't work on DOGO[XZR].
Battery calibration is removing the OLD BATTERY STATS of the phone and forming a brand new Statistics. Because of the old Battery Stats the battery send wrong info. to the Android system which finally cause in poor battery Performance.
So here's a working method to calibrate the battery:
So basically the battery stat is a file that is stored in the phones memory. All you have to do is manually delete that "battery stats.bin" file from the phone.
Follow the below steps
1. Need to have Root access
2. Install ES File Explorer v3.2.5.3
3. Navigate to ' data ' folder in the root directory in ES file explorer
4. Scroll down and open ' system ' folder
5. In ' system ' folder you'll find a file named 'batter stats.bin'. Delete the 'batter stats.bin' file
6. Reboot and your Done
Enjoy!!
Not really necessary:
It is better if you charge your battery to 100% and drain it completely (like totally 0%) and again charge to 100% without break, I know it's irritating but that's how it works. Anyways it's not necessary as you can feel the battery being normal again, But if you have time you can follow the complete process.
This method dosent increase the battery life. But will stop the unnecessary juice drainage. Your phone will work like at the time you bought it.
This photo ought to explain everything. Here:-

Android OS consuming battery

So, recently, my battery life has gone to ****...mostly due to Android OS. I'm running MonsterRom 1.2. I just SBF'd the phone clean yesterday and restored apps via MyBackUp Root and TB. I made sure not to use a hand backup because I figured that would restore system settings causing the issue to re-surface. Any help would be much appreciated.
EDIT: I understand that this isn't a drained battery, but the volume of use remains proportional when the phone is nearly dead.

Me too
I've also had a similar problem on both copies of the droid 3 I own. Can't seem to find the answer. Anyone had any luck out there?
Looking into it further
There is a great thread here.
I installed betterbatterystats and turned off syncing for instant upload and Google Docs to see if that would help. Also, com.motorola.blur.service.sync.engine.wakelock.task seems to be a possible culprit on the wakelock side of things. It would be nice if we could put this problem to bed. Besides this and not being able to receive SMS with images in it (I think it's something to do with my provider, Koodo), I love this phone.
Assuming that the phone is rooted, download a app called battery calibration from the market, charge your battery to 100 percent or 4200mah,give the app root access and tap calibrate. You should be good. When changing roms it is important to calibrate your battery. Also you can do the same thing by booting to cwm recovery and erasing battery stats.

Possible progress here
Removing the calendar widget, docs sync, facebook sync and instant update seem to have made a significant improvement over the last couple of hours. I will update as I get more data.
I should note that I'm on .890, I have rooted and debloated except for blur (I want the calendar app unless someone else can suggest a better one), motoprint and task manager.

Android OS Problem !

Hello XDA developers and users ,
I would like to share my serious ANDROID OS problem which causes battery to die in 10 HOURs only WITHOUT using it !
it just drains the battery hour by hour quickly .
I have suffered a lot from it besides i don't have enough time even to use the phone when the problem exists , and i won't change my 2.3.3
carrier's stock Gingerbread because it supports my language { the middle east languages which I always in need (the main disadvantage in official samsung firmwares that doesn't provide all languages ) }
the issue drives me insane i won't even download many apps and a lot of saves until i get something or an update to , but i don't expect 2.3.4 update soon in carrier's stock roms,
In battery Use option , u can see the CPU Usage and the percent % and it reaches it's peak sometime to 60% and 2 hours of use
I read about a solution , " Restart the phone and it will solve " etc,, but it doesn't really help me , to experience such a great and fantastic phone features ,
I thought i would share the problem here , so the developers and users will help , or link and show me a good rom with middle east languages
The pictures attached below . ( Ignore the Wifi line because it doesn't really affect on the issue )
Thanks .

Is this on heavy usage or medium, light? My galaxy S lasts about 15 hours if I use it very heavily, say lots of web browsing, apps downloading, youtube, music, Angry Birds etc. etc.
On light usage, as in minimal use of stuff mentioned above and only primary use is texting and receiving calls, listening to music on locked screen, etc. it lasts up to 2 days.
That's what i meant, it must last up to 2-3 days with light usage , but unfortunately this problem prevent the phone from providing longer life battery .
Ouch.

[Q] Mediaserver?

Hey guys Im wondering what mediaserver stands for, becouse as you will see is taking more battery juice than my screen... ( I have shooted a few pictures, didint use the voice recorder )
Any ideas?
If I am not mistaken the voice mediaserver is a native process of android and then as such cannot be terminated. Should enclose all the app in media use in your device including music, video, app and streaming app to download music, etc. To do to use less battery this process mediaserver you should make sure that any app multimedia are closed and that are not in background.app music, video, after having used does not continue to keep them in the background but terminal settings...Test so After installing Watchdog Lite, I saw that the CPU was 0% idle with 75-95% "nice." Well, no idle = battery suckage, so off to see what tasks are using CPU. The initial check didn't show anything -- until I enabled monitoring "Phone Processes." The alerts for the "mediaserver" "linux task" showed that this process was taking every cpu cycle it could. Off to Google.
Did a search on "android mediaserver loop" and found a couple of bugzillas that essentially said that a corrupt media file (pic, movie or sound) could send mediaserverover the edge. So, I started to move *every* picture off the sd card onto my computer's HD.
Knew I was on to something when mediaserver stopped going crazy once usb storage was turned on. So, I moved all the image and movie files off and turned off usb storage. The CPU spun back to100% busy, but slowed back down to about 9o% or more idle.
Now all I have to do is find the bad file or files, and I can add it to the bugzilla.
EDIT: It seems that this has also made the cooliris gallery wake up and start updating again. So anyone seeing that the gallery isn't updating may need to see if their mediaserver linux task is unusually busy. If so, offload as many media files as possible and see whap happens...
I have seen tons of users having this issue. Sure it might be caused by some sort of corrupt media file, but in my case, I formatted the sd card and moved everything back in except my Music. All was fine. I then moved in two albums with mp3's, and boom. mediaserver up to 20% drain. :/

Battery Drain because of Media?

For me, the battery is drained by media and Google services. The Google services is understandable, i use Google Now and services like that, and I don't mind it. But the media is a mystery. I tried formatting my data partition, even reflashing the ROM but to no avail.
Anyway, I tried using other FWs, but the same thing happens. I have no idea why though... Any one having the same problem or knowing the solution? Please help, thanks!

Mediaserver (Media) is the service that handles all pictures, videos, musics in your device, including finding the files so they appear in your album/walkman and providing the file when you're trying to view them.
If you listen to music or see videos or pictures, it's normal that it will take some battery away
dude i have the same problem with battry drain my mobile battry dead in 7 hours 52 min in genral use like whatsapping, massagng and spme time facebook and i have 2g network. i dont know why this battry drains so faster earlier ihave xpeia sola and it stay near 11-12 hours appox with 3g network
i am also having this kind of problem.
battery backup is not upto the mark.
mediaserver takes around 20%battery and google services also takes large amount
Hey all! I think I found a fix (by messing around).
Go to titanium backup, and freeze media storage.
That solved the problem for me
However, you have to unfreeze it to take screen shots.

For Google services, I turned off location reporting and disabled GPS to save battery.
Now my batt goes at 0.5% per hour

[Q] Terrible Battery Life of I-9295

Hi there, I have been struggling from terrible battery life for a long time. Even calibration didn't make any changes. So today I bought a brand new battery and calibrated it but it didn't work very well.
Here are the statistics:

Anyone can help?
Don't believe in battery calibration. It's a hoax. When turning on all lights and power consumers at home 24/7 the power bill usually get large numbers.
Focus on active/running apps and features you seldom or never use. They are sucking the battery and keeping the phone awake.
Ask your self - do I need GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth on always, Email check inbox each 15min, Calendar and background sync, Social forum updates Tw** Fa** Sna** anytime?
Enable when YOU need them, else off.
Android KitKat 4.4.x allow you to deactivate many apps without un-install.
This category of apps is usually called bloatware - the ones Samsung decided you must have but never use.

Thanks for your reply. But, I have even bought Greenify and I rarely use those battery-draining features of the phone.
Mine's been doing that for a while now too. It's always 'Android OS' and 'Android System' taking the top 2 spots in the battery stats. I've just gotten used to always keeping it on the charger.
